Spoken lang
I see you making changes to include spoken languages also in chennai article and removing ethinicity row. We have a separate demographics section which mainly highlights and brings all these there. So at first there arises no reason to include it. And in the list of infobox section we have to only select & list all primary things leaving behind others. On this note, spoken languages are unnecessary there and be reminded that each major city has many diff living sections of people giving a multicultural living style to the place. These all are facts and data to be included in respective section. No special reason to add or include others unnecessarily in infobox. And how bad to see you remove ethinicity row which is the fact of the matter there in the article. Inclusion of non-important facts are certainly unnecessary especially in the infobox area. I hope you understand it. Then lastly there arises a suituation where we also need to add more other lang's there which brings more complexity to the issue. If you consider my edit for wrong reasons I am not held responsible for that as you might be aware just like you I am also a editor in wiki strive for good work, truth, and correct informtion to be presented. ----Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 02:10, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Review of film article
Hi, I just noticed you were reviewing articles for films in Wikiproject India. I've been working on one article, Tere Ghar Ke Samne, and I think it at least should be more than a stub. I've added a longer plot summary, soundtrack section, sypnopsis and all. Also, I was just wondering, how do you promote an article to GA or FA status? Thanks! Fireblazex3 (talk) 13:16, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, good work in expanding the article! But currently it has zero sources. Sourcing is the prime policy of Wikipedia. So try adding (reliable) sources to it. Read WP:CITE for how to cite sources. We cannot directly promote articles to WP:GA / WP:FA status. The article has to undergo a review process before which it should satisfy a set of criteria listed at WP:GAC and WP:FAC. Good articles in general are reviewed by one editor (in most cases unless the reviewer asks for a second opinion) where as FAs are reviewed by many users and will be promoted only after a consensus is reached. —Vensatry (Ping me) 13:53, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
- Thank you! I just added some references. Is there any set number of references for it to be promoted to be B or C status? Fireblazex3 (talk) 08:45, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- Nothing like that. If you aspire for B class, the article must be pretty comprehensive and adequately sourced. There is no such criteria for the number of sources to be used. You can cite 'n' number of sources using a single book. —Vensatry (Ping me) 13:35, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

GAN of Taapsee
Hi. I will be reviewing Taapsee Pannu, which you nominated for GA per the GA criteria. The article is in good shape, but might require bits of copy-editing. The review can be found here. This is a first for me, so please let me know is there are any errors you find. In case of doubts, my talk page is at your service. Thanks. X.One SOS 12:34, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/List of international cricket five-wicket hauls by Kapil Dev.You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. - Do everything that needs doing in the task force, or getting it done alongwith others.
- Look after the interests of the task force community in general and the articles in specific.
- Represent the views of the task force wherever representation/participation is sought; to get & put forward the community's viewpoint.

- Join the mailing list for Wikipedians working on India related content on English Wikipedia (wikimedia-in-en [at] lists [dot] wikimedia [dot] org)
The Volunteer coordinator is a volunteer from the community and is answerable to the community. He enjoys the informal recognition and full support of the community. However, he is open to recall by the community, should the community so decide. User:Ashlin, who has been nominated by the community as coordinator for WP:India has requested me to suggest volunteer coordinators for various sub-projects. Let me/Ashlin know if you are interested. Discussion.
Hi Vensatry. I see a change in birth place of mani ratnam article. Many other reliable sources reveal "madurai". While on your research prior to major improvements on this article if you have found this, that's good. But most of other reliable sources are clearly referring to madurai. ----Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 02:41, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- Can you show me those reliable sources. —Vensatry (Ping me) 04:05, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- Here we go Vensatry.(1) (2). Importantly with the dates of release (2002 and 2005) of these sources it clearly shows that its not reduntant back citing the work or linking to wikipedia. Especially first one was produced even before the article was created in wikipedia. Also the second one was way back and so it has no reference to (source: wiki) at that time. I hope it will support us for the change. ----Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 05:46, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- "Behindwoods" isn't a reliable source. The "Filmmovement" source looks reliable but, it says Mani Ratnam was born on 2 June 1955, which is not true. He is 1956 born according to various sources. It would be nice if you can find some reliable third-party sources. —Vensatry (Ping me) 06:00, 11 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hi. Back to this with some sources here (1), (2), (3), (4), (5). One thing I must say considering 1956 (june) that time all are referred to as Madras Province. So this should have overshadowed and hence Madurai should have been left behind (As used in the current source at infobox). Also I can see source 4 and 5 shows year (1955), which again brings us to a different scene. But one thing for sure is from all these links here, he was born in Madurai, ie., Madras Province. Even if we assume, let's say 1955 (june) by those times the place is again called Madurai in Madras. So doubts on location is clear. Lastly coming to year, if you see big then, source 4 and 5 are actually the film festival events which to my knowledge is the most accurate and reliable ones considering those facts should have been produced in accordance with the persons involved at the film festival event with their knowledge (what I mean is participants(Ratnam) must have given his/her Bio to the organizers(Film festivals). So totally 3 film festival events conveys Year 1955. So I believe we can go with it trusting it fully along with the location of Madurai. How you see this. ----Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 04:53, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hey Vensatry. I take that you are on your work allowing some time to come back to this one. I hope you will come up with your ideas soon for the change being discussed here. ----Ungal Vettu Pillai (talk) 01:31, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
- Hey sorry! I missed your post. I am convinced with his birthplace but the year of birth needs a discussion as there are a number of sources saying 1956 as well. The article's talk might be the best place as there are more possibilities of other users evincing their thoughts. —Vensatry (Ping me) 08:11, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to your new responsibility - Volunteer Coordinator for WikiProject Film/Indian cinema task force!
We welcome you to post of volunteer coordinator for Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Indian cinema task force (also referred to as WikiProject Indian cinema). This volunteership is important because the WikiProject needs vision, guidance and direction and in the absence of anyone undertaking this responsibility in a holistic manner, the community felt that a volunteer coordinator was needed for the Indian cinema task force; in fact for each of the task forces/daughter projects/related projects to WikiProject India. We have asked for other volunteers to be co-coordinator alongwith you as you requested. Hopefully someone will respond soon.
Your appointment has been announced on the India Noticeboard and on the wikimedia-in-en mailing list. I strongly encourage you to join the wikimedia-in-en list, if not already done. Feel free to approach the community for any cooperation you need. All the best for your new labour of love. Have fun & do great work. AshLin (talk) 05:24, 11 March 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest
Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.
As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.
If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.
You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.

