Potential bias - not based on username

[edit]

You just made a bunch of edits on Caracas drone explosions calling a quote “excessive”, and changing words from neutral to language which supports the accusations of an assassination attempt (e.g. “operation”→”attack”) and which try to dampen the truth to match statements which the article already notes have been proven false (e.g. “panicked flight”→”dispersion”). You also broke a reference tag. Please slow down. I don’t know if you’re deliberately skewing the page to be more supportive of Maduro or if the way you feel inclined to write has it as a side effect, but it is happening. I’m not trying to be rude or accusatory, I’m just voicing concern because on an article about Maduro we want to be even more sure that the text about him is completely neutral - not supporting or detracting in original text, only describing other views. So if you’re unaware, you could review edits so they don’t have to be altered.

I also note that the only edits you’ve made are to the page in question, which suggests you don’t have the experience of judging NPOV. It could also mean you joined Wikipedia only to edit the article, which suggests a personal connection or interest and a greater possibility of bias, which could well be unintentional. "Operation" is a POV term, armies engage in "operations", terrorists don't.

"Panicked flight" is just soapboxing the event.Son of Caracas (talk) 15:27, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Tip

This sort of comment can work against you. It is a personal attack. Please be calm and polite. That is a winning strategy here. Best, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 04:34, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Caracas drone explosions

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to be blocked from editing Wikipedia. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. Thank you. --Jamez42 (talk) 18:55, 12 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
