Why was my article declined?

[edit]

Hello, I am writing because I would like to get more information as to why my proposed article got deleted. I got a notification stating that the page seems to be considered as unambiguous advertising and too promotional and I would like to know if there are certain elements or sections that could be adjusted to better fit Wikipedia's policies. I would also like to know what guidelines to follow so that it is not considered advertising. Thank you very much.---Lucia Madero R. (talk) 05:12, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I need to know why my article was declined, as I make constructive edits. Anyway, the article was not a hoax and I am not a hoaxer on Wikipedia.

Request on 09:00:40, 26 September 2020 for assistance on AfC submission by Arijitshis

[edit]

Hello Anyone! I am from India and that too from a very remotest part of the country called Sunderban.

Recently I have submitted on Articles for creation: SOUTHERN HEALTH IMPROVEMENT SAMITY on 24th September 2020, but unfortunately it was not accepted as it more it read more like an advertisement than an entry in an encyclopedia. Encyclopedia articles need to be written from a neutral point of view, therefore I have changed the said Article on a neutral point of view including referring ranges of independent, reliable, published sources. But still, I am unable to publish the same.

Can someone help me, how to proceed further? I can't have a video conference because the bandwidth I use for the Internet is not sufficient to do so. I need a lot of help.

Arijitshis From your username, I gather that you have an association with this organization. Please read the conflict of interest and paid editing policies for information on formal disclosures you are required to make.
The draft reads as a directory listing an explanation of the organization. Wikipedia articles are not for merely telling about a subject and what it does. An article should only summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about an organization, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization. Significant coverage does not include the organization website, press releases, staff interviews, brief mentions or announcements of routine transactions, or other primary sources. Please read Your First Article for more information. If you just want to tell the world about your organization, you should use social media or other alternative forum. 331dot (talk) 10:34, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

When someone rejects a submission they should provide concrete reasons, not mere generalization.

This is not my personal autobiography, but rather we are a team of Afghans that want to digitize Famous Afgan activists and note their accomplishment for the world to see. So, just to reject an article like that, when we have spent hours to do our research is just disappointing.

AfghanFamousPeople You will need to designate a single person to exclusively operate your account, and grant no one else access to it, each account is for a single person. Wikipedia is not a place to merely document what people have done- articles should summarize what independent reliable sources have chosen to say about a person, showing how they meet the special Wikipedia definition of a notable person. 331dot (talk) 10:30, 26 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hello: thank you for publishing my "1930 Jefferson Law School Lawyers football team" page yesterday. I have three more pages that I've finished, one of them over a month ago, the other two in the last two days: "1918 Camp Perry (WA) football team," "1931 Jefferson University Bobcats football team," and "1932 Jefferson University Rangers football team." When can the Camp Perry article be approved? It should be good to go, so not sure what the delay is. The other two articles, which relate to the 1930 Jefferson Law page that was just published, are they in the right place to be reviewed by your team for publication? I am still learning the ropes on how to use Wikipedia, so some of this gets very confusing. If these articles are not in the right place for your review, where do they need to be? Thank you. I have already given the verifiable sources as below

1. ISBN number of self publication is 9788184653113 and the ISBN number of the Publisher is 978-81-88951-96-3 2. I have given the library references where it is archived in the US (8 libraries) 3. What I understood was that there should be two newspaper review which are there. 4. The book is a bestseller. 5. Its for an exceptionally noble cause ... a book on cancer..

Need to understand why than it is not getting approved.
