Kirsten Dunst FAC?

I've not had a chance to look at the article recently, but if you adopted the good suggestions made at PR, and are happy with it, why not take it to FAC? You know what makes a featured article, so use your judgement. As a precaution, read through the FA criteria again to be certain the article complies. I'll try and catch up with it at FAC. Don't worry, people ignore me all the time, it is in their nature. It doesn't seem that long to me. I'll leave some comments for you when you do. Yeah, hopefully Sacrifice will be my second FA. It isn't that important, but is any article taken to FAC really that important. The only notable events in TNA have been the big three and Victory Road 04. Still interested in an admin coach?

Hello, saw your name at WP:ADCO/RFC and was wondering whether you were still interested in an admin coach. I coached Gary King in the past (whom I believe you know) and well, you can see the rather incredible results ;-) However, given that he's been annoyingly stubborn to being nominated again (even when six people practically beg him to run), I have a slot open and I'm interested in coaching again (as there isn't really anything left to coach Gary on, as his eye-popping amount of content contributions testifies to). Okay, sounds good. More or less, my coaching is mostly hands-off (I'm not going to constantly review your contributions, ask you trivia questions on what an admin is, and so on and such forth) and boils down to setting generalized guidelines on what you should be doing and what direction you should be going in, as well as serving as a person you can go for on questions and advice on well, just about anything wiki-related. It's late and I'm sleepy, but I'll leave a couple notes here before I log off. Three general areas that you should keep in mind that people look at during an RfA are as follows:
Civility – it's cliche, but it's true. Above everything else, if you're polite, then you're fine. It's possible to be politely angry at someone, so there's no need for this ever to be a problem. That said, from a review of your contributions, this isn't a problem at all, so no worries.
Article contributions – well, this is a done deal, as you have a plethora of solid content contributions (solid work on Maggie Gyllenhaal too). My area of focus is featured lists (hence why Gary went in that direction), so feel free to contact me if you ever decide to bring a list up to par. You're a pretty prolific WP:GAN reviewer also, so that only helps. Only thing I can really say is to keep it up.
Administrator areas – the meat and bones of being an administrator. You can get away with limited content contributions in some cases, but getting away with a lack of experience in administrator areas is rare (usually restricted to incredibly civil individuals, longtime content contributors, or similar). As far as I can see, you focused on CSD a bit in the past, and a bit of vandalism reverting that's really the limit of the admin-related activities you've gone into. My advice is to simply pick the areas you want to work in as an administrator (as really, you're seeking the tools to use them, no?) and focus on them. I'm not going to force you to involve yourself in areas you're unfamiliar with or unwilling to contribute to, as that's simply unproductive and if you do so and pass your RfA, it's likely you're simply drop those activities. For the purposes of CSDs and vandalism patrol, Newpage patrol and Huggling are fine as far as both are concerned. For vandalism, you can go a bit farther by clerking a bit at WP:AIV by placing {{AIV}} templates under reported users (for instance, if they haven't received their final warning, haven't been active, and so on and such forth). Really, it's up to you. I have pretty good experience in most admin-related areas, so where you go is fine by me. Do note that you should be careful in CSD if you decide to do Newpage patrol. It's better to play it safe if you think something doesn't exactly meet the criteria (say a borderline A7 for instance) and instead leave a prod or simply let it go. People are remarkably thorough at RfAs and it pays not to have skeletons in the closet.

New MG image

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I found a new image of Maggie Gyllenhaal from Flickr and was able to get permission from the author to use the image on Wikipedia. I have added it to the infobox, so please take a look and determine if you want to keep it there. The image was taken in 2004, so although its a few years old, she's actually looking into the camera which I think makes for a better infobox image. Anyway, let me know what you think. No worries, it's better to have a more up-to-date image of the actress. Looking at Liv Tyler's image, it definitely could be better. After sorting through almost a thousand images of her (I really wish people would only upload images that they've taken on Flickr, not ones they found on other websites), I found a few possible images. Don't blame you. I expanded a few last summer, and realised very quickly that a) I wasn't much good at it, and b) I really hated it, so I stopped very quickly. :P I stick to bios nowadays, I think most of them are in worse condition than the ppvs, and I enjoy it a hell of a lot more. :) I notice you've exapnded out into actor bios, though (congrats on the Maggie Gyllenhaal FA btw) - it's a real loss to WP:PW. ♥NiciVampireHeart22:35, 16 February 2009 (UTC)

