Requested move 27 June 2024[edit]

WP:CONSISTENT with other cabinets. — Hemant Dabral (📞) 08:58, 27 June 2024 (UTC) This is a contested technical request (permalink). – robertsky (talk) 16:08, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Amakuru, er.. opps... I think we both actioned at the same time with different outcomes. My consideration is that other cabinets of other national leaders are titled as such as First Merkel cabinet, First Kohl cabinet, First Madbouly Cabinet, First Lee Kuan Yew Cabinet. First Mahathir cabinet, etc. – robertsky (talk) 09:39, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Robertsky: but is there sourcing using those names? That's what I wanted to see before considering moving these. We don't make stuff up...  — Amakuru (talk) 09:42, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Neither were there sourcing to indicate the cabinets by year? "First XX cabinet" is not a proper name, but a descriptive title. i.e. 'In Nepal, the first XX cabinet was formed after elections took place". In my opinion, so is that of the indication by year. Since these are descriptive titles, wouldn't consistency with the other cabinet articles be applicable? – robertsky (talk) 10:23, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Saying which year the cabinet existed is a true descriptive title, because it's clear from the sourcing what years were concerned. Giving it a made-up Wikipedia number based on hand counting the changes in the cabinet structure over the years, however, constitutes original research. Not to mention there's a WP:RECOGNISEability issue if we start giving things names that don't match any known numbering scheme. Now it might well be that the numbering is well-attested like the 45th US president and all that, but the move should not go ahead and is controversial until and unless such sourcing is produced.  — Amakuru (talk) 11:14, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Amakuru well then, give me a moment and let me revert the moves and open a discussion on this. – robertsky (talk) 12:48, 27 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
