[edit]- 1779-1780 "The Hard" Winter I've done some research on it and it has been said it's the worst winter in American history. Most notably, the American Army encamped at Morriston recorded at least 26 winter storms, including 6 blizzards. In New York City, the British were able to march from Manhattan to Staten Island with their cannons from how thick the ice was on the Hudson River.[1] Jamisonsupame (talk) 04:27, 10 September 2023 (UTC)

- List of tropical cyclone warning breakpoints
- Ideal info for it would include history of the breakpoints, though just listing the breakpoints could work. Maybe include tropical cyclones which had the largest area of warning breakpoints, breakpoints which were the most common, or breakpoints that were the least common. Unofficial ones could be included, such as Canada breakpoints for the Atlantic basin. If a worldwide viewpoint would be too difficult, it could be List of National Hurricane Center tropical cyclone warning breakpoints or, ideally, a much shorter title. Hurricanehink (talk) 02:33, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- List of Australia tropical cyclones (covering landfalls in a table for each province/territory, general climatology, and having sub-articles for Queensland and Northern Territory)
- List of tropical cyclone that looped A number of Hurricanes off Florida have loop back over their tracks. Some, e.g. Henri 2021, have an open loop that brings the edges of the storm over the same area hours to days apart. A list of these would be useful to our readers. — Lentower (talk) 20:19, 23 August 2021 (UTC)
- Im not personally sure that such a list would be worth it or that useful since a lot of TC's stall like Henri or perform a cyclonic loop like Rewa.Jason Rees (talk) 20:44, 23 August 2021 (UTC)

- Typhoons in Micronesia (including Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, Kiribati, and Marshall Islands, but not Guam or Northern Marianas islands - see above)
- List of typhoons in the Philippines (Pre–1963)
- List of Typhoon names and Replacement Choices - draft - can list a retired name (EX: Haima), and show the provided names (EX for Haima: Mulan, Fengling and Tianma). It can be listed starting from Washi, as that was the first storm to have its replacement choices released. Hato; Hakucho; Kujaku. There it will list the meanings too. We could provide a timeline showing the retired storms from that year.
- I oppose, only because it seems partially redundant to List of retired Pacific typhoon names. We don't usually include the replacement name choices, because they're not always/usually known, but also because it's a little bit trivial. As for meanings, that's usually covered in the individual article, so on the fence if we need an article for the meanings of typhoon names. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 22:40, 20 August 2024 (UTC)
- Storms
- Tropical Storm Maria (2000) - 72 deaths and $317 million in damage
- Tropical Storm Hilda (1999) - the third significant tropical cyclone to affect the Malaysian state of Sabah, following Vamei and Greg.
- Typhoon Rex (1998) - an erratic typhoon that needs its own article due to the long-lived state of the system. Killed 13 and caused moderate damage.
- Tropical Storm Levi (1997) - killed 53 in the Philippines. Possibly more than that.
- Tropical Storm Victor (1997) - killed 65 people (more than that, probably), and caused an estimated amount of $241 million worth of damages.
- Typhoon Amber (1997) - caused $52 million, possibly caused deaths
- Tropical Storm Frankie (1996) - caused 104 fatalities (more than that, probably) and caused $200 million worth of damages
- Tropical Storm Marty (1996) - caused 125 fatalities, 104 missing
- Tropical Depression 35W (1996) - caused 60 fatalities, $138 million in damage

- @Hurricanehink:, @Destroyeraa: I think the creation of these articles, even if they are stubs, could help to deny Sidowpknbkhihj socks from keep adding their versions of these topics into Wikipedia. Main MO of Sidowpknbkhihj socks are to translate their creations from Japanese Wikipedia into English Wikipedia (and their creations are generally typhoons that affected Japan) - and once they do, they won't expand these articles at all. Sometimes, these articles disregard WP:MOS, which led me to clean up some of these articles. If we create them and actually expand these creations, that can help denying them of their work. SMB99thx my edits 04:46, 4 October 2020 (UTC)
- I agree most of these are doable articles, but we should aim for more than stubs to make them. Ideally they will have more content than what's in the season article (which should be easy, since most WPAC seasons are stubs). ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 14:29, 4 October 2020 (UTC)

- @Hurricanehink Yeah I already had this discussion with Weatherwriter and EF5, we're gonna make a List of Oklahoma tornadoes and add a link to the Cleveland County article somewhere, probably the See Also section Apteryx!🐉 | Roar with me!!! 🗨🐲 21:52, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- So there would be articles for the List of Olahoma tornadoes, the List of tornadoes in Cleveland County, and a List of tornadoes in Moore, specifically? That seems a bit too precise for my liking. Even having the county article seems questionable to me, when every other area is either a state, or more internationally, covered at the country or continent level. So how would you propose handling all of them? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 22:01, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Just take all the valuable info and sources from the Cleveland County article, write the Oklahoma article, forget that ti was ever proposed to write an article about Moore, then merge Cleveland County into the Oklahoma article, or send it to AfD to meet it's end Apteryx!🐉 | Roar with me!!! 🗨🐲 22:03, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Sounds like an unnecessarily difficult round-robin. I get that Moore has been hit a few times by devastating tornadoes, but so have other cities in Oklahoma. I guess I'm wondering why all of this interest to focus only on Moore, when there isn't even an article for the whole state at this point. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 22:09, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- That's my point. We can make the article for the whole state and get rid of the Cleveland County article. If the Cleveland County article fails AfD then I'll put in a merge request to merge it into the Oklahoma article. I'm no longer making the Moore article, someone else can do it and link it to the Oklahoma article if they want. I plan to make the Oklahoma article tomorrow, but I already changed the name of the Moore article draft (I changed it to "list of Oklahoma tornadoes) so you can work on it too if you want. - Alright I struck the suggestion for Moore. I'm in the middle of reviewing a GAN and working on another article, so I wish you luck working on a list as big as Oklahoma! I had a lot of difficulty even doing one state (even a fairly easy one), so I know it's gonna take a while, but I'm glad you have more of a state focus than just one particular city. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 22:17, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- Since Oklahoma has seen a massive number of tornadoes, I'm only going to do EF4+ tornadoes, with some exceptions because no one wants to know about every wimpy little EF0-EF2 wind noodle that spun around in a field for five minutes. This will lighten the workload on me, help it pass AfC, and I can just leave a list from the NWS in the Further Reading section that contains reports of the lower-rated tornadoes.
