Peer review
[edit]Hi there. I just wanna ask if you can weigh in at Ada Wong's peer review if its okay with you and you have free time. Many thanks = ) 🍕Boneless Pizza!🍕 (🔔) 00:18, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi again. Just gonna say that there's definitely no info about her inclusion in Re4; but in Re6 there is a possible small info (I already requested the book). Many thanks 🍕Boneless Pizza!🍕 (🔔) 13:04, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Boneless Pizza!: I really appreciate all your hard work on both this article and many others. You've made huge improvements in just a short timeframe and should be proud of that. It is unfortunate that info on Ada's inclusion in RE4 isn't more prominent. I understand this might be a tall order, but you could always try asking for help on something like the Resident Evil subreddit if you ever feel like it. PanagiotisZois (talk) 10:14, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- RE4 artbook doesn't exist, unlike Re6. (I really doubt the subreddit has also, but I attempted to contact a certain person at the same website if she has.) So, I really doubt such a info would exist unlike Leon (The Making of Re4 by IGN from YouTube). I wouldn't worry about it too much since if we can't find a source/info about her in Re4, especially when there is no book then it would be fine at FAC. Anyway, I was trying to aim for Chris for FAC originally, but I feel like I should get more experience with the shorter article (a bit), which is Ada. Thanks for your compliment and concerns. = ). 🍕Boneless Pizza!🍕 (🔔) 10:24, 17 July 2024 (UTC)
- Update: Despite she only has "BIO4 kaitai, the Incubate and Archives 2", its just walkthrough and novelizations sadly. Even Jill Valentine doesn't have info on why she was chose to be protagonist at Re3. 🍕Boneless Pizza!🍕 (🔔) 10:51, 17 July 2024 (UTC)

Question
[edit]Hi. You're probably a good writer, and I was impressed with how the reception turned out after you rewrote it in Ada Wong's article. I was wondering why you didn't have any plan to send Chris Redfield in the future at least once ;P. Anyway, I'm planning to improve that article further after Ada (I should definitely not speak too soon, but here we go). I would like to collaborate with you and StarScream1007 soon. I know this is x2 harder than Ada because of his RE history, but the comments about his sexuality and boulder-punching memes are interesting. 🍕Boneless Pizza!🍕 (🔔) 10:47, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for your kind comments @Boneless Pizza!:. I'm glad you liked my work with Ada's "Reception" section. Honestly, I think that since working on the Suicide of Rachel Foster video game, I've gotten really good with such sections. I do think I probably make them a bit bigger than they have to be, but it's always easier to condense things that have something small and try to enlarge it. Now, as to why I haven't worked on Chris' article.
- Honestly, with the exception of the Boogeyman 2 article, all of my other attempts at a FAC have crashed and burned, which kind of put me off from that. It is a very rigorous process that I'm not all that interested in doing. I've been more successful with Featured Lists. While I do find Chris an interesting (and attractive) character, it's not something I'm all that interested in getting to FA in the future. By this point in my life, I don't have all that much time or energy to work extensively on Wikipedia. Especially the time and energy needed for a FAC. Also, for years now, I have made it a point that if I am going to invest time and energy to a Wikipedia page, it's either going to be something LGBT-related (like the Morph article I worked on and would like to make a good article) or something that, while not queer-related, is still soemthing I'm very interested in (like the Charmed episode; also up for GAN). So that's basically why I haven't tried taking Chris' page to FA-status thus far.
- I have to say, I think it's pretty sweet that you would want to collaborate with me on Chris' article. I don't think anyone has ever asked before to collaborate on anything. :) But as I've said, Chris' page is something that doesn't interest me all that much. Unless sources (especially academic ones) become available on things like the Chris/Piers ship (Nivanfield), how Chris is a pretty popular subject among gay fans/bara artwork, or any homoerotic analyses of the character, I don't see how there's much for me to be interested in his article or wish to invest time and energy in improving it. PanagiotisZois (talk) 12:26, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for that detailed response. I will agree that FA process is sometimes ridiculous, but the way you rewrote the reception section helps a lot. I don't mean with the word "collaborate" that you will do a lot of work, but only edit/condense the reception section (which is the hardest for us to write) in the future of I'm done implementing everything, just like how my conom at Ada's article does. Again, thanks for reading and goodluck with your GA nominations. Also, can you conclude your review at my FAC? thanks :D. 🍕Boneless Pizza!🍕 (🔔) 12:48, 8 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Boneless Pizza!: Hmm... maybe I could do that. You add in all of the additional information you find, and I'll see about the thematic connections and how to work around with everything.
- As for Ada, a few things I'd like to say here are these:
- In the article, it's stated that Ada showed up in Retribution and died off-screen in the sixth one. I do think it's worth mentioning that Anderson had initially stated that Ada would return for the sequel, as indicated on the film's page and also here.
- Regarding this, I was curious if any more information on Ada's initial role for The Final Chapter is available? If not, just including the above is enough.
- In the lede, no mention is made of her showing up in Resident Evil 4 and the creation of the "Separate Ways" minigame to give her a bigger role. Or her inclusion in RE6, or that she was initially meant to help Ethan in Village. Given her numerous appearances across various media (games, films, etc.), you obviously can't include everything, but at least her appearances in the mainlinge games should be discussed.
- Also, if you do the above and include some information about her involvement in said games, the sentence about her betraying employers to help Leon probably becomes redundant.

