Welcome to the Expert Request Sorting WikiProject, a collaboration area and group of editors dedicated to sorting articles needing expert attention. The overall objective of this project is to make it easier for experts to find articles they can improve. For more information on WikiProjects, please see Wikipedia:WikiProject and the Guide to WikiProjects.

Note: this project went defunct in 2009.

On March 13, 2021, JPxG sorted all 1,564 articles in Category:Articles needing unspecified expert attention. As of then, the category had been completely emptied.

On September 2, 2023 Pppery repeated the feat, and also cleared Category:miscellaneous articles needing expert attention.

If you achieve victory over these categories once more, brave warrior, record your name here, so that things done by Wikipedians may not be forgotten in time, and that great and marvelous deeds not lose their glory.

Goals

Completed: Split up the {{expert}} template into more specific expert subjects.
- Note that the discussion in /Categories led to the creation of {{expert-subject}}.
Apparently completed: As of November 2016^[update], both {{expert}} and {{expert-subject}} now redirect to {{Expert needed}}. In progress: Replace instances of {{expert}} with {{expert-subject}}.
Inform the appropriate Wikiproject and Portals that the categories have expert requests they might be able to address.

Guidelines

When replacing an {{expert}} tag in an article make sure to follow these important steps.

Find an appropriate WikiProject or Portal to assign the request to. WikiProjects are preferable over Portals.
Replace {{expert}} with {{expert-subject|Subject name}}. Please be careful of capitalization. This template will assign the article to the associated category, which is case-sensitive. Use the same capitalization as the project or portal.
