Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Rickrolling, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 17:58, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Seriously, you don't need to welcome me to Wikipedia. This was not at all self-promotion. Just because the tweet was one of mine... ConnorJack (talk) 19:40, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sup Stew. Didn't even realize it was you. You'll need a source for this 'tweetroll' thing. –xenotalk 19:43, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, that's just part of the template. In the edit history, you wrote "It is an example from me." Pretty sure that counts as self-promotion. Wikipedia is not for something you made up in a day. Find a reliable source about "tweetrolling" and then we can discuss adding it in the article. Oh, and another editor also reverted your additions. — HelloAnnyong (say whaaat?!) 19:45, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
LOL @ WP:MADEUP!! How do you think Microsoft was started? How was Wikipedia started? Somebody thought it up. Nevertheless, i'm not getting into an edit war ConnorJack (talk) 19:50, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Come on Stew, you know better than this. Wikipedia is not a publisher of original thought. –xenotalk 19:52, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, but I just thought that "tweetrolling" is an effective way of rickrolling ConnorJack (talk) 19:53, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Did you make it up though? For one thing tweetroll is already being used to refer to something else (analagous to a blogroll) –xenotalk 19:55, 27 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:NorthwesternLaw logo.jpg

[edit]
⚠
Thanks for uploading File:NorthwesternLaw logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk 03:43, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Winter of 2010-2011 in the United Kingdom has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOT#NEWS, an ongoing weather report on a winter that hasn't started yet.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. A discussion has begun about whether the article Heavy Snowfall of Late 2010 in the United Kingdom, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Heavy Snowfall of Late 2010 in the United Kingdom until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Abductive (reasoning) 16:14, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
⚠
Thanks for uploading File:International Cricket Captain Box Art.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:28, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. For the Election committee, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 13:50, 24 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Wikipedia:Newsletter" listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place to address the redirect Wikipedia:Newsletter. The discussion will occur at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2021 December 9#Wikipedia:Newsletter until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. —GMX🎄(on the go!) 15:09, 9 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Connorturnbullsig.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused personal file. Out of scope.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 11:24, 4 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:The Sims 3 Ambitions American box art.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:The Sims 3 Ambitions American box art.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 00:53, 8 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of BeyondSims for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article BeyondSims is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/BeyondSims until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.
