editing Vikash Maharaj page
Hi Widr,
I have cited all the true things about Vikash Maharaj. I have provided the links to the topic applied in my editions. kindly let me know what do you want me to add or provide?
Prabhash — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prabhashmaharaj (talk • contribs) 11:15, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Prabhashmaharaj: That is not true. All your additions remain unsourced and therefore they are unacceptable for a BLP article. Widr (talk) 11:21, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
Kindly have a look if it's ok. .. if not kindly guide me to make it better.
Pandit Vikash Maharaj (Sarod Player/Music Composer), born in 1957 as 14th generations of musician in prestigious & oldest musician family in Varanasi, India. 38 years of his successful International music career gave him opportunities to perform and record with many internationally recognized musicians like John Handy, David Friesen, Paul Horn, Patrick Bebelaar, Prof. Ban Konrad, Tom Bailey, Wise Guys (A cappella Band). In 2014, U.P. State Government of India has honored him with highest Civilian Award “YASH BHARATI” for his extraordinary contributions in Indian classical Music.Vikash Maharaj started his Sarod lesson from Guru Sri Rajesh Chandra Moitra of the prestigious Maihar Gharana. As he belongs to a family of great performers and teachers such as his grand father Pandit Bade Ramdas ji, Pandit Kanthe Maharaj, father Pandit Nanhku Maharaj, uncle Pandit Kishan Maharaj, one can see in his Sarod performance and teaching as excellent combination of ‘Swar’ (Tone) and ‘Laya’ (Rythum).
If this is ok with WIKIPEDIA copyright system kindly revert it to the page. Thanking you
- @Prabhashmaharaj: It's not possible to guide you to make it better, because everything is still unreferenced. The tone is also very unencyclopedic. I would suggest that you do not make changes to the article at all before you learn the basics of how Wikipedia articles should be edited. Widr (talk) 13:21, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
Thanks!! But if you are able to provide basic info of his carrier. plz do so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prabhashmaharaj (talk • contribs) 15:36, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
Be honest: that was not at all what you were expecting, was it? —ATinySliver/ATalkPage 23:13, 7 March 2015 (UTC)
- @ATinySliver: Let's just say that I didn't have very high hopes when I clicked on it. ;-) Widr (talk) 23:51, 7 March 2015 (UTC)
When you have a moment: if you came across this article in GAN, what would be your comments? —ATinySliver/ATalkPage 06:31, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
- @ATinySliver:GAN is one of the areas that I'm not really interested in, unfortunately. Widr (talk) 15:13, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
- Okay, cool. —ATinySliver/ATalkPage 19:22, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
Copy Editing
Hi, I was doing some basic copy editing and came across a few phrases in the article "Degiorio (Family Name)" that were a little unclear and had a few commas that were not necessary. I did not mean to vandalise your page at all, but thanks for notifying me about this.
Regards, Trumpet21 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trumpet21 (talk • contribs) 09:00, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Trumpet21: Hi. Based on your other work, I see it was a good-faith edit, but it looks a bit weird. Maybe you misclicked or removed too much text? See here. Widr (talk) 09:11, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
Can see now that there I had spelt a few things funny. Thanks again for notifying me!

