Replaceable fair use File:Lee Reherman.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Lee Reherman.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 12:37, 1 June 2020 (UTC)
- I see your disputing that a freely licensed image could be used. FYI, there absolutely is a free replacement available. I identified it when tagging the image for deletion, and I uploaded and added it to the article. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 17:41, 1 June 2020 (UTC)
- Good eye! Is there a way I could nominate the image I uploaded for deletion? TaurusEmerald 11:16, 1 June 2020 (UTC)
- You can tag it with {{Db-author}}. -- Whpq (talk) 22:01, 1 June 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Shane Rimmer.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Shane Rimmer.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria. If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the file can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{Non-free fair use}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the file. If the file has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whpq (talk) 18:18, 14 July 2020 (UTC)

Non-free images from commercial photo agencies
[edit]Non-free photos from commercial photo agencies are not acceptable unless the photo itself is the subject of commentary. Spome of the photos of deceased people you recently uploaded are from Getty Images and Shutterstock. These do not meet WP:NFCC#2 and in fact are subject to speedy deletion. Picture crop requests
[edit]Hi TaurusEmerald,
I am a NASCAR page editor and have noticed your edits to images (particularly cropping them) on a number of articles, and I appreciate them very much! I have noticed a few other articles in the past month or so that I think we should crop (for their infobox). When you do so, keep the original/current copies/version of them in Wikimedia like you did with the Todd Gordon and Jeremy Bullins photos in case those versions are used in other articles.
- Tim Andrews (only if you can manage to get as little of Kenny Wallace's head in the cropped version, LOL)
- Klaus Graf
- Jesus Hernandez (he's the guy with the hat and firesuit on)
- Kelli Stavast
Pictures of all of these people are in their infobox already.
Also, can you copy the version of the picture of Dave Burns in the teal shirt so there's a copy of the original version of it (where he's sitting with Jeremy Clements on the pit wall)? I just created Burns' article and want to put the other pic of him from 2015 in the infobox and put the image of him talking to Clements in the career section. It looks like when you cropped that image (from Clements and Burns to just Burns), you edited it so the original version doesn't have its own copy anymore.
I feel like there are a few more that I've come across that should also be cropped, but I forget them as of now. When I do remember what they are and if I have any more crop requests in the future, I'll talk page message you again.
Thanks and keep up the great work!

Works
[edit]Thank you for your edits. However, it currently is not time for additional static forms. Wikipedia takes strength very seriously. The articles may be forged soon, or cut loose at a later date, unless we can determine the gateway and the perch of the words. If you know this information, then you can add a it to your userpage or your flowchart subpage, or to the contents talk page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the main Wikipedia talk page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please follow the exit correlation steps. TheThingy Talk 18:10, 11 September 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Additional picture crop requests
[edit]Hi TaurusEmerald,
I have some more pictures I've added in some articles over the course of the past few months that I hope you can crop. All of them are in infoboxes. Here they are:
When you crop each of these images, make sure you don't edit the original file/version and that the cropped version is a separate copy of it (like I asked for last time). I think all of these images are in other articles.
Thanks,
Sean (Cavanaughs)

[edit]Hello, I'm Jooojay. I noticed that you recently removed content from Luis Estevez without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Do you have pictures of Daniel Dye and Rajah Caruth?
[edit]Hello TaurusEmerald,
With the 2021 ARCA Menards Series East season being over, the 2nd and 3rd place drivers in the final standings get their pictures at the top of the article as is the case in all past NASCAR and ARCA season articles. We don't have pictures of Daniel Dye and Rajah Caruth on Wikimedia as of when I'm posting this. I know that a lot of the pictures you upload are photos that Zach Catanzareti takes. Do you know if he or other photographers has any of those drivers?
Also, continue searching for pictures of the people (and places) in the "articles that do not have images" section on the WikiProject NASCAR "to-do" page. You do a very good job with this already, so hopefully you can find some more of those.
Thanks again!

