Location of Mount Sodom
Where is Mount Sedom/Mount Sodom located? If you look at its article you can see that the Israelis are claiming it's in Israel, but every photo I've found places it on the east side of the Dead Sea, not the west. Check the coords: 31° 25′ 54″ N, 35° 33′ 46″ E - what do you all think? Admiralthrawn 1 (talk) 09:01, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Coordinators' working group
Hi! I'd like to draw your attention to the new WikiProject coordinators' working group, an effort to bring both official and unofficial WikiProject coordinators together so that the projects can more easily develop consensus and collaborate. This group has been created after discussion regarding possible changes to the A-Class review system, and that may be one of the first things discussed by interested coordinators.
All designated project coordinators are invited to join this working group. If your project hasn't formally designated any editors as coordinators, but you are someone who regularly deals with coordination tasks in the project, please feel free to join as well. — Delievered by §hepBot (Disable) on behalf of the WikiProject coordinators' working group at 05:45, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Fixing the Jordan Page
Hello there. I'm a long time contributor to Jordan-related articles (though not recently). I originally added the tourism section, expanded the economy section, overhauled organization in the Jordan page, and attempted to expand more articles. After a long absence I must say I'm very optimistic at the progress, especially since very few contributors from Jordan used to be active.
Anyways, one of the downsides I have seen of such expansion is that the Jordan page has become very disorganized:
First, the tourism section has grown out of control with many sites being added to the list. The main "Jordan" page should include only the major one and in a more organized manner. I have removed some of these. Please help in fixing the tourism section and remember to add any additional detail to the Tourism in Jordan article instead of the section.
Second, the natural reserves section has been moved under the tourism section. I am still concerned that it is not notable, and if so should somehow be summarized. I also copied the natural reserves section to a similarly-titled section in the Tourism in Jordan page.
Third, the culture section has long been a list that links to other articles. I think we should try to expand that into small and brief subsections.
In an unrelated point, the tourism article itself is a mess.
So... anyone up to start a new organization drive? --Eshcorp (talk) 10:08, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
This is a notice to let you know about Article alerts, a fully-automated subscription-based news delivery system designed to notify WikiProjects and Taskforces when articles are entering Articles for deletion, Requests for comment, Peer review and other workflows (full list). The reports are updated on a daily basis, and provide brief summaries of what happened, with relevant links to discussion or results when possible. A certain degree of customization is available; WikiProjects and Taskforces can choose which workflows to include, have individual reports generated for each workflow, have deletion discussion transcluded on the reports, and so on. An example of a customized report can be found here.
If you are already subscribed to Article Alerts, it is now easier to report bugs and request new features. We are also in the process of implementing a "news system", which would let projects know about ongoing discussions on a wikipedia-wide level, and other things of interest. The developers also note that some subscribing WikiProjects and Taskforces use the display=none
parameter, but forget to give a link to their alert page. Your alert page should be located at "Wikipedia:PROJECT-OR-TASKFORCE-HOMEPAGE/Article alerts". Questions and feedback should be left at Wikipedia talk:Article alerts.

Requests for things to photograph
In a couple of weeks I will be spending most of a week in Jordan, primarily seeing Amman and (surprise) Petra. Since I will be taking my camera, if there's anything I could take a picture of that we need or could have for articles, please let me know. Daniel Case (talk) 05:33, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- OK, I'm here in Jordan now. Anyone? Anything? Daniel Case (talk) 18:55, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
- Hope you are enjoying Jordan. I notice there are no pictures of Umm ar-Rasas (a World Heritage Site). It seems like an interesting place, though I'm sure photos of other places would be useful too. --Aude (talk) 01:16, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- I enjoyed the country immensely. Didn't get to Umm ar-Rasas; according to the Lonely Planet guidebook (which I highly recommend for other travelers; it was informative and up-to-date), it's still sort of being developed for tourists so it wasn't on our itinerary.
I did, when I was there, review the articles we had and found that many of them are illustrated with photos that, while adequate, are older and lower-res. So I shall replace them with the ones I took on my new camera. Daniel Case (talk) 17:47, 17 April 2009 (UTC)
- I will also be adding myself to this somewhat understaffed project. Daniel Case (talk) 17:48, 17 April 2009 (UTC)

Jordan Articles
Hey Guys, First, I would like to thank you for your great efforts on articles regarding Jordan. I have some suggestions though that i would like to share with you:
1.In the Amman article, i added a new main picture that aggregates some of the most important sites in the Jordanian capital. Because as you may know, Amman do not have an only one unique site that identifies its identity. Now, The one who looks at Amman article can have comprehensive view of the city. Examples of this method includes cities like Chicago, London. Therefore, i would like your opinion about this. Another thing, is also the article of Omar AlMaani the mayor of Amman, i think its important to add information in it as i cant find any accurate information that i can add.
2.I created a new Article called List of tallest buildings in Amman, this aims to keep track with the new constructions of high rise buildings in Amman. I would like your opinion and your contributions in that article, especially that there is a huge lack of information about tall buildings status and development in Amman. Take a look at the following article List of tallest buildings in Dubai for an example.
3.Regarding Amman Roundabouts, I think having 8 articles about each Roundabouts in Amman is very very important. because everyone of these Roundabouts represents a huge area in Amman, from the west to the east, And in fact, Amman is unique with these kind of Circles all over the world. So i think the idea of merging them into one article is not that clever. for further look, check the following: {{Ammanian Roundabouts}}
4.About the royal family, I think the article about Queen Rania need to be enriched with information taking into consideration what a famous character The Queen is now all over the world.
Sorry for being too long, but would love to work more together so we can add as much accurate information about Jordan as we can.
Thank You Guys, Amman12