Sorry Widr
@Widr: Sorry Widr, am I wrong or what happened? Is it broken or anything? Please reply. Jaspergeli (talk) 09:24, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Jaspergeli: Hi. Please open a new discussion on the talk page if you want to change something. Widr (talk) 09:28, 17 March 2015 (UTC)@
@Widr: How to change? I don't know how. Jaspergeli (talk) 09:29, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Jaspergeli: What do you want to change? Widr (talk) 10:07, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
COINTELPRO
I was the one that originally added that. I was wondering if it would be possible to remove it? Thanks JamesRBWilliams (talk) 22:52, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
- This was the edit that I reverted, probably your misclick? Otherwise, feel free to edit the article as you wish. Widr (talk) 08:18, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
Your Message of January 2015
[Regarding your warnings on my user talk page: I am not a spambot, a vandal, nor am I a destructive user. Somehow my account was compromised starting from April of 2013. Since then, I have hardly used Wikipedia. After trying to log on yesterday (19.03.2015) and realizing the account had been blocked, and after a whole day of trouble-shooting with the help of nice Admins, it seems that things are almost back to normal. I will, therefore, be cleaning up my user talk page, as the myriad warnings and threats do not pertain to any activity that I, myself, have engaged in. Alternatively, if you would prefer to delete your comments yourself, that would be great. Thank you!]CissterSledge (talk) 10:06, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Cisster sledge: Can you point me to those warnings I have left on your talk page? I don't see any. Widr (talk) 10:36, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Cisster sledge: Now I see that you are referring to the block received by IP address. That has nothing do to with your account, as IPs can be shared. Widr (talk) 10:44, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
I'm not even really sure how this whole Wiki-world works yet. I just saw a barrage of warnings regarding my IP address and the citations listed have nothing to do with me. Not sure why I cannot delete the myriad citations without another uproar from the various admins, but I guess I'll figure it out! CissterSledge (talk) 10:54, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Cisster sledge: We all learn the ropes as we go along, nothing to worry about there. Staying logged in should prevent you from seeing warnings meant for anonymous IP editors. Happy editing. Widr (talk) 11:07, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

how am I vandalising
how am I vandalizing all I am doing is improving the page at https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/King_David_School
I have only organized the page making it neater and more accurate by saying there is another king david school in Scottsdale although it has no wiki page. I do not see how I have vandalized the page considering I completely overhauled the page with sections and information about the page and I do not understand why everybody is reverting the change of the Scottsdale school section to make it nonexistent. After all its a Wikipedia page its for information not necessarily only links.

sorry I understand now I didn't notice it was a disambiguation page (or what one was) but I seriously wasn't spamming. If you think necessary please can you delete my vandalism warning. --XXGADGET135XX (talk) 11:50, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Better late than never, one might say. I will remove the warning. Widr (talk) 11:55, 25 March 2015 (UTC)

Pandit Vikash Maharaj
Hi Widr, i just have made a small correction of the day of birth of Pandit Vikash Maharaj, which was wrong. and added a new award that he received this week. Since i have been not adding anything bymyself. kindly remove the warning of page edited by close person from the page. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prabhashmaharaj (talk • contribs) 20:29, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Done. In future, please follow the talk page instructions at the top of the page ("Put new text under old text. Click here to start a new topic."), thanks. Widr (talk) 20:45, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Lists
I am a new user and my skills are not quite good yet. I have created lists because I find it too difficult to create proper tables, which would obviously be better for the purpose. I have tried to even copy tablles from other articles but it hasn't quite worked. My lists include information about Discography, which is relevant. "Co-write" is the only word I know to describe that a song has been co-written and have seen it used elsewhere, but if you have a better suggestion please let me know. Also, I am no native so that's why my english is not perfect. I am aware there might be mistakes and things could be phrased much better. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yesanna (talk • contribs) 13:41, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Yesanna: Hi Yesanna. I'm not a native English speaker either, but I think that "co-writer" might be a more suitable word to use. As for those lists that you have added to articles, I think it would be better if you would include this information into the bodies of those articles, with some nice references of course. I personally don't think that we really need to list all possible songs that these songwriters have written or co-written, unless they are truly notable globally (which most of these Finnish musicians unfortunately are not yet). Widr (talk) 16:00, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Widr:Hi. Yes, I understand. Obviously all of these songs are not notable globally and in most cases none of them. Co-writer would be a better word I agree. I will go through these articles.
Marked As Vandalism
Hey Widr, I got marked for vandalism on the Peter Beard Wikipedia page. My initial plan was to put the base of the the page up and place my citations up the next day, but it was checked before that so now it looked like I edited a page with no evidence or primary sources. I already reported to the bot that the mistake was mine and now I have the cite version of my content, can you give me any ideas of how I would place that up and not immediately be marked as vandalism like a I am being marked as now? Thanks again! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Quiksite (talk • contribs) 19:37, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Quiksite: I would suggest you try to add your references while you are editing the article, because unsourced additions will usually get reverted sooner or later. You should also use the preview button before saving the page, so you can see how the article will look like after you are finished. Widr (talk) 19:58, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Widr:Thanks for filling me in Widr, do you think there's a way to get rid of the strike I have on me at the moment?
- @Quiksite: You don't have any strikes on your account, just those warnings on your talk page, but you are free to remove them. Happy editing. Widr (talk) 20:58, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

