DMB as a Jam Band
I'm not someone who would change something like this, but I just thought I'd drop you a line on the subject of labeling DMB as a jam band. In many circles of musicians, especially experimental, live-focused genres, the label jam band is lamented and a lot of times seen as derogatory. It insinuates that the music is random or accidental, which undermines the pursuit of establishing a practiced, highly technical sound that bands like DMB try to pursue.
Its not a life or death issue, but it is however seen as highly controversial to academics and people who find the term derogatory. It boils down to the interpretation of the word, its simplification, and integration into common vernacular, but as a number of the members of the band have publicly rejected the application of the term to their band, its a battle that won't be settled anytime soon. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pakman325 (talk • contribs) 05:32, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

Tezero
First, forgive me if I'm not doing this right, I'm new to the discussion page. I (think) I just left you a message on my discussion page but not sure. I wanted to talk about the postings on my band Blessid Union Of Souls and how to keep accurate information on there. Please see my discussion page or email me at buosmgt@gmail.com

You're probably aware, but I finished a do-over. I tried to remove any of the popular red flags at FAC ("with"/"while" in some usages, "including" in the case of mostly-complete lists, and passive voice where active wouldn't make it awkward). Feel free to revert any of the changes to improve the flow. Whew, this was an easier article to do than Popotan! ZeaLitY [ Talk - Activity ] 03:51, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi Tezero, thank you so much for your GA review. I just wanted to let you know that, the seven day hold aside, usually I'm pretty good at following up on responses quickly; but I just received guests at my house and may not be in full "edit mode" on Wikipedia for a couple of days; so please don't think I'm ignoring the review or the article. No Doubt discography
You're right - I haven't been on the wiki for quite a while. We need two more FAs. Looking at the articles available to go from GA to FA, I think we can rule out No Doubt, The Beacon Street Collection and Everything In Time as having insufficient coverage. I don't think Return of Saturn would take too much work to reach FA status, so let's take that. My second choice would be The Singles 1992-2003 as it at least has enough coverage to expand the article. EA Swyer Talk Contributions 22:00, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
Sonic
That was a mistake both in the edit description (which i cannot undo) and the fact I thought you removed another image for it. I do have some concerns with that image though and have placed them in the FAC page.陣内Jinnai 03:41, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Hey! Whatever's up with premature archiving on the FAC by the FAC director? Is there a time limit on a FAC I wasn't aware of? It seems to be a bit of a crappy decision, given that the work was being constantly done and misc issues addresses. What happens now? Does it get renominated in 2 weeks or? — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 17:56, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, I'll provide input should you renominate it or otherwise do a peer review or similar. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 18:37, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
You probably already noticed, but I posted a note at WT:POKE to explain my edit to Pokémon. I get what you said in the edit summary, but I have trouble reading "Who" as representative of an "it". I figured that I may as well explain myself to the project and not just you, since most probably saw our edits when they hit their watchlist. Also, I was wondering if you had taken that section was taken from the Digimon article, because I didn't see a note saying so in the edit summary as per WP:CWW —Ost (talk) 20:49, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
- No problem. I just knew I had read it before you added it yesterday, so I thought I should at least point it out. —Ost (talk) 20:58, 13 July 2010 (UTC)
Nintendo Power request
Hi, I was wondering if you could take a look at your Nintendo Power archives to help with some citations for killer7. Specifically, I'm looking for confirmation and page numbers of the awards listed in that section on the article. It should be issue 203 (May 2006). Thanks, Axem Titanium (talk) 12:19, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hey, thanks for this request earlier. I was wondering if you could take a look at killer7 and .hack (video game series) and possibly re-rate them based on WP:VG's rating criteria. .hack is clearly no longer Start class but I think I'm too involved to be able to re-rate them honestly. Axem Titanium (talk) 10:58, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks again! I've made the changes you suggested. I'll let you know when they're back up for FAC. Until then, happy editing. :) Axem Titanium (talk) 10:29, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
Another Nintendo Power request
Hi, By some strange coincidence I have a very similar question to the one immediately above mine. I'm looking for an issue number and confirmation for the "Inside Zelda: Part 11" article from Nintendo Power. I believe it's Issue #202 (April 2006) on page 36. Cheers, -Thibbs (talk) 19:17, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, also if I could get the page-span and the name of the author of the article that would be great. Thanks again, -Thibbs (talk) 19:24, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Romanization for words of English origin
On the MOS:JP talk page, a discussion has been started about including or not including romanizations for words of English origin, such as Fainaru Fantajī in Final Fantasy (ファイナルファンタジー, Fainaru Fantajī) (for the sake of simplicity, I called this case "words of English origin", more information on semantics here).
Over the course of a month, it has become apparent that both the parties proposing to include or not include those romanizations cannot be convinced by the arguments or guidelines brought up by the other side. Therefore, a compromise is trying to be found that will satisfy both parties. One suggestion on a compromise has been given already, but it has not found unanimous agreement, so additional compromises are encouraged to be suggested.
One universally accepted point was to bring more users from the affected projects in to help achieve consensus, and you were one of those selected in the process.
What this invitation is:
- You should give feedback on the first suggested compromise and are highly encouraged to provide other solutions.
What this invitation is not:
- This is not a vote on including or excluding such romanizations.
- This is not a vote on compromises either.
It would be highly appreciated if you came over to the MOS:JP talk page and helped find a solution. Thank you in advance. Prime Blue (talk) 11:38, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

