Mumbai Meetup
[edit]Summary
[edit]As discussed in the Wikipedia:Meetup/Mumbai/Mumbai1 in September 2010, Wikipedians in Mumbai & Suburbs will meet up at least once every month. The meetups are intended to be structured as follows —Introductions, a few focused talks by Wikipedians to share experience / expertise followed by demos and open discussions on topics of common interest.
Wikimedia fellow Liam Wyatt is visiting India and we are using this opportunity to organize events / meetings across India to achieve the following:
- Create greater awareness among wikipedians about GLAM.
- Sharing of Liam's GLAM experiences from various countries.
- Connect with GLAM stakeholders across cities
- Potentially create Special Interest Groups (SIGs) of wikipedians in each of these cities.
India has a wealth of information and knowledge and the GLAM stakeholders can play a key role in making some of that public domain knowledge accessible to all.

Intended Audience
[edit]Wikipedians from any part of India or the world and anyone who is interested in Wikipedia! Meetup is open to members of all Wikimedia projects and Wikipedians from all languages.
The main intention is to get all Wikimedians to learn more about GLAM projects. If you are interested in coming, please add your name below.
Getting there
[edit]Nearest railway station is Santacruz on Western Railway.
It's 10 minutes walking distance from the railway station. If you're coming by rickshaw/taxi you can state your destination as Arya Samaj, Santacruz. The auto can take you through either Linking Road or S V Road.
- On S V Road, take the lane (called North Avenue) directly opposite to Dynasty Chinese Restaurant.
- On Linking Road, take the turn at Tresorie.
You will find a lane opposite Tresorie where the Pinstrom office is the last building. One of us will get there before time and stand there. You can call me on 897-625-3586. I'll try my best with directions. Do keep the address with you for reference.
