Three separate topics synthesized into one. In any event, a relatively small number of rockets causing little or no damage is undue (not really news either). Selfstudier (talk) 13:59, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It's quite rare for Palestinian groups to fire rockets from Lebanon these days. This the first instance (that I could find) were Palestinian groups have fired rockets from Syria.
So it is relevant. Hind242 (talk) 15:55, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Can just be added to List of rocket attacks from Lebanon on Israel. Selfstudier (talk) 16:13, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What about the attacks from Syria? Hind242 (talk) 17:26, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What about them? Idk how many rockets but not many, right? There are lots of lists about rocket attacks but this is just not news anyway. I would look for something more substantive to write an article about. Selfstudier (talk) 17:56, 13 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
5 were launched in total Hind242 (talk) 01:22, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Propose merge

[edit]

Suggest just adding the material from this article into 2023 Israel–Lebanon shellings. Longhornsg (talk) 03:44, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Jebiguess (talk) 19:23, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
actually, it should be the other way around. 2023 Israel–Lebanon shellings on 6-7 April was part of the broader April 2023 Israel rocket attacks from 5 to 9 April. Longhornsg (talk) 22:27, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Synth?

[edit]

Not sure where the synth comes from. The rocket attacks and subsequent response are discussed as a group in a number of RS, including NPR, Washington Post, New York Times, an Atlantic Council Middle East expert described it as the most serious bout of violence in the area in more than sixteen years, it was later discussed in the context of a May ceasefire by the Times of Israel, and by experts who discussed the exchange of fire in the broader context of Israel-Hezbollah.

Definitely notable. WP:NOTNEWS doesn't apply if one were to actually read the guidance. These weren't routine (indeed, I'm not sure "routine" events get coverage in dozens of globally-facing RS). As Axios put it, "It's the most serious escalation between Lebanon and Israel since the 2006 war." Not routine or crime blotter material in my reading. April 2023 Israel rocket attacksApril 2023 Palestinian rocket attacks on Israel – Following the name convention of List of Palestinian rocket attacks on Israel in 2023. The article is also a SPINOFF of Palestinian rocket attacks on Israel. Making sure that it is understood by our readers that this is a more in depth article about a shorter time span. I understand, accept, and draw attention to the fact that there are also other concerns with this article. PLEASE respond below UNDER THE ASSUMPTION that the article remains "as is" and raise general/other concerns and suggestions elsewhere on this talk page, so we can keep the debates focused. Finding the correct name for the current article does not necessarily mean that it will be kept as it currently is and the other debates do not a priori rule that out either, so this is a debate to have had. gidonb (talk) 02:54, 5 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
