Reliable sources
[edit]Hello. Please see WP:RS, and note that we can't use Wikipedia to reference itself. Thanks, Wikishovel (talk) 18:01, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks... I've replaced those citations. Untold Millions (talk) 22:33, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
A bowl of strawberries for you!
[edit]Thanks for all your hard work on Jacqueline Susann, especially the improvements to the references. The article really has come a long way, thanks to you. Wikishovel (talk) 08:19, 13 January 2017 (UTC) |
Manhattan, New York City
[edit]Please stop deleting that she was born and died in Manhattan. She did not die in the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, or Staten Island. It is properly referenced, and you are edit warring. Stop reverting the formatting of references. They are properly formatted using the citation template. Free form citation text does not allow us to change the citation format if we decide to in the future. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 01:41, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
Thanks for writing, sorry to be so angry. I will show you a secret tool for New York City biographical research. Go to: http://www.italiangen.org/records-search/ Then there are databases for birth, marriages and deaths. I can't send you a link to their record, because there is no landing page, you get a dynamic search. Go to: http://www.italiangen.org/records-search/births.php There are also marriage and death databases. Type in her last name and hit search and you should see the two birth certificates indexed with adjacent numbers. Another great resource is https://familysearch.org/ It gives you access to billions of birth, marriage and death records. It is free, but you have to register. You can start a free tree for your own family while there. The best resource for men born between 1890 and 1900 is the WWI draft registration for filling in missing dates of birth and middle names. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 03:25, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
Another great resource is the Flickr Commons project with the Library of Congress. I am adding New York City people images to the biographies. https://www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/31479976783/in/album-72157603624867509/ You can see the last image I added: R._D._Blumenfeld
Did you try the search? I expect you will have no free time for the rest of your life once you start editing. You will be like a medieval monk making sure history is preserved. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 03:32, 18 January 2017 (UTC)
Did you apply for a free account at Newspapers.com through Wikipedia? --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 02:47, 20 January 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Disambiguation link notification for December 25
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mel Ferrer, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Serial (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 08:41, 25 December 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Yoshi24517. I noticed that you made a comment on the page Funny Girl (musical) with this edit that didn't seem very civil, so I removed it. Wikipedia needs people like you and me to collaborate, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Yoshi24517 Chat Online 01:40, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Hey man im josh. I noticed that in this edit to Mecha-Streisand, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Hey man im josh (talk) 12:31, 16 September 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Paul Anka, you may be blocked from editing. Illegitimate blanking is vandalism.[1] — Smuckola(talk) 19:06, 6 March 2023 (UTC)
- I'm sorry... I somehow neglected to respond to your message. So, fuck you. Untold Millions (talk) 21:38, 19 May 2023 (UTC)

June 2023
[edit]You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add defamatory content to Wikipedia, as you did at Melissa Benoist. ☾Loriendrew☽ ☏(ring-ring) 00:50, 1 June 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for advising me about adding defamatory content to Wikipedia. I know I've been bad, and were I a child, I'd suggest you paddle my bare bottom. (Isn't the subjunctive lovely? Would that it not be moribund in English.) I wish you were with me tonight. You could bathe me (très excitant!) and wrap me in my jammies and kindly advise me about all sorts of things. For you, after all, are a master intellect. For you, after all, with your wise and prophetic musings, are a modern-day Pythia (which--truth be told--makes me cry).
- Now, lest I tax your patience, I proceed to the business of the court: I don't know who Melissa Benoist is, and am therefore confused and troubled by your charges. I searched for her at once on Wikipedia, but my (admittedly cursory) glance at her (very tedious) page failed to assuage my anxious bewilderment. (Please don't think that I'm denying your accusation, Pythia: I simply don't remember thinking of the bitch, let alone defaming her.) (Oh, bother! I must be careful. Let me assure you that I do not mean "bitch" in any pejorative sense.) Since I don't doubt that I said something, I assume that you were justified in taking offense. And I'm certain that having your nose in the air is a good look for you.
- Eventually, of course, I shall be blocked from editing. Of this I am sure. But I don't want you to feel ever sorrow in your heart. Merci de ne pas! For I shall reveal to you a secret: I am a phoenix of Wikipedia. Once I rise triumphantly from the flames of my expulsion, I shall once again make my presence known by means of gentle observations and fabulous bons mots. (Oh, how this thought sustains me! Much like the spinster who misplaced a bratwurst in her underwear, I find myself almost giddy with pleasure!) (Gracious, I do overuse parenthetical asides, don't I? Um, er... not so fast! This does not mean that I am Joyce Carol Oates!! I'M NOT, I SWEAR IT!!!)
- Anyhoo, it is time I retire, with my book and my nasal spray. (I'm rereading Descartes, Les passions de l'âme, and loving it!) As I say goodnight, may I ask a favor? Décontracte! It is not a big favor. It is simply this: go at once to your kitchen and open a drawer. Find something very sharp. Take it in hand and shove it so far up your ass that you cut your fucking tongue off. Bon appétit! I love you. Untold Millions (talk) 03:34, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
