News Music

I noticed that, on April 26, 2010, you stated on the WGRZ history page that "…for that matter, it has been established that we shouldn't be listing the news music packages". Where, why, and how has that been established? It would seem to me that news music is as much a part of "News/Station Presentation" as Newscast Titles and Station Slogans. Thank you for your time. Joefridayquaker (talk) 23:08, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

This issue has come up several times in the WikiProject Television Stations talk page. Each time (in September 2006, March 2009, and February 2010), it appears to have been concluded that listing a station's news music in the station's article shouldn't be done. The information is trivial, unencyclopedic, and unlikely to actually help most readers. Most people probably wouldn't know many of these packages even had names, much less care. (The newscast titles and station slogans are a slightly different situation, in that at least those actually make it on the air.) This is not to say news music isn't a part of a station's presentation — it certainly is, at least on those stations that actually do news. It's just that they shouldn't be listed. --WCQuidditch 00:31, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

KSWY

I noticed a missing step in the changes you made. It's something I see a lot, although I can't honestly remember if it's something I've seen you do before.

When I'm doing a series of edits that involve moving an article to a new call sign, and then turning the resulting redirect from the old call sign into a dab page, my last edit is always to tag the talk page of the old call sign with the {{DisambigProject}} template. Otherwise, you end up with a dab page whose talk page is still a redirect to the talk page of the moved article.

Please feel free to ignore this friendly heads-up if I just happened to notice your moves while you were in the middle of the process and had intended to tag the talk page all along... :>)

Happy editing! Mlaffs (talk) 19:55, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

TBN Translators

Is there is a list where you are getting the silent translators off of, by any chance? - NeutralHomerTalk21:14, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

Rabbitears.info has a list of updates to the FCC database in regards to television facilities — this includes when stations' status change from licensed to "licensed and silent" (or LICSL), as so many TBN translators have done of late. This is where I've found out the translators they've filed to close most recently (or, more accurately, the most recently accepted for filing by the FCC). --WCQuidditch 21:49, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

WPKX

Hi! I saw your comment [| here] about the deletion of the Springfield market. Actually I probably handled it incorrectly. I had deleted the table because prior to my edit, the local Springfield table wasn't displaying correctly. (I saw a bunch of coding charecters, instead of the table display again.) I figure it was a bad edit made by someone else, and had deleted it. I had removed them because they weren't displaying correctly at the time and I am unsure why. There probably was a fix to it, but darned if I could figure it out! (I went over the code a number of times.) Thats why I deleted it. I appreciate you fixing it a lot. I am following this one closely. I will let you know, via the WPKX talk page, when the move is approved and the station actually moves! Thank you again! Necrat (talk) 07:28, 2 June 2010 (UTC)NECRAT

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 01:09, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
