X2 Film Title

Hey Wildroot, I have a request for the X2 (film) article, since it was you who agreed with me on the talk page about changing the film title to "X2: X-Men United" since that is the original title from the original country which made it. Maybe if you can convince Alientraveller user to revert the title to its natural title, the title from the country in which it was made. I do not have a user page here, and my IP address has changed, but I still would like attention to this issue. Thanks for any help you may give. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.120.70.108 (talk) 07:10, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:GeorgeDrewSam.jpg)

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:GeorgeDrewSam.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 04:05, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Contact (film)

Hi. I noticed that you recently nominated Contact for GA. I'm concerned about the "Science and religion" section, which appears to cite only one source when many are required, especially the quotes. I can't think of a GA article that doesn't cite their quotes directly. If I was to review this article, I would immediately fail it, so I'm leaving you this message in the hopes that you will add the references before a reviewer gets to it. Thanks. Viriditas (talk) 00:41, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

No worries. It's a great film, and I'm a big fan of the montage/editing which really makes it stand out from other films of its class. Arthur Schmidt knows what he is doing, and when I'm watching Contact, I'm watching a master at work. Viriditas (talk) 02:10, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from 12 Monkeys. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. JeffJ (talk) 05:52, 19 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I am reviewing Mars Attacks! for GA and have left a few comments at Talk:Mars Attacks!/GA1. I think the article is well written and will have no problem passing GA. Regards, —Mattisse (Talk) 16:43, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

The first release date needs to be listed. You quote this guideline for removing and so do I for including it.

The film's earliest release, whether it was at a film festival or a public release.

X-Men films under retention

Hi, just to let you know that as X-Men Origins: Wolverine has now come out, you have 3 months, or until 30 July, to get it to GA, or else the topic can be nominated for removal. Hope that's okay - rst20xx (talk) 23:17, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi, I passed Contact (film) as a GA, since all it needed was a little copy editing, so I did that rather than list a bunch of nitpicky things. Please feel free to correct any mistakes I made. Congratulations! Regards, —Mattisse (Talk) 23:33, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

GA Sweeps invitation

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am sending you this message since you are listed as a GA reviewer. I would like to invite you to consider helping with the GA sweeps process. Sweeps helps to ensure that the oldest GAs still meet the criteria, and improve the quality of GAs overall. Unfortunately, last month only two articles were reviewed. This is definitely a low point after our peak at the beginning of the process when 163 articles were reviewed in September 2007. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. All exempt and previously reviewed articles have already been removed from the list. Instead of reviewing by topic, you can consider picking and choosing whichever articles interest you.

We are always looking for new members to assist with the remaining articles, so if you are interested or know of anybody that can assist, please visit the GA sweeps page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. If only 14 editors achieve this feat starting now, we would be done with Sweeps! Of course, having more people reviewing less articles would be better for all involved, so please consider asking others to help out. Feel free to stop by and only review a few articles, something's better than nothing! Take a look at the list, and see what articles interest you. Let's work to complete Sweeps so that efforts can be fully focused on the backlog at GAN. If you have any questions about the process, reviewing, or need help with a particular article, please contact me or OhanaUnited and we'll be happy to help. --Happy editing! Xmen revert.

regarding this reversion. I took a look at the 'citation', and while the exact 'facts' the IP put up were untrue, Janet Jackson does state unequivocally that Singer did solicit her, with a tour of the pre-production, with the role of Storm, but that she was unable to take it due to touring schedule conflicts. Thoughts? ThuranX (talk) 04:46, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Done. Short and simple. A few conversations 10 years ago aren't too notable, but we do have an interview as citation, so it's in in the simplest form. ThuranX (talk) 05:27, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

I realize you have done a great deal of work in rewriting this article, so before instituting any massive changes, I have posted a note on the talk page. Some revisions that can be incorporated, especially in the ref/cites, are found in this new version. Please see: [1] (still in development). FWiW Bzuk (talk) 23:44, 28 May 2009 (UTC).

Agree with you but....

Wildroot, I support your reversion of the listing of the cast of Superman, but whoever altered it (not me), was probably motivated by the actual opening credits of the film, which actually does list Marlon Brando first and Christopher Reeve third, merely due to CR being a relative unknown at the time even though he was the main character. Bizarre Hollywood politics. Fortunately, more rational thinking prevailed in the Brandon Routh film.--WickerGuy (talk) 17:24, 7 June 2009 (UTC)

Year in Film

Wildroot, without question you have done some outstanding work contributing to Wiki...my simple but positive contribution to your article only add to it's nomenclature and for a repository of films when seeking 'what links here'. If allow, it's nice to see films in the year they were released. I meant no vandalism and only want to enhance what is already known. Big Fish GA

Why did you move Talk:Big Fish/GA1 to Talk:Big Fish/GA2? There is nothing at Talk:Big Fish/GA1 and never was anything there. Just because it is the reassessment isn't a valid reason to move it. The old GAs weren't done in separate pages, so not sure what is going on? Meanwhile, I've undone this as it is inconsistent with the many others. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 01:32, 22 June 2009 (UTC)

Forrest Gump

Thanks for reviewing the article so quickly, I appreciate it. I had spent the last few days improving it, and actually hadn't seen the film in a while. So after nominating the article, I watched the film, and when I came back, you had already passed it! I've listed it at the July improvement drive page, so hopefully its joined by other articles from other members. Anyway, thanks again! --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 04:58, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for adding that, I hadn't found anything for the previous directors (another one was initially attached). While looking for additional sources, I just found more details saying that Bubba's role was also offered to David Alan Grier and Ice Cube. That would have been an interesting choice, but not as much as Dave Chappelle! --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 05:25, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
I would have liked to see the film directed again with all of the other casting choices to see how the film would have turned out. It would have been really interesting to see Travolta with Chappelle. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 05:31, 4 July 2009 (UTC)

{{FilmUS}} and such

The main reason I use these templates is because it gives a more specific meaning to what a "country" a film belongs to, and it automatically sorts this film into the respective categories: Category:American films etc. BOVINEBOY2008 05:29, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Alternative text for images in film articles

Hey, I've been notifying primary editors of GAs and FAs under WikiProject Films to add alternative text for images. I think you're a special case, having generated so many Good Articles for the WikiProject, and I doubt you want to add alternative text to all your contributions on your own. Are you interested in adding the text at all? I'm not commanding you to do anything, but I'd like the GAs and FAs to have alternative text in the long run. If you want to take a certain approach with this, like one GA a day or just a couple a week or whatever, let me know. I'll be happy to help out. —Erik (talkcontrib) 18:45, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

The article Larry Wilson (writer) has been proposed for deletion. The proposed-deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. WP:FILMS' Tag & Assess Drive and Roll Call

A tag has been placed on File:The Boss-Flash copy.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ww2censor (talk) 06:09, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

File source problem with File:The Boss Flash.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:The Boss Flash.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 06:20, 19 November 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ww2censor (talk) 06:20, 19 November 2009 (UTC)

Hello Wildroot! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 7 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to insure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 3 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

I removed the addition of the {{Talk header}} per the documentation: "This template is a signpost. It is intended to be used on particularly active talk pages that attract commentary from inexperienced editors, and/or high levels of debate from everyone." As you can see from the talk page, it is fairly quiet. Viriditas (talk) 08:12, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