User: Shivanshsinghrajpoot
Re your warning on Shivanshsinghrajpoot's talk page, can you provide a diff please? English is not this user's first language, and it may be a case of good intentions instead of outright intentional vandalism. I'd just like to be sure that there is a real problem caused by something other than a language barrier. Mjroots (talk) 09:57, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Mjroots: I reverted this edit. Surely it's not vandalism per se, but Twinkle doesn't have a "final warning" for general disruptive editing, as far as I know. Considering that the user has been asked not to write in all capital letters since December and still continues to do so, I fear, in addition to the language barrier, that we might also be dealing with a lack of competence here. Widr (talk) 10:39, 30 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you Widr. You may not be aware, but I raised this editor with the Trains WikiProject and Indian Wikipedian's notice board earlier today. Hopefully with a bit of guidance we will all be able to work together. Mjroots (talk) 15:03, 30 March 2015 (UTC)

Why am I getting warned
Why am I getting warned when other people are calling everyone names. The one man is calling people an idiot and an ass. I tried to undo this. I am new to wikipedia. Cavalierman (talk) 05:56, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Cavalierman: What are you talking about? Regarding the warning, please read the link about neutral point of view. Widr (talk) 06:03, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
But the article is untrue and then the man was calling people names! HEre chekc out this link: https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Talk:A_Rape_on_Campus&diff=next&oldid=655421764 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cavalierman (talk • contribs) 06:05, 8 April 2015 (UTC)
- I have no opinion on the subject itself, but all additions on Wikipedia should be properly sourced. Talk page is indeed the best place to discuss the content of the article. Widr (talk) 06:18, 8 April 2015 (UTC)

Rebel Heart
How about you speak WHAT THE PROBLEM WITH THE PRODUCERS OF THE ALBUM instead of having to send threat of block and these antics?
- Your talk page is filled with warnings of adding unsourced content. Those messages also include links that you need to read. If you are unable to provide sources for your additions, do not add them at all. With all the edit-warring and sockpuppeteering, you are really close to getting blocked. Widr (talk) 15:02, 11 April 2015 (UTC)

Name Game
Hi, Widr. You seem to have undid my edit on the Mount Parker (Philippines) page, citing that it did not appear to be constructive.
Just so you know, I am a Filipino editing a page about the Philippines. I made the correction because the information presented on the page reflected a foreigner's point of view, referring to a Philippine geographical feature using a name used by Americans. I edited it to reflect the Filipino name for a Philippine geographical feature, with the American name still stated in the body. I had already edited the body and was about to edit the page name when you undid my changes. I and my countrymen would appreciate it if you would not insist on applying a foreign name to one of our places.
Thanks.
- I would suggest you discuss this issue on the talk page of the article to gain consensus. I suppose there is a reason why the article was originally named Mount Parker, so changing the title might possibly be controversial. Also, please sign your messages with four tildes (~) like the instructions at the top of the page say. Thanks. Widr (talk) 11:27, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
Deletion
Hello, I see you have deleted my edit to the Human Trafficking article claiming it was vandalism. I have valid reason to that edit: one (there may be more that I have not noticed) are in the "trafficking is not illegal and commonly practiced". Out of curiosity I researched about it. Trafficking is illegal in the country, so to put an image claiming the opposite is misleading information that only results in Wikipedia being less reliable. This is a serious issue, which is why I edited. Please do understand. Do not hesitate to reply and discuss this with me, I want Wikipedia to be reliable not biased (I have seen several articles that are so) Thank YouInfor4fun (talk) 04:50, 23 April 2015 (UTC)Infor4fun

