Welcome! After years of trying we've got you on our team. This is what we started wikipedia up for, not to help people out about finding out information, but getting you to become a member of Wikipedia, you rock!
A tag has been placed on The Big Race, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable (see the guidelines for notability here). If you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please write {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.
Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, articles #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 17:38, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
This is your last warning.
The next time you create an inappropriate page such as The Big Race, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. NawlinWiki 17:12, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
You have been temporarily blocked from editing because of repeated vandalism to Wikipedia. Please note that page blanking, addition of random text or spam, deliberate misinformation, privacy violations, personal attacks, and other deliberate attempts to disrupt Wikipedia are considered vandalism. If you wish to make useful contributions, you may come back after the block expires. Don't recreate The Big Race when you return or you will be blocked permanently. NawlinWiki 17:21, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
Why have you deleted the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cup pages, i edited loads on them. football (soccer for the yankee idiots who run this) is the biggest sport in the world. bigger than the boring sports of baseball and american football, so bring those articles back please
Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. Chris cheese whine 18:57, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
Re. Motorman being blocked
[edit]Hello. Sorry, but I am declining your request. Blocks are not meant to be punitive and I cannot have Motorman blocked until "he has served a suitable punishment". He was blocked for running a vandalism only account. He is free to create a new account if he intends to start making valued contributions to Wikipedia. Regards, Húsönd 17:16, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Re. Motorman being blocked
[edit]Dear Sir/Madam,
I agree full well with Motorman being blocked. His constant manipulative vandelism has greatly harmed wikipedia, and the wikipedia community. I believe this should be punishable by death. I do not agree with your 'serving a suitable punishment' rubbish, and i hope you will turn your efforts into providing wholesome arcticles for wikipedia, rather than vandelising Motorman's talk page. Yours faithfully Zesty Prospect 19:37, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
Re. Vandelism
[edit]I was annoyed, and a little suprised, to find the words 'You must abide by our rules here at Wikipedia or you will be blocked and/or beheaded' on my talk page. I consider this vandelism and if you do this again i will 'get you done in' in some way.
RegardsZesty Prospect 17:40, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed, no matter how well intended that isn't an appropriate comment to make, particularly to a new user who hadn't done anything (at least that I'm aware of). Please try to be more considerate with your comments, or make it more obvious that you are kidding. Thanks SGGH 19:54, 7 March 2007 (UTC)
- Private Joke. Don't get involved, it wasn't vandalism. We always leave stupid jokes on each other's talk. His old user got blocked because of jokes. Soopahoops77, the talk is usually in the signature, but that would be pointless on my talk page 17:18, 8 March 2007 17:18 (UTC)

- Well I don't pretend to know anything about private jokes, I just call it as I see it. As long as jokes are obviously jokes, and don't get too out of hand, that's fine. Have a good one! SGGH 18:01, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Friendship
[edit]Ok, the 'joke' as you call it is getting way out of hand. Lets just call an end to all this unpleasentness. I am sorry for overeacting. I would like to be friends. Please reply. Kind regards, Zesty Prospect 18:26, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
- Always good to see cooperation! Thanks for the message Soopa, nicely handled :) See you guys, SGGH 18:37, 8 March 2007 (UTC)
Er, welcome back, I think...
[edit]Welcome back! It is good to hear that you don't intend to be blocked again. I trust this means that you will be co-operating with us, in which case you will be welcomed. Otherwise, well, basically, vandalism isn't tolerated on WP, so you'd be wasting your time and everyone else's. I trust it is the former... EdJogg 20:57, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Whether it's historic or not and no matter what the population if you're going to start an article then either A. put some context into it so it's actually useful right off the bat or put a note that you plan on expanding it in the coming days. Too many people will create a page with this much content and then not ever touch it again. I will take the Speedy deletion off but please remember in the future to add more content or a note in the future.SyBerWoLff 22:50, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
- I've checked the article you're discussing about. It simply doesn't prove its notability. Please improve it or we'll be forced to CSD it again :-(. Every article that die, it's a loss for wikipedia, it may have been, one day, a good one, but article without context or that doesn't prove its notability, must be deleted, that's wikipedia policy. I have my personal opinions on the matter, but what counts is the policy. Snowolf (talk) CON COI - 23:00, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi, and welcome to the London Transport WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of London's transport system.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- You may want to join or create a task force which attempts to drive the improvement of articles within a smaller scope.
- The project also provides templates to help you make the perfect article.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Starting some new articles? Our article structure tips outlines some things to include.
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every London transport article in Wikipedia.
- You can vote for the London Transport portal's selected article and selected image of the month here.
- Submit your interesting London Transport facts at Portal:London Transport/Did you know for our portal.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around!

