Re: 1936 NIO

[edit]

Good job so far on that! IBTRACS has a bunch of storms from 1936, so be sure to add those too. Also, you might want to try finding newspaper sources. Have you ever heard of the Wikipedia Library, where users can get access to newspaper archives? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 19:36, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

For your first opinion, that's what I'm currently doing. And for your second, I've not been here for six months, meaning I can't access it. OhHaiMark (talk) 19:38, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ah ok. Well, you're doing a great service going through the IMD reports. There could probably be an article for every NIO season going back to 1900. It's just going to take people some time researching everything. So kudos to that. Especially finding that deadly Myanmar storm. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 19:54, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, while l was looking at the IMD, they stated that there were reports as far back as the 1860s, and the WikiProject Tropical Cyclones have reports going back to 1891. OhHaiMark (talk) 19:59, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, it could probably go back before 1900, given how many deadly storms there are each year in the basin. I was looking into the 1936 storms. This source has a bit of info on some older storms, for example that Myanmar cyclone in April produced a storm surge of 5 meters. It also has info on an October storm in India. You'll be surprised what you find just by a good Google with some specific search results. You're definitely on the right track for the article. Just try getting a bit of info for every storm before publishing. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 21:55, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nice job finishing the article! I know how much time it takes compiling all of those sources, but the effort is appreciated. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:06, 20 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Asking Question

[edit]

You fellow rejected my draft Draft: Mandya railway station. I had copied and pasted from the another article Shrirangapattana railway station, why you didn't any action on that article till date or that article invisible to you? Lakyanaik Lambani (talk) 09:37, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Just because an article contains unsourced content, doesn't mean that this should. Also, I didn't reject it, I just declined it as some portions were unsourced. In fact, if you did cite those sections, I'd happily accept it. Tavantius (talk) 02:01, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sialia

[edit]

I'm wondering whether the village actually is the primary topic for Sialia, or whether the draft should be moved to Sialia (village). What made you choose the village as the ptopic? Cheers, Cremastra (talk) 20:11, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Seeing as there's already a DAB on the top of the draft, I determined that the draft could be accepted like that. Additionally, most sources which refer to the bluebird refer to it as Sialia sialus, so I didn't think it needed to stay like that. OhHaiMark (talk) 20:45, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request on 00:30:12, 19 September 2024 for assistance on AfC submission by FinnWilson

[edit]

Hi! Could you further clarify in what way the page for Common Core Ontologies doesn't meet Wikipedia's minimum standard for inline citations? Is it that there aren't enough citations? It seemed like a high density of citations to me, but I could be wrong.

Draft of Simon L. Dolan

[edit]

Hi, Thank you for reviewing Draft:Simon L. Dolan. Regarding the notability issue: I think that since Prof. Dolan has held a named chair in ESADE Business School, he satisfies Criterion 5 of the requirements in Wikipedia:Notability (academics).

Regarding the sources issue: I have replaced many references with independent sources . Please note that usually a researcher’s web page at a university site is considered a good source to establish that he works there, even though it is connected to him. The same should apply to refs to his articles that show the scope of his research. Would appreciate if you could review the edited draft again. Adig-pt (talk) 07:41, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the fast and positive action on this article! Adig-pt (talk) 06:50, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi Tavantius, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.

This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:

You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! signed, Rosguill talk 16:31, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • I noticed that you marked ‘Ali Karki’ as reviewed. Could you please explain which notability guidelines it meets? If you believe it does not meet notability guidelines, as suggested by the notability tag you added, why did you mark it as reviewed? If you think the subject is not notable, you should take the article to AfD before marking it as reviewed. If you’re unsure about its notability, just place the notability tag without marking it as reviewed, so that other reviewers can review it and potentially take it to AfD.