[edit]Pictures to be cropped
[edit]Hi TaurusEmerald! Here's some more pictures that I've noticed over the last few months that are in infoboxes that should be cropped (although the original versions should be kept in case the images are used in other articles).
- Adam Alexander (this image has the side of his head although I hope a better image can be found/added to Wikimedia where he's facing the camera)
- Rajah Caruth (cropping out the background so he's the same size as Nick Sanchez at the top of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series as they're currently tied for the points lead)
- Tony Eury Jr. (he's on the pit box above the GoDaddy guy)
- Darian Grubb (although the way you cropped it last year with Stewart still in the picture looks funny now, so funny that it got mentioned in this Reddit post: https://www.reddit.com/r/NASCAR/comments/qi11b9/what_nascar_personality_has_the_worst_wikipedia/, if you draw a straight line to the right of the logo on his hat that'll crop out Tony Stewart which would be better)
- Spencer Pumpelly (cropping out the other guy from the photo)
Thanks again! Cavanaughs (talk) 22:59, 19 May 2022 (UTC)
Shane Wilson image
[edit]I just edited crew chief Shane Wilson's article and wanted to add this picture with him (File:Tanner gray pit stop (50059770771).jpg) in his infobox that I found on Wikimedia. However, he's only in an old version of the pic (scroll down- it's the second one from November 15, 2020) that has since been cropped so he's not in it. Can you make a copy of that image and make the copy the version from November 15, 2020 and then crop out Wilson and put that image in his infobox?
Thanks as always for your help! If I come across other images to crop, I'll let you know here on your talk page!
Thanks,

More pictures to crop
[edit]- Glenn Jarrett (on the right in the MRN shirt) in this picture: File:CameronHayley.jpg
- Bob Pockrass (wearing headphones) and Marty Smith (wearing sunglasses) in this picture: File:Jeff Gordon, media (28515926562).jpg
- Billy Scott (to the left of Suárez) in this picture: File:Daniel in the garage with crew.jpg
- Mike Shiplett (to the left of the Air Force Chief of Staff) in this picture: File:CSAF, wife meet with NASCAR team 110704-F-GA376-008.jpg
When you crop these images, make them a copy of the original image. Move the current images in the infoboxes of Glenn Jarrett, Bob Pockrass and Marty Smith's articles to the "career" sections of those articles.

Pictures to crop
[edit]- Steve Letarte
- Brian Pattie (in this pic: File:DSCN0929 (6358178731).jpg, he is the guy in the middle of the pit box standing up and facing left and is wearing a hat and his hand is covering his ear/headphones)
- Keith Rodden (in this pic: File:Kasey Kahne Coca-Cola 600 2009.jpg, he is the guy behind the car wearing the red Budweiser hat and directly below the letter "p" on the UPS pit wall banner)
Cavanaughs (talk) 23:59, 12 November 2022 (UTC)
- Brian Pattie's the one in the pit box with the Target hat, correct? Just want to confirm.
- TaurusEmerald (talk) 00:10, 13 November 2022 (UTC)
Yes, that's correct. I meant to include that in the description in my edit summary on Pattie's article. I also should've copied that description into this message. I've added that as well as a pic I found with Keith Rodden in it. Also, can you crop Pattie's picture so his shirt is in it. If it was just his head, it'd be really small and blurry in the infobox. Thanks! Cavanaughs (talk) 01:59, 13 November 2022 (UTC)

Additional pictures to crop
[edit]- Luke Fenhaus - He is the guy to the right of Chandler Smith in the front row holding the sign (his name and number are on his t-shirt) in this picture: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Luke_Fenhaus#/media/File:2019SlingerNationalsField.jpg Make sure you crop it so that parts of the faces of the drivers around him aren't showing- if you do that, the cropped image will be in a vertical rectangle shape.
- Giselle Zarur - She is the lady holding the Fox microphone in this picture: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Giselle_Zarur#/media/File:Ricky_stenhouse_jr_victory_lane_(52703148111).jpg I would crop it so that the microphone is showing. If it was just her head that was cropped, people would be wondering what the black thing below her chin is (it's the camera guys to the right of her holding cameras).
Both of these pictures are in their articles already and only need to be cropped with the cropped versions of those images going in the infoboxes.