Core List for Wikiproject Film?
Hi, this is regarding the Core List for Wikiproject film. It is stated there that each task force gets ten slots for films to add to the list. Do we already have ten articles on the Core List there? I would like to add Guide (1965 film) to the list, because it is considered one of Hindi cinema's classic films. How do I nominate it, and (I'm just wondering), how come there are so many English films? Doesn't seem fair to me, since each task force has only ten slots... :/ Fireblazex3 (talk) 13:02, 17 March 2012 (UTC)

As you are an experienced editor on wiki and on India film project, I would appreciate if you can review the article and provide some comments as per your convenience, it would be helpful to improve the article. Thanks. - VivvtTalk 03:40, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- Nice work! You did not say the ultimate extent to which you are trying to bring the standard of the article. Consider submitting the article for a peer-review. —Vensatry (Ping me) 12:08, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks. Well, with ceremony to be held on 3rd May, I thought it would be good if we can push the article to FL/"In the news" in the near future (similar to 82nd Academy Awards). But then I have not worked on any FL/GA earlier so mostly unknown on that area. So would need some inputs in that scope. Thanks. - VivvtTalk 12:45, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
Kalyana Parisu (Wedding Gift) is the article of a Gemini Ganesan film, created by me. I think I have given the article maximum clarity and info, all in a single edit. Do I get an award for it? Kailash29792 (talk) 11:19, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

cinefundas
Does cinefundas.com permits the pic usage with creative commons? I saw you uploaded File:Karthi77.jpg thru the same site. Thanks. - VivvtTalk 17:51, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- There is a OTRS confirmation for this site. But now it's recommended not to upload any more images from that site since many of the images were not owned by them. See this discussion. —Vensatry (Ping me) 03:29, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- Ok. I know only bollywoodhungama n filmitadka which can be used to upload images on wikicommons with proper permission. I was planning to upload some images for personalities from south. Do you know any other site which we can use for south personalities? Thanks. - VivvtTalk 04:19, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- Sadly no such site exists for people from the south. "Bollywoodhungama" and "Filmitadka" both have a good amount of pictures of some famous personalities from the south. —Vensatry (Ping me) 04:32, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Ping
Hey, please have a look at the mess on Cinema of Andhra Pradesh and User talk:MikeLynch. I have no clue about the topic, so let me know if Panickroom's edits are okay to have. If the edits are fine, then I'll revert it to Panickroom's version. Thanks, Lynch7 19:44, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- It's User:Padmalakshmisx for sure. He has a history of creating multiple accounts and using them only to abuse others and POV pushing in Telugu cinema- related articles. As for the new edits made by him, I'll have a quick glance over it and revert back. —Vensatry (Ping me) 03:32, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Reliability
I came across Pandolin quite some time back. I'm seriously unsure about its reliability; while its main page looks well-organised, its articles look a bit weird. Their About section says that its their aim to be trustworthy and reliable (which is great, as it matches Wikipedia's WP:RS requirements). But I keep getting a feeling that it looks like a blog.
Specifically, I came across this, this and this in their website. They are interviews of the cinematographers of Ra.One, Don 2 and Paan Singh Tomar respectively. In fact, the website has a number of other "Making of" interviews as well. I would like to know whether these are usable as reliable references. Thanks, ~*~AnkitBhatt~*~ 11:56, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
- I would say no. The site looks more of like a blog and even I'm unsure about its reliability. If we go by google search, the site has only 19,600 hits. In the meanwhile, you may start a new thread at WP:RSN regarding reliability of the same. —Vensatry (Ping me) 16:37, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, that was what I thought too. I was just wondering, since the links showed interviews, they could be considered reliable. Thanks, I'll take it up at RSN :) ~*~AnkitBhatt~*~ 16:39, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
Indian cinema task force
Hey, do you have any plans of changing the look of WP:INCINE? I believe the page has been like this for quite a long time, and I seem to be getting bored of it. Secret of success 16:25, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

- The lead could be re-written or expanded. Well, for the design, perhaps we could do with a border. I'm not sure if we are allowed to have div and span tags on these pages, but if we are, we could use some of it. I also had a look at WP:TASKFORCE without any luck. Do let me know if you get any further ideas on the look. Secret of success 05:20, 19 April 2012 (UTC)

Ya the lead can be rewritten completely. SOS, if you have some specific design in your mind, can you develop that in your sandbox and show us?
- Animesh, there should be no restrictions I guess. This is just like a user page except for the thing that number of users are involved. How does this look like? —Vensatry (Ping me) 16:54, 20 April 2012 (UTC)
- Perhaps we could use those images, but refrain from copying the whole thing. Look at this image, bright red and very "filmi" like. My basic idea was to create a border for the page, using div or span tags and use the Indian cinema image for the infobox. However, as major parts need to be re-done IMO, I thought I could get more ideas on this. Perhaps we do have some. Secret of success 15:16, 21 April 2012 (UTC)
