Configuration of Senegalese government ministries?

[edit]

Hello! I'm trying to find the identity of which ministry the "Bureau d'Enquête et d'Analyse pour la sécurité de l'aviation civile" of Senegal is attached to. The website says it is with the ministry for air transport.

However... I found there is a Ministry of Tourism (Senegal) that is/was the Ministry of Tourism and Air Transport, and the Ministry of Infrastructure, Land Transport and Opening Up which may/seems to have become the "Ministry of Land and Air Transport"?

What are the most up to date Senegalese government web pages detailing these ministries? WhisperToMe (talk) 19:51, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I found on the Ministry of Infrastructure site that it also mentions a new name "MITTA", and that ministry mentions air accident investigations (dated May 2024), though the headline of the website still uses the MITTD name. WhisperToMe (talk) 19:55, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Green's October 2024 edit-a-thon

[edit]

Hello WikiProject Africa:

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2024!

Running from October 1 to 31, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

We hope to see you there!

Interview request for WP:Signpost newspaper

[edit]

Previously I interviewed participants at different WikiProjects. You can read 3 of my interviews about WikiProjects Israel/Palestine, News and Organized Labour. Concerning this project, the only other related interview was in 2013 covering WikiProject South Africa. I would request interview participants here. In addition to interview format, I would try to provide an overview of the history/contributions of the WikiProject, its country level division of task-forces and perhaps relation to the regional user groups of Wikmedia. I can imagine a realistic deadline of November/December, since this is a larger topic. Do you think this scope makes sense and would be interesting? ~ 🦝 Shushugah (he/him • talk) 14:07, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Recreation of African portals

[edit]

Hello, 5 years ago a bunch of portals for African countries were deleted due to poor maintenance. As I noticed that consensus was to keep Portals for sub national entities of rich White countries with a population a fraction of a fraction of deleted countries (kept with a population under 100,000, deleted with a population over 10 MILLION) I am concerned of this being an example of systemic bias on the part of Wikipedia. If somebody could properly maintain African portals, I believe they would be a net positive for Wikipedia. Cheers, -1ctinus📝🗨 18:56, 17 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@1ctinus, you made a good point, but the problem is: is there any person/s willing to maintain them? I also strongly do not support the deletion of African portals (even though I wasn't then when it happened). Safari ScribeEdits! Talk! 21:34, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
