On 8 August 2021, it was proposed that this article be moved from Ed Herman (fighter) to Ed Herman. The result of the discussion was moved. |

[edit]I changed "Ed lost to Kendall Grove in the finals in a controversial but unanimous decision(29-28, 29-28, 29-28)." to "Ed lost to Kendall Grove in the finals in a close, but unanimous decision(29-28, 29-28, 29-28)." The fight was close, but not controversial, there's a difference. The Bonar/Griffin fight is a better example of controversial. In any case, both Ed and Kendall performed outstandingly. The link to Chris Price in "mixed martial arts" record should be fixed or removed. Currently, it links to an English football player, not the former UFC fighter from Indiana. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.220.45.104 (talk) 05:35, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Goes to sleep?
[edit]I actually went to this page to find out if Ed normally allows himself to pass out before tapping. I saw him do that against Maia, and I remember him calling himself a pussy for tapping against MacDonald. I wasn't sure if anyone knew anything else about this though, and if it's worthy of a new section in the article. 72.196.192.218 (talk) 00:44, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Greg K 5/10/09
Personal Information Section
[edit]I wanted to add the following information but do not have access to edit the page. I thought the information would fit under Personal Information secion. Herman and fellow MMA fighter Ryan Schultz own and operate "Trials Martial Arts and Fitness Gym" in Northern Colorado. The gym offers high level mixed martial arts training. Requested move 02 December 2014
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: no consensus to move the page at this time, but this may be worth revisiting in a centralized location per UserPRehse given the preponderance of articles in the applicable categories that use "(fighter)" as a disambiguator. Dekimasuよ! 20:02, 8 December 2014 (UTC)
Ed Herman (mixed martial artist) → Ed Herman (fighter) – This is the proper designation for MMA fighters. – LiberatorLX (talk) 03:34, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
- This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 14:08, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
- Comment List of female mixed martial artists and List of male mixed martial artists would disagree with your assessment, since it is not called list of male fighters or list of female fighters ; further other sports have fighters, but they are disambiguated by their sport (ie. boxer, etc), not the generic "fighter" And fighters are also participants in military conflicts (such as Kurdish fighters in Kobani) not to mention a type of military aircraft. At most it would be Ed Herman (MMA fighter) if not "mixed martial artist" -- 67.70.35.44 (talk) 10:55, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose for reasons stated above. --Lineagegeek (talk) 13:26, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- Comment Hard to get excited about this but I am pretty sure the consensus was fighter and if so it should remain - no need to rehash. Problem is I can not find the discussion and it is possible that there never was one. If that is the case - we should have one on the Project page.Peter Rehse (talk) 13:47, 3 December 2014 (UTC)
- Oppose The term "mixed martial artist" is much more precise and informative than "fighter" and should be the preferred choice. Papaursa (talk) 03:42, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Ed Herman (fighter) → Ed Herman – There is only one man named Ed Herman. The other individual is Edward S. Herman, an economist that has 0 views on average. The fighter has 300 daily views. The hat note of Ed Herman should remain linking to the economist if necessary. The fighter is the primary topic. Marty2Hotty (talk) 01:17, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

- Support Ed Herman (fighter) → Ed Herman per ♡RAFAEL♡. No need to indicate WP:PRIMARYTOPIC since the disambiguation page main title header is "Edward Herman", not "Ed Herman", therefore the dab page listings for Ed Herman and Edward S. Herman can remain unchanged. The hatnote atop the fighter's entry should be changed from "For the American economist, see Edward S. Herman." to "For those with similar names, see Edward Herman (disambiguation)." —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 00:39, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