- @PanagiotisZois Thanks. I already expanded the dev info of her in the lead (but my conom thought it is out place [2]) and I couldn't find a rs that mention Ada should appear in the sequel of the film, but I expanded the text [3]. Hoping it would be alright for you. 🍕Boneless Pizza!🍕 (🔔) 14:32, 8 September 2024 (UTC)

Rachel Foster article
[edit]Hiya, I've decided to try my hand at helping you with the article. One thing I noticed when reading was the developers said they talked with people to try and portray sensitive topics well, but then reviews say they were not portrayed well. Is there any further comment on why the developers think their efforts didn't work? Does this make sense? We can do this :) Moritoriko (talk) 06:50, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @Moritoriko:. Thank you for copyediting the article. In one of the interview the developers gave, the interviewer actually asks this questions. Specifically, the interviewer says: "There has been some outrage on Twitter from French players about the way this relationship [between Rachel and Leonard] is depicted, as well as an article on GameCrate. What do you think about this? Do you understand how it can shock people? Such a relationship is forbidden in France: the position of the professor makes it even worse".
- To this question, One-O-One responds: "We are glad that players are sharing their opinions openly. The Suicide of Rachel Foster is a work of fiction, developed to encourage players to think critically about this type of behaviour, while simultaneously analyzing the various tragic events and array of painful emotions that such a tragedy could create. We tried our best to depict these themes from a variety of perspectives, thus allowing our players to feel strong emotions and analyze the reality of the situation for themselves".
- Clearly, the developers were aware that many people reacted negatively to the depiction of Rachel and Leonard's relationship, but this seemed to be something they were expecting. I guess that's the closest we get to an answer regarding your initial question. We have to remember that just because writers may approach certain groups in order to write a sensitive topic well, doesn't mean that their portrayal of said sensitive topic will necessarily be well-received.--PanagiotisZois (talk) 12:49, 3 December 2024 (UTC)
- Alrighty, after reading through the cited interviews I removed that sentence from the lede and left it in the development section. I am curious about the professor comment, was Leonard a teacher at their school while running the hotel? I feel like that should be mentioned if so.
- I also added more comments for other places I was unsure about in the plot.
- One writing tic you use often is:
- "Verbing clause.... Person does this" instead of "Person verbs and does this". I don't think there are any particular rules on not using it, but many many sentences were like that so I changed a bunch to put the character/person first. I rearranged some other stuff, let me know if any of it changed the meaning unintentionally.
- Moritoriko (talk) 00:21, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
- I believe Leonard as a university professor, not a high school teacher. Also, I'd have to rewatch a walkthrough to remember, but I think Leonard acted as Rachel's tutor. PanagiotisZois (talk) 11:05, 4 December 2024 (UTC)