One-game playoff revert
Hi - was it a bot of yours that reverted my edit on One-game playoff? If so, was it because of the...poorly-aged name of the event in question? 199.20.117.24 (talk) 13:24, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, I undid the edit in question. Apologies. And yes, it indeed was the B word that I kind of... misread. Widr (talk) 13:37, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
- No problem - it's completely understandable. Thanks. 199.20.117.24 (talk) 13:43, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Please be careful with BLPs
Hi there. Your recent edit at John Nicolson (journalist) re-added controversial and uncited information about a living person which had been correctly removed. Please be careful when editing that you avoid doing this in the future. Stifle (talk) 16:23, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
- @Stifle: Actually I had intended to remove the good-faith commentary left by the IP. Sometimes you miss something and/or add something back by mistake when using anti-vandalism tools such as STiki. That's human, unfortunately. I did a quick Google search, and it seems that the person in question has at least at some point lived in Spitalfields, so it's not all made up. Unsourced—like several other parts of the article—and possibly incorrect, yes, but hardly "defamatory" (hence the warning you have left to the IP that had originally added that piece as their one and only edit). Widr (talk) 17:17, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
Kings and Queens
Can you explain how the fact that "30 Seconds to Mars" is not the official name of the band (as noted in this discussion) is not a valid reason to rename File:30 seconds to mars kings and queens.png?--Earthh (talk) 09:30, 4 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Earthh: I don't think this file meets the criteria, since files shouldn't generally be renamed purely for cosmetic reasons. It's pretty obvious for everyone what band and which song we are talking about. If you disagree, you are of course welcome to get a second opinion. Widr (talk) 10:01, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

Vandalism
Hey @Widr: recently you reverted this Ip. I just want to go ahead and have on record that they are probably also this person and this person. Based on one, two, and three. BlueworldSpeccie (talk) 19:40, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- @BlueworldSpeccie: Thanks for the heads up. I just requested temporary page protection for the article. Widr (talk) 19:47, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for your message. First of all, can we *please* take this to the Talk page for the article, rather than on our own Talk pages, so that everyone can participate. Secondly, User:Maintrance should use the Talk page instead of WP:Edit war. Per WP:BRD, he made a bold edit, I reverted, and so then it should go to the Talk page. Finally, as for the actual disagreement, Ziegler is the soloist in the video. The entire video is just Ziegler dancing to Sia's vocal. It seems to me that it belongs on her article as much as Sia's. I feel less strongly about the Dance Moms award, even though Ziegler is primarily responsible for the success of that show. But the most important thing is that Maintrance should learn not to edit war. If you look at his/her edit summaries, I think you will find them problematic. I will happily go with the majority if there is a discussion on the Talk page. I'm going to delete your message from my Talk page, as the discussion belongs on the article's Talk page. All the best! -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:54, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Ssilvers: Well, if you feel strongly about it, you can always start that discussion yourself; after all, you are the one who introduced the info to the article. I don't see much of edit warring, just a mild content dispute. And if there is warring, there are always two editors doing it. Widr (talk) 18:15, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
STiki gets it wrong
Fiat Jolly's additions to the Renault 4CV article that were reverted via STiki as vandalism were in fact legitimate, so something went wrong there. Thanks, Awien (talk) 01:44, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- @Awien: They blanked the article, and that was reverted. By the way, STiki is an anti-vandalism tool, not a bot. Widr (talk) 04:43, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
- Oops, I misunderstood - sorry! Also, I live and learn, this time about tools. Cheers, Awien (talk) 11:22, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
