Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Veganpurplefox. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 04:44, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There has been some mistakes here I am not promoting anyone I'm just adding content of his roles with link as proof. Veganpurplefox (talk) 04:47, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have been watching every interviews and read every interviews that Edward Hayter has been on and have watched all of his filmography. I do not know him personally so I do not edit the article for that. I just have found every informations on the Internet especially interviews either on YouTube or read interviews that isn't a video. January 2023

[edit]

Information icon Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 04:52, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't added any promotional material, you have mistaken it as I am just adding new content to Jamie wiki page for his role in Christopher Marlowe Veganpurplefox (talk) 04:58, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please add it back as there is links of his role in the will series. He had talked about playing in that series many times as I posted the links for proof of the content I added Veganpurplefox (talk) 04:59, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a venue for you to promote this person or their career. MrOllie (talk) 14:38, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I did not promoted anyone I literally just said that,it's not promoting when the information are true: In July 2017, he was on the TNT original series Will (TV series). He played the role of the poet Christopher Marlowe [1] , alongside Edward Hayter who played Thomas Walsingham (literary patron) [2] and Laurie Davidson who played William Shakespeare Veganpurplefox (talk) 15:09, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It just gives more credits as proof he was in the series Veganpurplefox (talk) 15:11, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

And the series is not American its British Veganpurplefox (talk) 15:12, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia does not list nonnotable people in the way you have been. Get the standalone article approved first - spamming this person's name everywhere you can after your draft has been rejected is inappropriate. MrOllie (talk) 15:13, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What is nnonnotable, standalone and spamming means? And what draft? Veganpurplefox (talk) 15:24, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you have questions about how Wikipedia works, you may ask at WP:TEAHOUSE. I would warn you not to disingenuously claim you don't know which draft - everyone can see your editing history. MrOllie (talk) 15:30, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If its Edward Hayter then it's not my draft. It was rejected in May 2022 and I only found it a few weeks ago and have been since editing it. Cause I honestly didn't created any draft Veganpurplefox (talk) 15:41, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can I genuinely ask why it is considered as promotion? On Jamie Campbell Bower articles there are many other people mentioned in his wikipage, such as Lily Collins, Bonnie Wright... Veganpurplefox (talk) 00:26, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Until an article about Hayter is approved he is nonnotable, and there should be no hyperlink about him in the Bower article or any other article such as [3]. Furthermore IMBd is not accepted as a reliable source reference. David notMD (talk) 21:17, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I see but why then Lukas Rolfe appears in the cast of will series if he doesn't have a wiki page yet? He should be non notable too? Veganpurplefox (talk) 21:30, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I actually added the TV guide link and it it shown this source is reliable, so I'm not sure to understand why Veganpurplefox (talk) 21:32, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@DavidnotMD I can understand why lily Collins is mentioned as she has Wikipedia page but for lukas rolfe, I'd like to understand why he is notable but doesn't have a wiki page. Veganpurplefox (talk) 23:40, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

David notMD Veganpurplefox (talk) 23:41, 14 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cast lists can include non-notable people, i.e., without a preexisting article. However, don't create a red Wikilink or add a hyperlink. David notMD (talk) 09:26, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

His role in the Will series is both on rotten tomatoes and TV guide but it gets removed when I try to add him in the cast and says its promotion of non notable person Veganpurplefox (talk) 23:37, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Editing as IP

[edit]

Remember to sign in before editing, as it appears that sometimes you forget, and your edits show as work of a non-account IP. Wikipedia considers this sockpuppetry, which is forbidden. David notMD (talk) 09:24, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The sockpuppetry account is not me, I saw noticed there are others who edit the draft as well Veganpurplefox (talk) 12:49, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Accounts such as Davemck ,sockpoppetry and achmad rachmani ... are not me. I cannot see the other accounts as it doesnt show older editors as I can't scroll down more to see which other accounts also edited Veganpurplefox (talk) 13:20, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

View history default shows the most recent 50 edits, but at the bottom, one can switch to older 50, older 50 again, and so on. I was not making an acusation of sockpuppetery, only that I was guessing that at times you edited without being logged in and the edits were attributed to an IP address. David notMD (talk) 16:57, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, is this why sometimes it says "log in before editing "? I don't log out of it but maybe some times there was an issue with it and just thought I was logged and that it was a mistake Veganpurplefox (talk) 17:07, 15 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The system usually logs you out after a while (my guess is about 48 hours, but I could be wrong), probably for account security reasons. This can be a pain sometimes. Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 18:45, 16 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Burning Men moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Burning Men. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it has no sources and lacks content apart form an infobox; isn't fit for mainspace. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Edward-Woodrow :) [talk] 00:21, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Congratulations, and thank you for helping expand the scope of Wikipedia! We hope you will continue making quality contributions.

The article has been assessed as Stub-Class, which is recorded on its talk page. It is commonplace for new articles to start out as stubs and then attain higher grades as they develop over time. You may like to take a look at the grading scheme to see how you can improve the article.

Remain calm

[edit]

Take the advice from the Teahouse, please. Stop responding at AN/I unless addressed and move forward. Allow the process to work. If MrOllie believes you are a sock, really believes it, then a SPI will be filed and if accepted a CU will investigate. I do think you should strike your statement regardless of your intent. It would be a sign of goodwill. It has affected fellow editors negatively and unnecessarily. You made your point without it. That's just my personal take on it. --ARoseWolf 15:34, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I wont comment again on ANI if that what it means with strike. English is still not my original language so its hard to find the wright words to explain my true thoughts. But i feel like you were the one who truely understand me so i cant thank you enough for that. Can you give me the link of SPI so i can file it myself to prove my innoncence? Veganpurplefox (talk) 15:50, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I will leave english Wikipedia and not write there anymore cause i feel i dont belong here and no one believe me Veganpurplefox (talk) 15:53, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Why get stuck on proving your innocence? One accusation was made and very little if any evidence was provided. If there was an admin that believed enough was presented you might be blocked already so why let that drive you away? Ignore it and move forward editing. No one has said you don't belong here. As with all things when we are new to something it takes time to learn the functions. Creating articles is one of the hardest tasks an editor here can do, especially with success. But it is not the only task that editors do. New editors are encouraged to learn by way of making small edits to existing articles. I encourage you to not let this one instance deter you from editing. Take any criticism and grow from it. You'll be a better editor for it. --ARoseWolf 16:12, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Veganpurplefox: I think what @ARoseWolf meant with "strike your statement" is to add <s></s> around the offending text to that it looks like this: striked text. It's a way of showing that you take the statement back. – 2804:F14:80BD:BF01:F872:BFF4:AA12:94DA (talk) 22:48, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I was told not to come back so do it for me. I see now my comment was mistaken. I dont speak English well enough to put my true thoughts into words. I meant that when people like me who are autistic tell the truth we are never believed but when neurotypicals lies they are always believed even if they didnt tell the truth. Its something i face everyday. I wrote too fast to even see it vould have been misinterpreated . But still with all that happened i still feel i dont belong here so that's my last edit Veganpurplefox (talk) 01:45, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