That's quite impressive! Ok, thoughts. 1) first paragraph - 'He also appears on the Raw and SmackDown brands as well' - the "also" and the "as well" are redundant. Only one of them is needed. 2) Second paragraph - 'a televised competition that would award the winner a WWE contract. He was one of the winners in the competition and was awarded a WWE developmental contract' - seems redundant as well. Perhaps remove "and was awarded a WWE developmental contract". 3) second paragraph - 'Tag Team Championship in one occasion' - typo - should be 'Tag Team Championship on one occasion'. 4) third paragraph - 'in their debut' - on their debut sounds better imo. About RAW, Shawn Michaels beat JBL this Monday and Vladimir Koslov attacked as he said on Smackdown so he will be facing Vladimir next week on RAW. Now this should be edited and unless you forgot this will not highlight his career but if he does go to WrestleMania 25 to face The Undertaker someone will have to put his match with JBL and Vladimir in his article so be sure to edit his page.

The NME site has several song reviews up , so make sure you use them all. I saw that some song articles used them, but some don't. Rely on this as yoru primarily form of critical reception. Reverts to edits on Coldplay songs

I would caution against naming section "Music and lyrics". Here it says, "Because the entire article is about the song, it is recommended that there be no section headers with titles such as "Song information" or "About the song"." Although you are not specifically using the word "song", I would say the spirit of this guideline cautions against naming a section about the song's composition with general music terms, like "song, music, or lyrics." "Composition" seems like a better general term to use, because it is not only more concise but also a better catch-all for descriptions of the song's key, chord changes, time signature, instruments used, lyrics, interpretatons, etc etc.

Furthermore, I think you may want to reconsider having the sample template in use of the body of the article. First off, it is needlessly bulky and can cause some clearing issues (as are possible with images or blockquotes). Additionally, from scanning through a lot of the song articles, it seems like the descriptions use a lot of NPOV terms that aren't sourced. In IE6, the text gets cut off, too. Rather than try and correct them all, it seems better to just use the smaller, more visually appealing audiosample template that is designed to stay in the infobox, without any clearing issues or any text clipping. Yeah, I'm feeling a bit better. I decided to have a jam session with my iPod. :) I don't know why they came, though, just for the past week and a half I've felt crummier than normal. But oh well, I'm getting better! I feel like I'm on a psychiatrist's couch right now, LOL! And yeah, I understand how annoying it is! It's like "Dude, come on, it's so close to passing!" and they just don't bother. It sucks, because there are people waiting for someone to review their article for like a month and a half, and are ready and willing to bend over backwards so that their article can pass (Myself included,) but get shafted. Agreed, that's not something good to have in common. I also don't like when GA reviewers don't take note that the content of the article may not be well known enough to have enough references and sources. For example, if it's a song that wasn't released as a charting single, unless it's something like Free Bird, it's probably not going to have a ton or wealth of information. One of the article I nominated that a user reviewed didn't take this into account, and while some of their concerns were indeed very fair and correct things to be concerned about, they were nothing more than something that could be fixed in a day or two (For example, there were no reviews. It literally took me about ten minutes to find five reviews. If I spend more time I could find more,) The other things were stuff like "Oh, you could have extended this." "Could have?" Dude, if I "could have" extended it, I would have! It's a notable song that wasn't released as a single ("Captain Jack (song)") what else do you want? The sandwich he was eating?! But alas, I am rambling too much. Anyway, it seems that the user who nominated the Snuffy's Parents Get a Divorce article seems to have dissappeared for the last few days... Nothing thrilled me more when it came to re-doing the NJR article than when I would search a newspaper archive, and I would find something VERY important to the article. I know people that bet and stuff, and to me that's a great way to lose money, and nothing else! I just do it for fun, I like to see how good I do! And LOL, I did the same with my NJR PR. I waited like a week, because some things that were pointed out were so menial that they were painfully tedious, and boring stuff. And, I know, it IS tiring... and I haven't even started it! Shawn Michaels reverts

If you think I have put in too much detail, by all means edit it to reduce the detail. However, I'd really be interested to see how you think a World Championship ladder match isn't noteable? Or the last match of the feud that provided the transition for his feud from Jericho to JBL? As it currently reads, his feud with Jericho never ended and while it is arguable, I think it's important to note that prior to Michaels being JBL's employee, they were feuding.

