Reliability of thescoreesports.com
[edit]@Czar: Surely http://www.thescoreesports.com is reliable? I mean it's part of a high profiel news organization TheScore Inc.--Prisencolin (talk) 07:10, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- TheScore's website has a list of its most prominent press mentions, wherein their score-reporting app is almost always the content of the mention (not their reporting). Unless there is some hidden cache of reliable sources that rely on TheScore's work, or call it laudatory somewhere, with no editorial policy and no reputation for fact-checking, I see no reason to use this website as a source. – czar 07:20, 12 September 2015 (UTC)
- @Czar: TheScore Inc. is a publicly traded media company that also has several other web publications. I honestly can't see how you think they would be an unreliable source.--Prisencolin (talk) 15:58, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
- (The {{ping}} won't send unless you sign your post in the same edit.) The Score has a lot of gloss. Their product is not news but a mobile phone app. They have no editorial policy and none of sources covering the company comment on the reliability or quality of their reporting. Lots of sites produce news snippets from third-party sources. There are better sources for this type of information. I think I said this sufficiently in my last post. Burden's on you to show that there is consensus for its inclusion. czar 18:15, 24 October 2015 (UTC)
- "Their product is not news but a mobile phone app.", um what? So the news just comes out of thin air as the company only makes a mobile app? As WP:NEWSORG notes, most news organizations don't publish an editorial policy, that doesn't mean they don't have one though. here is a list of the editors and writers, perhaps they can be contacted for that kind of information. Regarding the quality of reporting from TheScore, according to this: "On Wednesday, theScore will be the first sizable media company to launch a mobile app dedicated to eSports" (my emphasis).--Prisencolin (talk) 15:17, 25 October 2015 (UTC)

What actual sport is this article about? It doesn't tell me.

- Actually, they play at a football stadium according to the infobox, so I assume it is football. -Roxy the dog™ (Resonate) 17:24, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- They play in a football stadium, but the "sport" (eSport rather), is League of Legends. And yes, if you're out of the loop, there is a such thing as professional video gaming. (sorry I can't tell if you're joking or not XD)--Prisencolin (talk) 19:11, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- It isn't GamerGate related, is it? -Roxy the dog™ (Resonate) 20:04, 29 September 2015 (UTC)
- Haha it isn't, as far as I know at least... --Prisencolin (talk) 04:48, 2 October 2015 (UTC)
