Postpartum psychosis

[edit]

Hi,

You revisions look to be going well so far. Lots of good information. However please be mindful of proper styles of formatting on Wikipedia. For example, section heads are bracketed by a number of "=" to indicate their indentation. I have done this for you in the Postpartum psychosis. See The Wikipedia Manual of Style for more details, or look at other well-established articles for guidance.Legitimus (talk) 20:07, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfC notification: Draft:Organic Psychoses of Childbearing has a new comment

[edit]
I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Organic Psychoses of Childbearing. Thanks! Robert McClenon (talk) 12:00, 21 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am grateful to Robert McClenon for suggestions on the improvement of this submission. He commented:

[1] That the article reads like a subsection from a textbook, rather than a summary of what has been written by reliable sources.

The problem is that there are no other reliable sources. Very few books have been written on postpartum psychoses, and only one on the organic causes – my monograph published in 2006 (reference 4). Alwyn Lishman is an authority on organic psychiatry, but does not deal with this topic; in fact he wrote a forward to this monograph. My book ‘rescues’ knowledge contained in about 1,000 articles, theses and books written in the last 250 years. The book is a compendium of what has been written by a multitude of sources (of varying reliability). The book is not really a textbook – it would never be recommended to students of any discipline to ‘mug up’ for an examination; it is a source of information for scholars, scientists and clinicians. The submission is a summary for the Wikipedia community, which I hope will guide them to deeper knowledge in areas of interest to them.

[2] That the submission has no lead section. Partly this is my mistake in entitling the first paragraph ‘Introduction’, rather than leaving it untitled. My ‘introduction’ was intended to be a lead section. I have studied Wikipedia’s guidelines on lead sections, and see that this opening paragraph needs to be improved, identifying the topic, putting it in context, and stating why it is important, before summarizing the most important points. That is the main change in this re-submission.

[3] Thirdly, it has no links. I have supplied 23 links.

I am sorry that the instruction       does not seem to work. I have still not found a solution to indenting my case examples, which will improve the readability of this entry.

Many thanks for considering this re-submission.

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Psychiatric disorders of childbirth shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. Welcome

[edit]
Welcome to Wikipedia and Wikiproject Medicine

Welcome to Wikipedia! We have compiled some guidance for new healthcare editors:

  1. Please keep the mission of Wikipedia in mind. We provide the public with accepted knowledge, working in a community.
  2. We do that by finding high quality secondary sources and summarizing what they say, giving WP:WEIGHT as they do. Please do not try to build content by synthesizing content based on primary sources.
  3. Please use high-quality, recent, secondary sources for medical content (see WP:MEDRS; for the difference between primary and secondary sources, see the WP:MEDDEF section.) High-quality sources include review articles (which are not the same as peer-reviewed), position statements from nationally and internationally recognized bodies (like CDC, WHO, FDA), and major medical textbooks. Lower-quality sources are typically removed. Please beware of predatory publishers – check the publishers of articles (especially open source articles) at Beall's list.
  4. The ordering of sections typically follows the instructions at WP:MEDMOS. The section above the table of contents is called the WP:LEAD. It summarizes the body. Do not add anything to the lead that is not in the body. Style is covered in MEDMOS as well; we avoid the word "patient" for example.
  5. We don't use terms like "currently", "recently," "now", or "today". See WP:RELTIME.
  6. More generally see WP:MEDHOW, which gives great tips for editing about health -- for example, it provides a way to format citations quickly and easily
  7. Citation details are important:
    • Be sure to cite the PMID for journal articles and ISBN for books
    • Please include page numbers when referencing a book or long journal article, and please format citations consistently within an article.
    • Do not use URLs from your university library that have "proxy" in them: the rest of the world cannot see them.
    • Reference tags generally go after punctuation, not before; there is no preceding space.
  8. We use very few capital letters (see WP:MOSCAPS) and very little bolding. Only the first word of a heading is usually capitalized.
  9. Common terms are not usually wikilinked; nor are years, dates, or names of countries and major cities. Avoid overlinking!
  10. Never copy and paste from sources; we run detection software on new edits.
  11. Talk to us! Wikipedia works by collaboration at articles and user talkpages.

Once again, welcome, and thank you for joining us! Please share these guidelines with other new editors.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Psychiatric disorders of childbirth, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Depression (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 12:41, 31 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for leaving a message there. However, to sign your posts, four tildes are enough. There is no need to add anything else after the 4 tildes. Just use tildes, not 8, and there is no need to type your username. The 4 tildes does it yourself.

Like this: ~~~~ gives Son of Fraser and Joyce (talk) 06:43, 26 May 2020 (UTC), which is enough. Thank you, and keep that in mind![reply]
