- rv; sorry. This kind of venue-shopping works directly against the concept of centralized discussion. Let the current poll work itself out as it will. John Reid 03:18, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- a couple of reversions later it's out I think. ++Lar: t/c 05:51, 3 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]2006 Sep 13
[edit]- replace Wikipedia:Requests for adminship is not a vote with WikiProject on Adminship, the centralized discussion that has subsumed it. The former page is now linked on the latter. John Reid 09:32, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
- rename German de-adminship solution (poll) to Temporary Deadminship to avoid bias risk. The proposal itself is linked on the WikiProject. John Reid 10:14, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]- De-adminship strawpoll was a redlink so I removed it. Yomanganitalk 23:48, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]- Added Wikipedia:Protecting children's privacy poll John254 21:05, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- Removed since voting on policy proposals is a Bad Idea. By the way, unless somebody explains to me what the point is of this log (as opposed to the regular history tab), I'm going to deprecate it next week. HAND. >Radiant< 21:43, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
- Kindly permit the log to fulfill its function. It works well and enjoys wide support. Thank you. John Reid 05:52, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

- Re-added information about Wikipedia:Protecting children's privacy, but this time as a reference to the discussion on the talk page, with no reference to voting whatsoever. John254 21:55, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]- move Wikipedia talk:Protecting children's privacy to Discussions and delete redundant section. Note that all discussions on Cent are policy discussions. No need to highlight this issue. John Reid 06:00, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
2006 Sep 25
[edit]- rm Process for adminship -- Sorry; but this general issue has a centralized discussion page, WikiProject on Adminship; this page is already advertised on Cent; and the new proposal in question is now linked from there. John Reid 01:36, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- There are several entries in the template that have concluded, or have been accepted as "historical" (as opposed to those still in contention), such as spoiler warnings, and the admin accountability poll. I might suggest that someone go through and double check all the entries list on the template to see how "current" they are. - jc37 18:01, 25 September 2006 (UTC)
- move Sidebar Redesign to old
- move Apartheid to old
- move Fair use images in lists to old
- rm Historical information ()
- rm Maltese nobility ()
- rm Political subdivisions of New York ()
- rm Method Engineering ()
- rm Removing warnings ()
- rm Rollback privileges ()
- rm Deny recognition ()
- rm Admin accountability poll ()
well we have to clean out the 'old' section some time, there's really no point in having things on there for several months, the section should really be called, and iirc used to be called, 'recently concluded'
- How did these discussions conclude? Was any consensus reached? If so, what? John Reid 01:58, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit]- (note) I'm catching up on the log-archive-to-conclusions routine and I see that Removing warnings is up on Cent for the third time, this time since 2006 Aug 25. It's been up previously as Wikipedia:Removing warnings and Wikipedia:Removing warnings poll (both rejected); now it's back as a Cent subpage. Discussion has been extensive but there is no consensus.
- My feeling is that discussions should not recycle through Cent template. A discussion may stand indefinitely on a Cent subpage but we cannot give air to it on the template forever. Unless there's a new development, I intend to pull this onto Old Discussions in a week or two and pull it off entirely a week or two after that -- and if it comes back a 4th time, sorry but it's already had it's fair share of air. John Reid 11:51, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- changed German userbox solution to Userbox migration (target page moved) John Reid 15:32, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit]- add Galleries (new policy proposal, not a recycle of the previous discussion)
- change Attribution combining WP:V and WP:NOR to Attribution (actual page name) -- In general, I favor the shortest unambiguous title for Cent display.
2006 Oct 16
[edit]- move Spoiler warnings to old (closed RfC)
- move WikiProject on Adminship (largely inactive, subproposals largely rejected)
- add RfArb as sub of Protecting children's privacy (RfArb requested)
- Moved Ref reform to old discussions from the straw poll section. Radiant has added the historical tag to the poll, so I figure it's not a current poll. I wasn't sure whether old straw polls go in the old discussions section, but someone can always fix that if it's wrong. Hiding Talk 18:04, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- Further discussion of makeover moved to Template talk:Cent#One-column makeover.

- Makeover in style of Template:Cent/blank. John Reid ° 02:55, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
Rm the following; we no longer keep old stuff in template by default:
- Blanking (essayified)
- Ref reform (feature request, historical)
- WikiProject on Adminship (active with lots of subpages and related discussions; not centralized)
- Spoiler warnings (archived, polarized)
- Sidebar Redesign (stalled)
- Apartheid (ongoing discussion, consensus unclear)
- Fair use images in lists (opposed)
Move State route naming conventions to /Conclusions: reward for success in achieving consensus.
John Reid ° 03:46, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Rm all UBX pages. Both active proposals have strong support and they no longer conflict; merge candidates. John Reid ° 04:30, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
