AfD for Tony Marano

I am very curious why you added deletion sorting tags for Connecticut and New York on this AfD. The article subject is from Texas, and I have not seen anything about him that has to do with CT or NY. More particularly, there was another Tony Marano from CT who was killed in a car accident, and that person is the main google hit for that name. Risker (talk) 05:09, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The article, as it currently stands, says Born in the State of Connecticut, Marano moved to the Brooklyn, New York City when he was a few months old and lived there for 30 years. It then goes on to say After retiring in 2006, he moved to Dallas, Texas, where he has lived for the past 36 years. I generally base deletion sorting on what the article says; if it didn't mention Connecticut or New York at all, I wouldn't sort accordingly, but it does. (Though claiming that it has been "36 years" since 2006 probably puts any other assertion there into question…) WCQuidditch ☎ ✎ 05:44, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that whole article is kind of wonky. Fair enough, although I'm not sure that someone whose supposed notability only happened after he moved to Texas would need those other two locations. Is being born in a place enough to add it to the deletion sort? Seems a bit unlikely in this case, but okay. Risker (talk) 06:12, 19 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