Are you going to Sonoma this weekend?
[edit]You went to last year's races at the track and took so many great pictures! If you're going again this year, hopefully you're able to take pictures of drivers and others that are on the list of people without pictures on Wikipedia:WikiProject NASCAR/To-do and add them to their articles!
Cavanaughs (talk) 07:59, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
- At the track campsite right now. I'll see what I can do about those drivers for Friday's ARCA race. TaurusEmerald (talk) 14:16, 9 June 2023 (UTC)
Great! Hopefully you were able to get some pictures of the ARCA drivers that don't have pictures yet and their cars and hopefully you can get pictures of the Xfinity Series drivers and crew chiefs and Cup Series crew chiefs that we don't have pictures of yet.
I would also add better pictures of Adam Alexander (if you see him at the track) and Kyle Weatherman. Also, if you see Josh Sims (pit reporting for the Xfinity Series race), take a picture of him as well although he doesn't have an article yet (in case he does get one eventually).
Here's who is entered in this weekend's Xfinity and Cup Series races who we don't have pictures of yet. (Cup Series No. 14 crew chief Johnny Klausmeier would also be on this list but he is currently suspended.)
DRIVERS:
- Mason Filippi (Xfinity No. 66)
- Connor Mosack (Xfinity No. 24)
CREW CHIEFS:
- Steve Addington (Xfinity No. 38)
- Randall Burnett (Cup No. 8)
- Chris Gabehart (Cup No. 11)
- Chad Johnston (Cup No. 41)
- Matt McCall (Cup No. 6)
- Jeff Meendering (Xfinity No. 18)
- Dave Rogers (performance director for 23XI, if you see him at the track)
- Pat Tryson (Xfinity No. 78)
- Alex Yontz (Xfinity No. 10)
Hope you can help! Thanks!
Cavanaughs (talk) 14:01, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
- Unfortunately I don't have VIP access to the garage, but I got lots of pictures of some ARCA drivers during an autograph session. There's supposed to be another session with Xfinity Series drivers today, so I'm more likely able to take photos of them. You'll also expect one from Connor Mosack as he'll be speaking from one of the booths in the Fan Zone. TaurusEmerald (talk) 14:23, 10 June 2023 (UTC)
Pictures for Landmark Award and SHA articles to crop
[edit]These images are in the Landmark Award and Squier-Hall Award articles that I created earlier this month. The cropped images will replace the images in the charts in each of those articles.
- Edsel Ford II - The guy in the white shirt on the right in this photo: File:Joey logano championship celebration (45277678314).jpg I also added this image into the infobox of his article and the cropped version will go in there too.
- Chris Economaki - The guy in the yellow shirt on the right in this photo: File:CarrollShelbyChrisEconomaki2007.jpg Also, crop out his body from the image so it fits better in the infobox.
- Bob Jenkins - Crop out his body from the image so it fits better in the infobox.
Also, the images in Andy Seuss, Brent Stover and Billy Venturini's infobox images.
Keep the original versions of all of these images and have the cropped versions as copies of the original versions.

Reversion of Photo in Jodi Benson Article
[edit]Please explain further your replacing yesterday of the 2022 GalaxyCon photo of Jodi Benson in the infobox with the photo of Jodi Benson at the premiere of World of Color at Disney California Adventure Park in 2010. If you couldn't find where that comment is on Ms. Benson herself preferring the earlier photo, there is potential for some other editor thinking your reversion is unnecessary and changing it back to the 2022 GalaxyCon photo.Jim856796 (talk) 14:46, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
- Earlier I uploaded a picture of Jodi Benson at GalaxyCon Raleigh in 2021 with the intent that it would be used in other articles besides her main page. It soon became the main infobox photo on that page without my knowledge until Jodi made a comment and requested that it should be reverted back to the old one. The same thing happened with Kerri Green a couple of months ago with a picture of her at GalaxyCon Richmond being replaced with a professional photo of herself. That's about all I can explain at this point, so if you aren't satisfied, there's a more recent picture of Jodi at GalaxyCon Austin this year if you plan to revert it back. TaurusEmerald (talk) 16:51, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
- Won't that constitute article ownership if Jodi asked that the photo in her article be changed? Why would she even ask something like that? Unfortunately, Wikipedia's policy on page ownership states that not even the subject of an article can own his or her own article. Does Jodi Benson actually read Wikipedia? Or Kerri Green? What policy/guideline mandated yesterday's image change? I'll go ahead and change it to that 2023 GalaxyCon pic, but what if you revert it to the 2010 pic again?Jim856796 (talk) 00:56, 13 September 2023 (UTC)
- Not quite sure if others read their own articles, but I know of a few cases where I added a Commons-licensed image of subjects that either don't have pictures on their pages or haven't been updated for some time and are later replaced with professional photoshoots, like Leva Bates and Frank Welker. It's probably at the request of their agency or maybe we don't know what their secret username is. Heck, I myself have my own Wikipedia article that I'm not allowed to touch. The only thing I mainly make edits to are updating pictures in infoboxes. TaurusEmerald (talk) 17:52, 13 September 2023 (UTC)