I just added some more stuff, but I guess his design and game appearances are up to you as I just don't know/remember quite enough for this. --94.246.150.68 (talk) 19:02, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
I don't really know the games that well and the games' articles are mostly stubs. But I'm pretty sure his original design was largely based on Hanzo Hattori in Shadow Warriors.[1] The series was huge in Japan in the 1980s. Also http://www13.big.or.jp/~rinken/Shinobi/stories.html (google translate is quite hilarious, including " WTF ninjutsu magic"). --94.246.150.68 (talk) 22:10, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Also also, http://sega.jp/archive/album/09_shi/play.html has info including names of the weapons and http://sega.jp/archive/album/09_shi/ is even better (I'm just reading it, but I don't know if I'll write about it). Especially the interview (like, Naoko was the name of the planner Ooba Tadashi). --94.246.150.68 (talk) 22:26, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Well...
So I just cleaned up most Shinobi articles, and also re-created Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi (after 4 years). Now I just need to play all these games :P --94.246.150.68 (talk) 23:33, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
- I can't read any Japanese at all, I just use various online translators (mostly Google's). When you write a bio there's also legacy - his son there, his grandson elswehere, such things. Oh and not "original design", I meant the later design (above). --94.246.150.68 (talk) 19:45, 18 January 2011 (UTC)
Survey Questions
Hi Tezero, I am a PhD student from the Carnegie Mellon University. I am interested in the Wikipedia community, especially the group mechanism of collaboration of the week. I noticed that you have participated in WikiProject Alternative Music’s collaborations before. Could you please take several minutes to answer the following questions if possible? Thanks for your help!
Q1. How many times (approximately) have you participated in Alternative Music Collaboration of the Week?
Q2. How much do you learn from participating in Alternative Music Collaboration of the Week? A. A lot; B. A little bit; C. Not at all (please skip Q3 if you choose C)
Q3. What did you learn from participating in Alternative Music Collaboration of the Week? Please provide examples if possible.
Q4. Do you have any negative experience of Alternative Music Collaboration of the Week?
Q5. What do you think are some of the reasons for Wikiproject Alternative Music's cancellation of collaboration of the week?
You could leave your answers either in your or my talk page if possible. Thanks for your time! We have the same goal to make Wikipedia a better place.

File source problem with File:PokemonXDOverworld.JPG
Thank you for uploading File:PokemonXDOverworld.JPG. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:10, 10 March 2011 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Musamies (talk) 19:10, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Main page appearance
Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of this article know that it will be appearing as the main page featured article on May 3, 2011. You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/May 3, 2011. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured article director Raul654 (talk · contribs) or at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/requests. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :D Thanks! Shadow the Hedgehog is a 2005 video game developed by Sega Studio USA, the former United States division of Sega's Sonic Team. Featuring the titular fictional character Shadow the Hedgehog from Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series, Shadow the Hedgehog is the third game (and the last in the Sonic series) developed by Sega Studio USA. Following the trend of recent Sonic games such as Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog is a 3D platform game. Most levels have three possible missions—"Hero", "Dark", or "Normal"—that the player may choose to complete; some levels have only two (which mostly are only "Hero" and "Dark"). The missions completed determine the game's plot, a feature referenced by the game's tagline, "Hero or villain? You decide." The plot centers on the attempt of Shadow, a creation of Doctor Eggman's grandfather Gerald Robotnik, to learn about his past after suffering from amnesia. To defeat enemies encountered, Shadow can use various weapons and special attacks. Shadow the Hedgehog was created for the Nintendo GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox video game consoles. It received mixed to negative reviews; critics criticized its unwelcome "dark" theme, particularly the addition of guns and other weapons, but praised its replay value. (more...)
- You should change this to the day Sonic Generations comes out. Because of how bad Shadow is, it would be funny. :P « ₣M₣ » 21:40, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
- I meant when the release date is announced, request a TFAR for that date. « ₣M₣ » 23:30, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi Tezero. Thanks for your recent edit. However, for medical articles there are strict guidelines regarding suitable references which can be found at WP:MEDRS. Generally speaking, review articles published in respected medical journals are the preferred source. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/ might be a good place to start your search - make sure you select review articles from the box on your right to narrow down your search. WP:MEDMOS is also a good style guide for medical articles. I hope you continue to contribute. Watermelon mang (talk) 06:08, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre
Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. This message is directed to users who have reviewed over 15 Good article nominations and are not part of WikiProject Good articles (the first message I sent out went to only WikiProject members).
So for those who haven't heard about the Recruitment Centre yet, you may be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around it (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along. A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk) This message was sent out by --EdwardsBot (talk) 14:50, 9 June 2013 (UTC) |

Please use high quality references per WP:MEDRS such as review articles or major textbooks. Note that review articles are NOT the same as peer reviewed articles. A good place to find medical sources is TRIP database Thanks.

Bipolar disorder
Hi. I've removed the addition you made to the Bipolar Disorder article: its source was a book aimed at a popular audience by the author of the research in question, and thus was from a primary source. Please see WP:MEDRS for guidelines about sourcing for medical articles. -- The Anome (talk) 07:50, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
asexuality
thanks for the correction on the asexuality article — i must have misread the preceding sentence, as for all this time i'd thought it said asexuals face less discrimination! my bad. thanks as well for clarifying the conclusion of the sentence. i was trying to think of an appropriate alternative myself (but then i fell asleep). ~ Boomur [talk] 19:21, 2 August 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:DigimonWorld3Battle.JPG)
Thanks for uploading File:DigimonWorld3Battle.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Feminism
What's up with this edit to the feminism article? I would expect an edit like that from an MRM sockpuppet, not a long-standing respected Wikipedia editor. That article needs a lot of improvement, but putting fringe POV claims in the lead isn't one of them. Kaldari (talk) 06:46, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