Also, Michaels refers to himself as WWE Champion because he is obliged to by law. We are not. If his Championships & Accomplishments section bill him as winning the WWF Championship (3 times), why would his intro not follow suit? Tony2Times (talk) 19:29, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

How is an extra sentence explaining that Jericho was a replacement for Punk too much detail? I know it's Michaels' page and not Jericho's but the way it's written at the minute makes it seem as if Jericho was originally billed to do double duty. Also what is your problem with Jericho and Michaels' final match. It was the end to their feud and it kick started another one. It currently reads as if things finished at the ladder match and then arbitrarily another storyline was picked up at the end of December when in fact it had started in early November, not to mention their Survivor Series match. I'd have been calmer if you'd have just edited it in the first place rather than delete it so I had to do it again before the ladder match was even deemed notable. I admit that the Cyber Sunday stuff is too detailed but it's not POV to think that just because a match didn't happen at a PPV, it doesn't warrant mentioning. It was the final time the two faced each other during that feud, it ended one feud and begun another when JBL interfered. The ending of one six month feud, the beginning of another four month feud, all in one match. Not notable? I may have gone overboard with detail, though I don't think its POV that they each had a hand on the strap maybe POV over whether that's notable or not, my reasoning was that it was a rare (or unique as far as I can remember) way of ending that matchtype and that it played on elements of his previous eye injury making it seem more like a narrative. Right now, I just made an agreement with Nici to get a certain amount of articles done by September which I'm looking forward to failing. Oh, sorry I went looking for pics on there. Never went on there to look before. Always used what was on here. Most of those are of him doing his entrance (what I gave). They are still photos and could help for future PPvs since Styles has appeared on every TNA monthly PPV. I didn't know you replied till after I found all those and had them added. This image will help. For AJ's In Wrestling section. The way I heard it, Johnny Ace is stating Cage will not find success in WWE, that Vince cares more about his doormat. Plus Vince is quickly to change Cage's storylines. MVP is probably picked to win it or Benjamin. MVP wins the US title this Friday. Plus Cage got pinned last night and has yet to pin anyone other than Swagger once. He is stuck in mid-card again. I believe the only reason WWE got Cage back was for Edge and Christian and to make sure TNA lost another main eventer. The thing with Angle was, TNA got its first major still active main eventer from WWE. Angle still has alot left in him and was an amazing gain. TNA were smart to build entire company around him. As for WWE, they will probably soon have one world title, one world tag, one woman's, and maybe one middle title. Meaning titles will be rare. Cage will not be on top of WWE while Trips wants to be the man. I've lost hope for Cage. He should have been pushed hard from the start. Before you are quick to revert changes, you might want to review them first. My edit to this article, which you reverted, fixed not only the "centre/center" issue (as per WP:ENGVAR and the internal consistency section immediately following), but also corrected "fued", which is not a correct spelling in any version of English. (Outdent) So far I've taken a quick look at the Brad Pitt article. You've done a great job! However, I see that the dates in the citations are not properly formatted. For example, if it says "Retrieved on 4-12-09", it should instead read "Retrieved on 12 April 2009." Same goes for the dates of the articles themselves. Instead of saying "(3-10-09)", it should say (10 March 2009). Check out how it's done at the No Jacket Required article to see what I mean. Suggest changing it to just "Birch was trained by fellow wrestler Jimmy Cicero". 2) "Birch competed in various independent circuits" should probably be "Birch competed in various independent promotions". 3) "In 2004, Birch was signed with the WWE" should be "In 2004, Birch signed with the WWE". "Fixing" dates

That is not really fixing. I was going by the format they specifically say to use at Template:Cite web, which is YYYY-MM-DD. The idea is to have references be standard in formatting, so all dates should be in the YYYY-MM-DD format (which is what I changed it to until you went and changed them back). Whoever told you that was probably unaware of the Cite web template guidelines because it plain and clearly says to use the YYYY-MM-DD format. Nintendo task force membership

If you are not already aware, the Super Smash Bros. task force (formerly WikiForce Super Smash Bros.) has very recently been merged into the Nintendo task force (formerly WikiProject Nintendo). As a result, the memberlist of the old task force has been merged into the Nintendo task force's memberlist. In order to gauge who is still active and willing to participate actively in the Nintendo task force, I have placed all those members under the inactive participants list, which is located below the active participants list at WP:NIN.

