As you have probably seen, the article was rejected on the basis of apparent lack of notability. If there are any reliable sources out there that I haven’t included in the article that help to build further notability, then they would be most welcome! Refdesk reply

[edit]

Hi, I've seen your answer at WP:RDS regarding UV radiation! Thanks! On the mentioned site of FDA I've also noticed a sentence re the "limited published data" regarding the subject. How can this aspect be dealed with to get more info from ongoing research projects and testing labs?--86.124.193.84 (talk) 01:32, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not the most qualified person to ask, I'd check with the refdesk again. {{u|Squeeps10}} {Talk} Please ping when replying. 02:08, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Re the ping, I do not quite understand how it works.--86.124.193.84 (talk) 13:25, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You just type {{u|Example}}, replacing "Example" with the username of the person you want to ping. Since you're editing under an IP address, not an account, you can't be pinged, but I believe you can ping other people. If you want to receive pings, you'll have to create an account. Let me know if you have any more questions. {{u|Squeeps10}} {Talk} Please ping when replying. 17:51, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging CSD G13s

[edit]

Hello, Squeeps10,

I don't know if you'll be doing much tagging of stale drafts, but if you live in the U.S., please be aware that the U.S. is on Daylight Savings Time now but six months ago, it was on Standard Time. So, there is a one hour time difference between the time schedule for today (July 7th) and that of six months ago (January 7th). That means that a draft whose last human edit was 4 pm, January 7, 2021 can be tagged for speedy deletion at 5 pm, July 7, 2021. And this arrangement will be switched around in the fall when the U.S. goes back to Standard Time. There is really only a short period of time in the year when the time schedule for the current day is the same as it was six months ago.

The reason why observing this difference is important is that there are probably a dozen editors and admins who actively work with expiring drafts and it's important that everyone is on the same page. Wikipedia is on UTC time so it can help if you have the current UTC time displayed on your Wikipedia menu. I'm not sure of the script or setting but I'm sure someone would know at the Teahouse. Also, if you make use of SDZeroBot's G13 lists, they are displayed on UTC which doesn't change over the course of the year so that is a way you can check if you're tagging drafts too early or an hour late. Thank you! Liz Read! Talk! 21:15, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Liz: Ah, I thought it was weird that the bot hadn't added those to the category yet. I forgot about the time difference. Though quite frankly I doubt an hour will make a difference for a draft that no one has touched in some 4,392 hours. I've set Wikipedia to display local time for convenience reasons and have no plans to change it back. That being said, the setting is buried somewhere in the Preferences menu.
We have had discussions like this before, I believe they can be found further up on my talk page or one of the archives. {{u|Squeeps10}} {Talk} Please ping when replying. 00:03, 8 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
