- Ok let’s mark which of these references have been used and which ones still need to be mined/used. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 02:22, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- They're pretty much entirely used. I used 12 of the 14 in creating the article, and 1 of the sources that went unused was because I found it to source something specific, but ended not using it because I noticed another source verified it even better. Sergecross73 msg me 03:26, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- I’m having trouble running a script to format the references, could you do that @Sergecross73:. Once that’s done, I think it will be a C, since it has references. Judgesurreal777 (talk) 15:54, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
- Sorry, hadn’t meant for you to have to do it. I just knew I wouldnt have time yesterday, it was a busy one. Sergecross73 msg me 13:40, 9 July 2020 (UTC)

- That’s all right, we all can help pick up each other’s slack here, that’s what’s great about Wikipedia! Judgesurreal777 (talk) 13:53, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
Roman numeral II
[edit]I'm pretty sure the title of the article should be "Bravely Default II". All promotional material and store pages list it with the roman numeral; it's not like Red Dead Redemption 2 where the roman numeral is only in the logo and it's a 2 everywhere else. Even on this page, everything says II except the title.

- I can move it wherever, but it doesn’t really matter. They’re both the same thing, and there’s a redirect in place so that people hit the article regardless of what they type in the search bar. Sergecross73 msg me 23:25, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
actually having typed "bravely default 2" to get here it actually redirected me to Bravely Default#Legacy Domino2097 (talk) 00:58, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- Fixed. That was an issue unrelated to this. (That redirect was never updated due to the wrong capitalization being used.) Sergecross73 msg me 01:53, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- Well, currently the page is using sources with 7 using
Bravely Default 2
and 5 usingBravely Default II
. So per WP:COMMONNAME, it can remain so. We can move it if more growing sources are usingBravely Default II
. LightKeyDarkBlade (talk) 07:40, 30 October 2020 (UTC)- The (slight) majority of sources are now using the roman numeral II, so I think that's reason enough to move it at this point considering it's also the official title. TheHumanIntersect (talk) 06:47, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- It's been almost a year since this discussion has been touched, but I was just reminded of this by the announcement of Octopath Traveler II. Could this please be moved now per the reasons I gave in my previous response? TheHumanIntersect (talk) 17:03, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- I would think that this is also proof that it does not matter at all. They literally mean the same thing and the WP:REDIRECT makes it so people searching either version works out. Sergecross73 msg me 17:55, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- Sure, the redirect exists, but the title of the article not using the universal official spelling, especially given that it's used everywhere else on the article, just looks unprofessional and informal IMO. Final Fantasy articles aren't arbitrarily titled using the number form, even though many reliable sources spell those titles that way. That's just how it goes with roman numerals. Just because some people will ignore them and use the number instead doesn't mean a site like Wikipedia should. Again, this is just my opinion, but since it doesn't matter functionally which one is used (because of the redirect), I feel like it makes sense to use the official one. TheHumanIntersect (talk) 18:12, 13 September 2022 (UTC)
- Also for the record, here's a relevant part of WP:NCVG: "For series that use either Arabic numerals or Roman numerals to denote the order of games in the series, use the numerals in the official titles for the games, even if their types vary from game to game (for example, Final Fantasy IV instead of Final Fantasy 4, and Quake 4 instead of Quake IV). When Roman numerals are used, consider providing a redirect that uses Arabic numerals (for example, Final Fantasy 4 should redirect to Final Fantasy IV); a similar redirect is not necessary for Roman numeral equivalents." TheHumanIntersect (talk) 01:43, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
- Moved to Bravely Default II on TheHumanIntersect's request. I agree that it should be uncontroversial per WP:NCVG. No such user (talk) 08:47, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
