Good Evening Sir!
Sure Sir, Sir, I am using this computer from- a Cyber Cafe, where many people have used this before too. Some of my relatives did use it too. And Smita and Vinayak, are indeed my relatives, my cousin and brother respectively. Is there anything wrong in me editing the Wikipedia Pages Sir? Whatever I have edited on Wikipedia as yet, i have added valid news citations etc Sir. Please let me know, if there's anything wrong. I am well, aware of them getting blocked, the reasons also I am aware about Sir. Personal/Family promotion. I am ashamed for their unethical behaviors that violated- Wikipedia's policies. You and other Wikipedia users can be rest assured, such activities wont take place again in future. You would also not find me- User:VSOian adding/promoting any personal/family members/pages/events/incidents Sir.
Thank You,
Virat Singh Oberoi. VSOian (talk) 16:36, 6 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Geniac. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Rupanjana Mitra, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Presidency University, Kolkata, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Presidency University. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Incorrect and Addition of Information

[edit]

@Bonadea Good Afternoon Ma'am,

I had a doubt. In this article as father, it is given- 'J.N. Sircar' but it is incorrect I suppose. Nripendra Sircar's father was- Nagendranath Sircar, according to these two sources- Source 1 and Source 2 Please look into the matter and do the needful ma'am. Additionally, I found more information about Nripendra Sircar on the above two sources. May I add them citing the links given above?

Thank You, VSOian (talk) 11:28, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello VSOian, thank you for your question. First a comment on Who's Who as a source. Wikipedia considers that to be generally unreliable (see this list of sources) because the entries are written by the subjects themselves – on the other hand, this particular claim might be considered OK to source from there because after all, it seems unlikely that he would give the wrong name for his father! I don't have access to Who's Who, but of course I trust you are right about what it says. The other source you provide, Sir N.N. Sircar's Speeches and Pamphlets, seems fine to me, so I think you can change the info about Sircar's father based on that, and then you don't need to refer to Who's Who at all. If you use the book about Sircar's speeches and pamphlet as a source to add more info to the article, do be careful to keep to a neutral tone, though, since the book is written in a rather laudarory manner! --bonadea contributions talk 12:50, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you so much ma'am. I have changed the information.
