Based on a failed proposal. DB1729talk 23:55, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Almost all of links are merely redirects to the network's article, making the navbox violate WP:EXISTING, and making it hinder rather than help a reader's attempts at navigating Wikipedia. There is already a category for American Family Radio stations, that provides easier navigation, as the redirects are italicized. The radio stations whose call signs redirect to the network's article are not independently notable and should not become articles. Tdl1060 (talk) 19:39, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Izno:, that helped identify a couple of pages that should also be redirects and two stations that were included that apparently were not affiliates, but what we are now left with are four stations of the network's 180 that are notable enough to have articles and three affiliates. Either way, this did not really make it useful as a navbox.--Tdl1060 (talk) 16:09, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • American Family Radio is less a radio network with stations and a radio station with transmitters—in other words, there is no local output. The exceptions are stations that had history under other owners, which are what is left, and the independently operated stations that take its programming (apparently these take it for large portions of their broadcast day). The AFR-owned stations are sorted into categories as appropriate. Delete. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 06:12, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

All sub-modules also unused. Gonnym (talk) 17:16, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Gonnym I can't speak for the subpages as DaxServer created those, but I had proposed using this to implement {{Inflation/year}} at Template talk:Inflation/Archive 3#New sandbox version and then forgotten about it. It should be ready to go, so if you're willing to withdraw the nomination I'd like to re-propose it on Template talk:Inflation. --Ahecht (TALK

If you're planning on using it, sure. Are the sub-pages part of your module implementation or will those still be unused? Gonnym (talk) 18:47, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Gonnym The subpages are not used by my implementation, and appear to be instead used by DaxServer's version at Module:Inflation/sandbox. --Ahecht (TALK

Redundant to the better-designed Template:Sticky header. Agreed to replacement in prior discussion at Template talk:Import style#Sticky replacement. Jroberson108 (talk) 12:56, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comment. While replacing transclusions, these classes need to change in the tables: table .is-sticky-head to .sticky-header-multi, and row .is-sticky to table .sticky-header. Sortable table required for .sticky-header-multi. Jroberson108 (talk) 13:16, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Propose merging Template:F1 driver results legend 2 with the above.
There really isn't a reason to have 8 very similar Formula One legend templates and a consistent style should be used to denote the same thing to make it more reader friendly. Additionaly, if this does pass, the templates should be transcluded into the articles they are used on and not linked to. Templates are not articles. Gonnym (talk) 08:24, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep all. The nominator is clearly not informed on the usage of these templates. There very much is a reason for their existence, hence why they all are in use. And that is through proper transclusion. Tvx1 08:57, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The legends themselves are nearly identical. Having one line missing or added to a table (the difference between 8 and 9 for exmple), does not merit having a completely different template. Gonnym (talk) 09:35, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Specifically re 8 vs 9, it would be weird to me to have a key item relevant to sprint races in a season that doesn't have any sprint races or for a driver who never competed in a sprint race in their career. If someone is only interested in F1 seasons in decades gone by and is unfamiliar with modern F1, this would in fact be downright confusing for them. Muzer (talk) 12:18, 16 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment: I don't really want to get involved in why there are several templates in use, but with regard to transcluding the template in each and every article – obviously we can't have a situation where the whole key table is shown in every article. It's too big, bigger than the results table itself in most cases, and it looks terrible. That's why it was linked in the first place. Also, I see some articles have been changed already – it would've been better to have discussed that first, rather than doing some and leaving the majority. Bretonbanquet (talk) 13:19, 10 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep all. We need more than 1 template, because different results tables use different annotations for the same thing, or the same annotation for different things. For example, some tables use a superscript 'P' to indicate pole position, whereas other tables use bold text to indicate pole position. World Championship results tables use a green background to mean "other points finish", whereas non-championship results tables use a green background to mean "other top-6 finish". So if we need 4 or 5 different templates, I don't really think it matters if we have 8. I agree that ideally the templates should be transcluded instead of linked but some of the templates are quite large and some people have expressed the opinion that if transcluded directly into the article, as done here, they take up too much screen real estate. One option is to make them collapsible, as done here. There was a discussion back in 2023 about designing a smaller motorsport key template which could be transcluded without collapsing, but it fizzled out. DH85868993 (talk) 10:46, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep all, for most of the reasons already alluded to above. It is very poor service to our readers to have one huge, sprawling template containing multiple entries that do not apply to the situation under discussion. Keep it simple for the reader wherever possible. In addition, I would also disagree with the need for transclusion, as these are reference legends that can be called if required, and if not they are hidden away and do not draw attention and clutter the page. The argument that they "are not articles" is going to need some more explanation as on its own it makes no sense. Pyrope 15:30, 11 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Speedy keep all – No compelling reason to complicate these templates. Nominator is evidently not familiar with their usage. 5225C (talk • contributions) 02:26, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep all: Some pages still use bold and italics for pole and fastest lap, for drivers/constructors, some use superscript for sprint race results but not all drivers have these. Basically there is a reason to keep all templates! Balenda (talk) 17:20, 12 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
