Original – The only photographic documentation of Jimmy Carter's encounter with a swimming rabbit, an incident that led to significant press debate in 1979.
Reason
Picture it: Plains, Georgia, 1979. You're president, and you want to take a bit of time to relax. Suddenly, out of nowhere, you're beset upon by a rabbit. You shoo it away with a paddle, but your photographer got a shot. You decide to tell it as a funny story, and word gets out, and all of a sudden you're being presented as off your rocker. You decide not to publicize the only picture of the incident, but your successor decides to have fun with it. That is the Jimmy Carter rabbit incident, and now to talk about the criteria: high resolution digital quality of an image that never was officially released. It shows its age, to be sure; some highlights are blown, with the camera unable to handle the darkness of the forest and the bright light on carter. But it is a unique historical document, which I believe excuses the technical shortcomings.
