October music

[edit]
story · music · places

You may remember Maryvonne Le Dizès, my story today as on 28 August. Some September music was unusual: last compositions and eternal light, with Ligeti mentioned in story and music. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:02, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, another great gone! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:11, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
(Today is the third day in a row with a recent death article, and another one tomorrow, another giant.) - Today I remember an organist who was pictured on the Main page on his birthday ten years ago, and I found two recent organ concerts to match, - see top of my talk. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:54, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Today brought a timely promotion of Helmut Bauer to the Main page on the day when pieces from Mozart's Requiem were performed for him. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:11, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I made Leif Segerstam my big story today. -Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:04, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think you wrote most of the three articles in my story today - back in 2012 ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:33, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nice!♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:03, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Nvvchar also! - My story today is a cantata 300 years old, based on a hymn 200 years old when the cantata was composed, based on a psalm some thousand years old, - so said the 2015 DYK hook. I had forgotten the discussion on the talk. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:25, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My story today is about a composer and choir conductor, listen to his Lamento. - My story on 13 October was about a Bach cantata. As this place works, it's on the Main page now because of the date. I sort of like it because today is the birth date of my grandfather who loved and grew dahlias like those pictured. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:48, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I hope you followed to a rich day. Today a caricature, for a change. Sent from Madrid. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:37, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You're in Spain? ♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:51, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Again. Flamenco yesterday, on my talk. - Happy whatever you celebrate today, - more who died, more to come, and they made the world richer. - I took the pic of assorted Cucurbita in 2016. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:25, 31 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello!

[edit]

I've seen you signed up as a member of WP Panama in 2008; I was wondering if you're still active within it. I was wondering if the project could be revived or how do stuff like that work. Sorry for all the hassle! LexigtonMisiENG (talk) 20:45, 27 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm not active with WikiProjects, nope. I suspect a country like Panama won't have many interested participants on here, but if you're really interested perhaps ask at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Latin America. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:57, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, thank you! LexigtonMisiENG (talk) 15:24, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

memories -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:27, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

For a surprise, a Bach cantata is on the Main page today, where it was last year for the 300th anniversary, and they were too lazy to find something new ;) - Look at my story, and listen to the 3 whole-tone steps and the dialogues of Fear and Hope. - An open letter open to be signed (more info on the talk), - I haven't checked if you did, please ignore then. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:14, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

300th anniversary! Wow! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:10, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
301st now. This year is the 300th anniversary of the chorale cantatas - my topic of the year - as my user pages have proclaimed since 1 January ;) - There are some GAN open, in case of interest. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:54, 8 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