Can you provide a bit more information on this than "Created it myself" please? Things that concern me:
- Presence of the logos
- Copyright claims branded onto the image
In the absence of more specific info, I have marked these images as being without source information. Chris cheese whine 09:59, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

a serious issue
[edit]An old man, a boy and a donkey were going to town. The boy rode on the donkey and the old man walked. As they went along they passed some people who remarked it was a shame the old man was walking and the boy was riding. The man and boy thought maybe the critics were right, so they changed positions.
Later, they passed some people that remarked, "What a shame, he makes that little boy walk." They then decided they both would walk! Soon they passed some more people who thought they were stupid to walk when they had a decent donkey to ride. So, they both rode the donkey.
Now they passed some people that shamed them by saying how awful to put such a load on a poor donkey. The boy and man said they were probably right, so they decided to carry the donkey. As they crossed the bridge, they lost their grip on the animal and he fell into the river and drowned.
The moral of the story?
If you try to please everyone, you might as well kiss your "ass" good-bye.

Misplaced tags
[edit]Hi, I notice you've added some wikiproject tags to children's television articles. Unfortunately, these are supposed to go on the talk pages of the articles, not the main articles. Therefore, could you go back and move them to their respective talk pages, please? Bob talk 19:28, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- In addition, I've removed your compilation of images from this template, as these images are copyrighted, and their use on this template cannot be tagged as fair use. In addition, you cannot use the public domain tag, because the images contained within the image are still copyrighted by their respective authors. Therefore, it should probably be listed for deletion. If you have any questions, please ask me on my talk page. Bob talk 20:57, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Unspecified source for Image:Wikiproject kidstvuk collage.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Wikiproject kidstvuk collage.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:08, 29 March 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bob talk 21:08, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Tagging
[edit]Stop!
I don't want to be rude but that was just to get your attention. Your tagging the main page of an article, this is not how it done, you put the tag on the talk page! Also the smily image on the banner is better as the other file is about to be deleted. Gran2 19:32, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Image:Children's UK TV.jpg listed for deletion
[edit]If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. —Pilotguy cleared for takeoff 23:45, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Look

Replaceable fair use Image:West_london_tram_map.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:West_london_tram_map.jpg. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 17:53, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Sussex county flag.JPG
[edit]Image:Sussex county flag.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Speedy deletion of Template:User:UBX/QPRFC
[edit]A tag has been placed on Template:User:UBX/QPRFC requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Hey there.
I've recently posted on WP:HERTS and User:Simply South's talk page about the possibility of bringing the project back to life, and if so how we would go about this and what we would do. I was wondering if you would be interested in getting involved? I think we have a small but dedicated and diverse group of editors, including editors with interests in geography, sports, transport, mills, politics, music and history. If we could bring these talents together I reckon we could produce some fantastic work on some of the project's key areas, for instance (but not limited to) Hertfordshire, History of Hertfordshire (which is already a good article), and the county's larger settlements.
Personally I believe the key to successfully bringing together the efforts of editors with interest in anything remotely Herts related will be to maintain at least a semi-active talk page at WT:HERTS. Feel free to give any thoughts or suggestions there, or even to ask if you want a quick pair of eyes on something. Regards, WFCforLife (talk) 21:15, 10 November 2009 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. — This, that, and the other (talk) 09:28, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Invite to the African Destubathon
[edit]Hi. You may be interested in participating in the African Destubathon which starts on October 15. Africa currently has over 37,000 stubs and badly needs a quality improvement editathon/contest to flesh out basic stubs. There are proposed substantial prizes to give to editors who do the most articles, and planned smaller prizes for doing to most destubs for each of the 53 African countries, so should be enjoyable! So it would be a good chance to win something for improving stubs on African sportspeople, including footballers, athletes, Olympians and Paralympians etc, particularly female ones, but also male. Even if contests aren't your thing we would be grateful if you could consider destubbing a few African articles during the drive to help the cause and help reduce the massive 37,000 + stub count, of which many are rated high importance (think Regions of countries etc). If you're interested in competing or just loosely contributing a few expanded articles on African Paralympians, Olympians and committees etc, please add your name to the Contestants/participants section. Diversity of work from a lot of people will make this that bit more special. Thanks. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:13, 6 October 2016 (UTC)
