[edit]

Hello, the wiki page that I had created was not yet approved, can i know the reason. Also would like to confirm that it was not a copy of any other existing wiki pages. Please take a look at this link: "https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Alpesh_Patel" and let me know is something i should do to go on live.

Thanks in advance!!

16:30:20, 13 May 2015 review of submission by Heatherer

[edit]

Hi there. I submitted an article draft through the AfC process in March. It was initially declined and I resubmitted an edited draft in April, but it still wasn't ready. With the help of editor feedback, I've improved the article, but the editor that has been working with me said they're too busy to give the draft an "official" second review (though they do agree it looks ready for one). My concern is that the draft might be overlooked by others due to all the discussion. Any advice from folks here about next steps? Is it appropriate to section off the old discussion and post a new comment at the top of the draft noting that it still needs input? Thanks!

Heatherer, don't worry -- whoever comes across your article for review will know to scroll down past the comments. I'd leave it as is. Calliopejen1 (talk) 03:30, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am compiling an article regarding Ray Whitley and would like to add a picture of the singer from another website http://accesswdun.com/article/2011/1/235737

How do I go about overcoming the copyright issue if there is one?

Artofwork (talk) 21:07, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Artofwork: It looks like the content on that website is copyrighted, and so you will need the copyright-holder to license the photograph to Wikipedia. The instructions for doing so are found at WP:PERMISSIONS; that page includes sample emails you can send the copyright-holder and an idea of what license to ask for. Once you've secured the copyright-holder's permission, you will need to email Wikimedia with the proof (again, this is detailed at WP:PERMISSIONS), which can take a bit of time since there's a backlog. After emailing Wikimedia, while you wait for a response, you can continue working on the article or contributing elsewhere on Wikipedia. I hope this is helpful. /wia /talk 01:02, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. How do I add a photo to my draft submission? It is a headshot of the twin actors who played Baby Teddy on the T.V. Show scandal. I'm submitting a new article.

PudseyH (talk) 21:11, 13 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@PudseyH: Do you know if the image is already in the Wikimedia Commons? If so, you need only place the picture in the article; there's a good summary of how to do so at WP:PIC. If, on the other hand, you are planning on adding an image that isn't yet stored at Wikimedia Commons, you can use the Upload Wizard. Please be aware, however, that the majority of images you find on the Internet are copyrighted, and usually cannot be uploaded without express permission from the copyright-holder. Take a look at Wikipedia's image use policy for some more information about copyright and images. Thanks, /wia /talk 01:07, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
