"Mobile Light Force" is not REALLY Gunbird!
[edit]"Mobile Light Force" is not REALLY Gunbird!
- A long time ago budget publisher XS Games picked up the rights to a vertical shooter from Psikyo. They “localized” the game into Mobile Light Force. Don’t let the cover fool you. Mobile Light Force really is a butchered version of Gunbird. Imagine the surprise of someone who bought this on a whim expecting a robot shooting game with clones of Charlie’s Angels to find out the game starts with a cartoon rabbit holding a clock. http://www.siliconera.com/2009/05/29/gunbird-sort-of-coming-to-playstation-network/
- For those who don't know (I was one of them), Gunbird was released here in the states for the Playstation called Mobile Light Force. It is infamously know for being one of the sloppiest localization efforts of all time. http://www.akibamerica.com/2009/08/retro-game-review-gunbird-1-2.html
And so on.
The game was known as "Gunbird" to EVERYONE for 14 years. Including in Europe and EU since the early 2000s. In arcades, on Saturn, and on PS2 (Gunbird collection). And now a stupid (literally) PSP port in 2009 is going to change it all? Come on!
This bullshit is more of a trivia-type stuff, and Gunbird is still Gunbird. --Asperchu (talk) 11:36, 20 March 2010 (UTC)