". The [sic] indicates that the quote is accurate and that you haven't made a mistake. If you don't include [sic], most readers will assume that the mistake is yours. Brad Pitt's high-profile romances in the lead (intro)

I am in agreement with you about the "several" part not being added (that is, if you feel that way). As I stated on Excuseme99's talk page: "I do not get why it is unnecessary to mention Gwenyth Paltrow in the lead as one of his high-profile romances. She has been there in the lead for the longest because she is a good example of one of his high-profile romances. He has not had several high-profile romances. He has only had three. The others before that, were not really high-profile. He was not even as famous then. Mentioning Paltrow as one of his high-profile romances makes perfect sense. However, stating that he has had several high-profile romances, as if every romance he has had since his acting career began has been highly-publicized...is not true.

In any case, another editor restored the article back to before the "several" was put in. I will talk this over with that editor to see what objection he has to my change in which I combated the 'several' addition."

This brings me to you, ThinkBlue. What objections do you have of my tweak to that? I mean, now that I think about it, that editor who originally added the "several" part has a point in not singling out Paltrow as Pitt's high-profile romance. Jennifer Aniston was also one. And the way the lead is now (as you have restored it back to)...it mentions Paltrow first as his high-profile romance, mentions Angelina Jolie last as his romance that has attracted world-wide attention, but Aniston is left in the middle with no being attribution to having been one of his high-profile romances. I actually downloaded the audio of that interview a few months back. It was very good! You should download the Mr. Kennedy ones, they're really good, and fairly controversial! I know, I really don't like the fact Randy won in a six-man tag, it makes him look weak. Brad Pitt article for featured article status

I do not see that much keeping this article from being a featured article. I have copyedited what I felt needed copyediting in the article, but most of the wording was/is fine (as in it did not need copyediting).

There is one part of the text I feel still needs a change. That part is:

In 1988, Pitt appeared in an episode of the police drama 21 Jump Street,[12] followed by appearances on the situation comedies Head of the Class and Growing Pains the next year.[12]
That same year, he made his feature film debut in the drama The Dark Side of the Sun (1988).

With that part, what I am looking at as a problem is where it notes the shows he appeared in the year after 1988 (even if it is only one of those shows) and where it goes back to saying "that same year." That needs to be a little rearranged, in my view. Also, once you state "that same year," the 1988 parentheses note of that year is not needed.

The only other issue with the article may be the linking done to that Brangelina article, which was recently done, as noted on the talk page. Flyer22 (talk) 01:42, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

GA Sweeps invitation

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am sending you this message since you are a member of the GA WikiProject. I would like to invite you to consider helping with the GA sweeps process. Sweeps helps to ensure that the oldest GAs still meet the criteria, and improve the quality of GAs overall. Unfortunately, last month only two articles were reviewed. This is definitely a low point after our peak at the beginning of the process when 163 articles were reviewed in September 2007. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. All exempt and previously reviewed articles have already been removed from the list. Instead of reviewing by topic, you can consider picking and choosing whichever articles interest you.

We are always looking for new members to assist with the remaining articles, so if you are interested or know of anybody that can assist, please visit the GA sweeps page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. If only 14 editors achieve this feat starting now, we would be done with Sweeps! Of course, having more people reviewing less articles would be better for all involved, so please consider asking others to help out. Feel free to stop by and only review a few articles, something's better than nothing! Take a look at the list, and see what articles interest you. Let's work to complete Sweeps so that efforts can be fully focused on the backlog at GAN. Hey ThinkBlue. I would just to apologise for and explain the disruption you may have noticed on WP:Good articles/recent. Following a bot request, it became apparent that it would be handy to have a bot pipe new additions to WP:GA onto the /recent subpage. Now, I admit that the bot's been having a few problems (it's still officially in trial), but I hope these have now been worked out. It should mean that every 5 minutes the newest additions are added automatically, so all users like you have to do is add the newly listed GA to WP:GA and let the bot do the work. Of course, you're allowed to do it yourself, but you don't have to. That's the plan, anyhow, so it might be an idea to add the article to WP:GA, then wait ten minutes. If the bot hasn't added it yet, add it manually and come straight to me so I can fix the bot. Essentially though, you can either carry on as normal or take advantage of the bot, as you wish.