If you're going to Sonoma this weekend: Drivers and crew chiefs who need pictures
[edit]Hi TaurusEmerald, You took some great pictures last year of a lot of drivers at an autograph session when you went to the Sonoma race weekend. If you're going again this year, I thought I'd provide you a list of drivers and crew chiefs who don't have infobox pictures yet.
Cup Series crew chiefs:
- Chad Johnston - Ryan Preece's crew chief on the SHR No. 41
- Chris Lawson - Justin Haley's crew chief on the RWR No. 51
- Matt McCall - Brad Keselowski's crew chief on the RFK No. 6
Xfinity Series drivers:
- Thomas Annunziata - Making his Xfinity Series debut in the JDM No. 6
- Austin Green - Driving the JAR / Peterson Racing Group No. 32
- Kyle Weatherman - He's wearing a helmet in the only picture we have of him so a new one where we can see his face would be good
Xfinity Series crew chiefs:
- Greg Ives - Crew chiefing the Hendrick No. 17 driven by Boris Said
- Jeff Meendering - Chandler Smith's crew chief on the JGR No. 81
- Dan Pardus - Crew chiefing his son Preston's No. 50 car, he's also a former driver
- Alex Yontz - AJ Allmendinger's crew chief on the Kaulig No. 16
West Series drivers:
- Brent Crews - No. 15 for Venturini
- Tony Huffman - No. 0 for Bobby Hillis Jr's team
- Travis McCullough - No. 21 for Nascimento
- Rodd Kneeland - No. 68 for his own team
- Caleb Shrader - No. 6 for Jerry Pitts Racing
- Dave Smith - No. 77 for Performance P-1
- Tim Spurgeon - No. 86 for his own team
Also, thanks for cropping the images of Steve Addington, Chris Gabehart and Travis Mack in recent months. Some other people that can have their infobox images cropped: Randall Burnett, George Gorham Jr and Mamba Smith.
Thank you!
Cavanaughs (talk) 16:59, 6 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for cropping the images of Randall Burnett and Mamba Smith so quickly! George Gorham Jr. is the guy in the firesuit on the left side of his infobox picture. If you Google Image search him, it looks like it is him/the back of his head if you'd like to crop the rest of the image out for the infobox (if not, it's fine- it is only the back of his head!). Cavanaughs (talk) 14:57, 8 June 2024 (UTC)
- I'm back from Sonoma and am currently in the process of adding descriptions to every picture I took during the event. All photos should be up by this evening. TaurusEmerald (talk) 17:19, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
Picture from ARCA race at Iowa
[edit]Hi again,
I saw you added a picture from this year's ARCA race at Iowa to Wikimedia that was taken by a member of the military (so for that reason it's in the public domain). However, the image has a title that doesn't describe what is happening in the picture (drivers backstage waiting to be introduced for driver intros)- IDK you're able to rename it to something like "ARCA 2024 Iowa Driver Intros" or something like that. Also, hopefully the cropped images of Amber Balcaen and Kevin Hinckle can be renamed to something with those drivers' names in the titles as well. We didn't have an image of Hinckle yet so I added it to his infobox. Another driver that is in the big pic of the drivers waiting to be introduced is Christopher Tate. He's standing to the left of Hinckle wearing the orange and gray firesuit. Can you crop it and put the new cropped version in his infobox? Thanks!
Also, another picture that would be great if you could crop is this one of Presley Sorah at this year's ARCA race at the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway (File:Presley Sorah at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in 2024.jpg). Standing behind him in the yellow shirt and overalls is Pastor Joe Nelms, who was famous for giving the invocation at the 2011 Xfinity Series race at Nashville Superspeedway. He gave the invocation for this race as well. (See the invocation and interview with him from this race on NASCAR YouTuber Danny B Talks' vlog: https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=DlcWvLmNcHs) Maybe we could put this picture of him in the Nashville Superspeedway article where his 2011 invocation is mentioned?
