Speedy deletion nomination of Never Give In (Black Veil Brides EP)
[edit]A tag has been placed on Never Give In (Black Veil Brides EP), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Renegade Mons†er 23:39, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

Honestly I like it but it doesn't seem like a BVB-style cover art, it looks too fan-made, unless it was made official somehow, I just use the one it has now since it fits well, as the cover art on my iTunes.

(talk page stalker)BeAwareX1: Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Thatemooverthere: Please be careful when helping someone with a Conflict of Interest edit an article, especially if you are even slightly biased in their favor. As "probably the most dedicated editor of BVB's Wikipedia pages!" you are likely somewhat less objective than someone who doesn't care a bit about BVB. As such, you need to be extra-cautious about "helping" someone affiliated with BVB edit that article. If you can't bring yourself to withdraw your offer to BeAwareX1 to help him edit the BVB article(s), I encourage you to read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and treat BVB-related articles as if you have a conflict of interest even if you do not. This means suggesting changes on the talk page and waiting for other editors to make the changes, or not make the changes. If you do decide to make direct edits to the article without first proposing them on the talk page, you may find that many of your edits are reverted. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 04:49, 19 January 2014 (UTC)
(talk page stalker)Davidwr There are important things that need to be addressed with this Wiki. Wrong logo (the real Mourning Star is tilted, the one available here is straight), missing awards, missing sources, and you even claimed they didn't have an official website (www.blackveilbrides.net) in your most recent edit. Nevermind the legal issues that resulted in Wiki members adding BOOTLEG and flat our FAKE releases to their discography back in 2011. I'm not asking for edit in favor of the artist, just edits that reflect real information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BeAwareX1 (talk • contribs) 20:34, 20 January 2014
- @BeAwareX1:Removal of unsourced or not-reliably-sourced incorrect and/or defamatory information about living people is highly encouraged by Wikipedia's WP:Biographies of living persons policy. This is one of the major exceptions to the Conflict of Interest guideline. Other than this and other exceptions listed in WP:COI, the rules in WP:COI apply to editors who edit with a conflict of interest.
- Be wary of removing well-sourced incorrect or defamatory information if you have a conflict of interest. For example, if the New York Times said "Davidwr defrauded $10M from the Wikimedia Foundation" and I knew it was false, I could not remove that information unless either the NYT had retracted it or another reliable source had subsequently reported otherwise. Even if another reliable source DID say otherwise, if the NYT stood by their remarks, I could not remove a line that said "The New York Times said 'Davidwr defrauded $10M from the Wikimedia Foundation.'" because it's a fact that the NYTimes said it and it's a reliable source. However, I could recommend the removal of that text on the article's talk page and/or the addition of other information to bring the article back to being WP:Neutral and being less misleading. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 20:52, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Davey Suicide
[edit]Hello Thatemooverthere,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Davey Suicide for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Infant Annihilator really needs to have a page. I looked into creating one a year or two ago, and they didn't seem to meet the criteria, but at this point they're widespread and established to an extent that the absence is notably strange. Once you make the page, let me know so I can follow it, and I'll advocate for its permanence. TheLoneDeranger (talk) 05:14, 17 April 2018 (UTC) |

