Editing archived Ref Desk pages
[edit]While this is generally discouraged, I've done it, on rare occasions. If I'm in the process of editing, when it's archived, I might go ahead and finish my edit there. Or, if I think of something I said wrong, etc., I may go fix it. But this would only be recently archived pages. Once archived for a long time, nobody is likely to read it, so it's pointless to update it. Instead, open a new question on the Ref Desk. StuRat (talk) 00:06, 8 October 2017 (UTC)

[edit] You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Chimpanzee. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Toddst1 (talk) 00:32, 8 October 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your contributions. Please mark your edits as "minor" only if they are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Doug Weller talk 19:12, 13 November 2017 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Harry Davis (cinematographer)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Harry Davis (cinematographer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — IVORK Discuss 01:52, 13 June 2018 (UTC)

History of haptic technology
[edit]The 1959 film The Tingler featured a gimmick called “Percepto!”, a vibrating device in a small number of theater chairs which activated with the onscreen action. In September of 1994, the Aura Interactor vest was developed. The vest is a wearable force-feedback device that monitors an audio signal and uses electromagnetic actuator technology to convert bass sound waves into vibrations that can represent such actions as a punch or kick. The vest plugs into the audio output of a stereo, TV, or VCR and the audio signal is reproduced through a speaker embedded in the vest. In November of the same year, the 4-D film Honey, I Shrunk the Audience! simulated mice breaking loose and running through the auditorium. In order to simulate the sensation of a pack of escaped mice, air is pumped through a little plastic tube causing it to wildly flail and mimic the sensation of mice tails brushing the legs of audience members. [edit]Your user page
[edit]Hello Yellow Sunstreaker, (by the way your username reminds me of the Transformers character Sunstreaker, who is also yellow),
Way back in October 2019 you seem to have written an article on your user page and shortly thereafter blanked the page. I assume you wrote the article on your user page by mistake. Do you wish to have your user page deleted, or let it stay? JIP | Talk 03:17, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
You’re right on the money, that’s actually where I got my user name! I got it from the Transformers character and his color.
Could you actually delete my user page? I don’t know how to do it. I did write the article on my user page by mistake. Thank you, I appreciate it. Yellow Sunstreaker (talk) 04:10, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
- Only administrators can delete pages, that is probably why you could not do it. I have deleted your user page for you. JIP | Talk 10:33, 29 August 2021 (UTC)
ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message
[edit]The article Eve in a Summer Dress has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No significance seen with zero coverage.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Timothytyy (talk) 04:02, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
