First Meetup
[edit]Our first Wikipedia meetup in Calgary[1] took place on Monday, May 15, 2006, 5-7pm(ish), at the Good Earth Café (1502 - 11 Street SW). It was part of a (not much) larger “Calgary Web Technologies Meetup”.
There were four Wikipedians in attendance (please add yourself to this list):
Polls
[edit]Please add your preference for dates/times and locations here:
Location poll
[edit]Please indicate your preferences for the part(s) of the city and types of place (e.g., coffee shop, pub, etc.):
- Inner city (downtown, Connaught, Sunnyside, Kensington, Inglewood, Mission). Non-smoking. Coffee/tea shop. I can make my work space available (Arusha Centre: 106, 223 - 12 Avenue SW) - we often host public meetings there and have a decent net connection (don't know about wireless in the building). —GrantNeufeld 09:46, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- Anyplace near a C-Train station is a-ok -Dr Haggis - Talk 05:38, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- As above, Inner city, C-Train is good. --Crossmr 06:03, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- well, you know i'd have to plug haymarket cafe: downtown, two blocks from stampede/victoria park c-train. frymaster 21:46, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
- Somewhere in the southwest, downtown would work fine, preferebly in some kind of enclosed space.
Climie.ca 20:46, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
- Lancaster Building downtown is good. Connected to TD Square (somewhere around Play, Rogers and those), near to food court with hotspot available. Calvinhrn 06:07, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- Eau Claire is good... not too long before it's gone though. --Carlsonmark 20:05, 18 September 2007 (UTC)
- Prefer downtown but can live with "anywhere". Coffee shops are good.
Date/time poll
[edit]Please indicate the days of week and time of day you would prefer for our Meetups:
- Mondays & Fridays anytime; Saturday & Sunday afternoon. —GrantNeufeld 09:46, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
- Most Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursday evenings. -Dr Haggis - Talk 05:40, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Any evenings, any weekends. -- Derek Ross | Talk 18:03, 18 May 2006 (UTC)
- Anytime of day is good for the sumemr. Fall is evenings/weekends. --Crossmr 06:04, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- Has to be on weekends or Friday afternoon, since I'm at school during the week
- Anytime on Tuesdays or Saturdays is fine. Calvinhrn 06:04, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
- I'm free whenever, as long as I see it in advance (bad habit of not checking my user page very often) --Carlsonmark 22:31, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Anytime