[edit]First, I closed your dispute resolution noticeboard request for Cannibal Corpse because it is obviously a conduct issue, involving the improper removal of talk page requests, and DRN is a place to discuss content issues and reach compromises on content, not a place to deal with misconduct. I advised you to report the misconduct at WP:ANI. However, second, it seems that the other editor has been blocked as a compromised account. Go ahead and edit the article, discussing your edits with any other editors who participate in discussion. The disruptive editing may have been done by a vandal or hacker using the compromised account. In any case, edit and discuss; the dispute has been taken care of for now. @Robert McClenon: Thank you for messaging me. I'm kinda new to the deeper inner workings of WP, including policy and things like dispute resolution. Question about talk page guidelines
[edit]Hi Thatmooverthere. I saw you post at WT:TPG#Help me. Although I originally responded there, it was suggested that it would be better to have reponded here instead. So, I am moving my comment here.
We can't really make editors communicate with us or engage in discussion when they don't want to; moreover, for the most part, they are allowed to remove posts or blank their user talk page per WP:BLANKING. At the same time, it is assumed that if they remove a post or blank their user talk page that they have read and understand everything posted on it; in other words, choosing not to respond does not mean they can claim that innocence later on if their editing is problematic. All you can do is properly notify them of issues and attempt to discuss things with them to resolve these issues. If the issues persist and the editor is not listening, then you can bring the matter up for discussion at the appropriate noticeboard.
The other editor, however, should not be removing your posts from Talk:Cannibal Corpse without providing a very good reason policy or guideline based reason for doing so. If they remove your article talk page posts again, just bring the matter up for discussion at WP:ANI. One thing I noticed is that it appears the editor is using WP:TWINKLE. Since they are still a new editor, they might not be familiar with how Twinkle works and when it should be used. This does not mean they are not responsible for any mistakes they make using Twinkle, but it might also indicate that they misunderstand WP:NOTVANDAL and just made a good-faith error here. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:36, 11 May 2018 (UTC)
@Marchjuly: Thanks for replying. I saw your comment both here and there, and I thank you for explaining. Someone else also explained to me that the user was blocked in the discussion above this one. I'm kinda new to dispute resolution and more specific editing policies and I wasn't sure where to turn because I wasn't aware of WP:ANI. In the future, I won't be asking for help in random talk pages! (lol) Thanks again. — Tha†emoover†here (talk) 13:22, 15 May 2018 (UTC)
Reliable sources
[edit]Hi, i really appreciate your creation of the Infant Annihilator page, but I'd advise you to look over WP:RS to get a better feeling for reliable sources. I went through the page and helped removing and fixing sentences that were all backed by terrible stuff like Spirit of Metal (which is essentially cancer because their content is always wrong) and webzines (which don't quality under the reliable source criteria). Hope I didnt come off like a dick in any of my edit summaries. Wasn't so aware who the main contributor was before I went into a heavy editing binge on the page. Also as a side unrelated note, do you like Decimated Humans? Second Skin (talk) 21:59, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
@Second Skin: Hey, I saw last night in the page history that you had went through and edited a lot of the content (I just published The Elysian Grandeval Galèriarch yesterday and was seeing if anyone had noticed it yet), but I had to go to work so I couldn't review the actual content of the edits you made (third shifts are fun, woooo). I still have yet to check out what all you changed, but I thank you for taking the time to go through and review it. You're actually the first editor other than me to make actual significant edits to the pages since they went live. I kinda just cranked them both out really quickly this month (because I enjoy the music and saw that it met the criteria at WP:MUSIC), so there was bound to be some kind of typos and other issues. Also, I am actually still working on one more related page for Dan Watson here since he also became notable per WP:MUSIC after both Enterprise Earth and Infant Annihilator became notable. I'll review the WP:RS later when I have more time. And I'm amazed to see that there's a page called WP:DICK lol.
And I've never heard of Decimated Humans, as I'm really new to the whole slam/grind scene (I'm assuming that's what it is), but I will check them out, again, when I have the time. (I've been into deathcore for the past few years, but bands like Vulvodynia, Abominable Putridity, Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship, and Operation Cunt Destroyer have me interested in this "slam" thing now...)
And what did you mean by "Wasn't so aware who the main contributor was before I went into a heavy editing binge on the page."? Do we know each other from somewhere else on this site?
P.S.
Regarding your dickish (lol) edit summary criticizing my lack of knowledge on what is slam/grindgore, I wrote those genres into the page solely based on AnimalFarm's self-applied genres on their Bandcamp page and other pages (I'm assuming you were referring to the genre labels for AnimalFarm in that summary), so maybe it is the actual band that doesn't know what slam and grindgore is? (though admittedly I don't know their genre or the differences between all these genres either lol) If you wanna help me out with that, I'd actually love it if you gave me a crash course or helped me understand what exactly is slam, grindgore, brutal death metal, etc, because they all sound so similar to me... slam is like Vulvodynia, Analepsy, Dehumanizing Itatrain Worship, and Abominable Putridity? But then Abominable Putridity and Ingested is also brutal death metal? But Ingested is also deathcore? Cattle Decapitation is grind? Are they considered slam too? Help me understand what's the difference between all these bands that justifies the different genre labels haha... I've noticed a lot of slam bands have the really slow chugging parts on the first few frets of the low strings and pig squeals, but deathcore bands also do those things, so I'm confused... And Vulvodynia's songs from their first EP that they re-recorded on Psychosadistic Design (especially "Forced Fecal Ingestion") really sound similar to Abominable Putridity's album The Anomalies of Artificial Origin to me, so why is that slam and not bdm? Help meeeee haha...
Sorry for the essay... and it's okay, I've also been a dick in my edit summaries before... — Tha†emoover†here (talk) 14:03, 23 May 2018 (UTC
- Well Vulvodynia and Operation Cunt Destroyer are a LOT more deathcore than much else, that's barely slam. If you want to check out actual purist slam, this is definitive slam, some other bands to check out are Epicardiectomy, Cerebral Incubation and Gorevent. So there ya go, there's four slam bands right there for you. Vulvodynia and trash like them (super shitty band I have to say) is widely considered just deathcore that gets passed off as "slam", they have some influences from the genre but they try so hard and market themselves as such. If you listen to the links I provided above, you'll get the better general idea of what it sounds like. Slam is actually a slow style of brutal death metal, which focuses mainly on the slow chugging parts which are referred to as slams or slam riffs. Also if you want a better in-depth explanation on how to tell slam death metal and deathcore apart, I recommend that you see this article if what I explained above isn't enough. I just had to remove the parts on the Infant Annihilator article where you were calling them "slam" away because that is just so, so wrong. Haha
- ...And as for Abominable Putridity, they can to some extent be called "slam", but it's VERY entry level slam, that's like saying you absolutely love deathcore but you only know Suicide Silence. AP's FIRST album (In the End of Human Existence) is a definitive slam album, but their second (The Anomalies of Artificial Origin) is more technical brutal death than it is slam death. In short, slam death metal is just really retarded-sounding slow pulverizing brutal death metal that focuses on slam riffs. There's your lesson for the day. And as for Decimated Humans, if you want to check them out here you go. In my personal opinion, theyre like Vulvodynia but a lot better (even their vocalist is featured on one of their songs). Anyway, hope this helped Second Skin (talk) 00:03, 24 May 2018 (UTC)
- Oh and PS: Cattle Decapitation is not slam by any means, like not even close. That's just death metal.
