Nella Domenici is an American finance professional and politician.[1] She is the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate to represent New Mexico in the 2024 election. She is the daughter of former Senator Pete Domenici.

Early life and education

Nella Domenici was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She earned a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University, a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, and a graduate degree from Harvard Business School.[2]

She served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Bridgewater Associates from 2015 to 2018, and as CFO of Dataminr from 2020-2021.[3]

2024 Senate election

In 2024, Domenici announced her candidacy for the U.S. Senate to represent New Mexico.[4][5] She is running as a member of the Republican Party.[6]. As the only Republican candidate to file to run, she won the primary election unopposed, and will face incumbent Senator Martin Heinrich in the general election.

During the campaign, she gave no interviews and made limited campaign appearances, prompting criticism from both parties.[7]

Personal life

Domenici and her husband, Patrick McDonough, reported between $21 million and $94 million in assets in a Senate financial disclosure in May 2024.[8]
