The fact is that this guy is harrassing me. He has continually deleted everything I have added to articles, he has thrown insults at me, he has refused to engage in any meaningful debate, he lies about his sources, he is highly disruptive. Administrators give him a free hand to do this, because they are too busy with petty and inane discussions on user boxes and such. Hi. Please have a look at Talk:Communist Party of India (Marxist)? Two anti-CPI(M) users are determined to make the article into their own noticeboard of slander, and the talk just gets weirder and weirder. Conspiracy theories, cheating with sources and insinuations against other editors. Thanks for your kind words. I get frustrated when there is no forward momentum and get annoyed when someone engages in ad hominems instead of getting on with the job. Personally, I am not a Communist, but have spent enough time in West Bengal to know that the situation is far more complex than some are trying to portray it. From my personal experience of property development in Kolkata, I can say that the CPI(M), Trinamool, every puja committee and a multitude of self-serving bureaucrats were demanding heavy bribes in return for progress on planning applications. Politics in West Bengal are not vastly different from other metropolitan areas of India in terms of corruption and inter-cadre violence, but without the caste-based vote banks and neta-worship you see in many other states. Apart from parts of Midnapore, it is certainly less violent, and in general the state is better managed than it has been in the past, largely due to Buddhadeb's initiative to move the party to a technocratic, social democratic position. So when I see distortions and exagerrations, intended to give the impression that Nandigram was somehow worse than the Gujarat carnage or that the state is in decline, I know that there is a deeply biased agenda involved and I can guess where it is coming from. I would like to see a balanced approach that acknowledges some of the more serious debates about the CPI(M), while avoiding the emotive and vulgar rhetoric that always comes with political activism anywhere in the democratic world. There needs to be a way of separating wheat from chaff when it comes to deciding appropriate criticism of the CPI(M) to include in the article.--Conjoiner (talk) 01:58, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Marxist and Leninist in lowercase

Soman, I see that you have created a number of pages about parties with the words "Marxist" and "Leninist" in the name. Sometimes you capitalize Marxist and Leninist, and sometimes you don't. It seems like you often write marxist-leninist in lowercase letters when the original name of the party is written in Spanish. While Marxist and Leninist aren't proper nouns in Spanish, they are in English. For example, Marxism and Leninism always capitalize the words "Marxist" and "Leninist." As a native speaker of American English, I can tell you that "marxism" with a lower-case m looks really odd. Thus, I think that all of those articles should be moved in order to give them capital Ms and Ns. Infobox Indian Political Party

Thanks for making the changes. I do not agree with some of the points. Info box should be conceice and should only include information that are common with other political parties in India and that gives a good outsider's view.

  1. I don't think International Affiliation should be part of info box.
  Party level International Affiliation indicates a sort of organizational subordination to an foreign entity. I donot think any political
  party has such affiliation.

  2. I think the the wings, student .. cultural, should not be part of the info box.
  Every party has issue centric groups, wings,etc. But it is the parties internal mechanism to project its influence. So, even though some
  parties have commonality in this regard, being internal mechanism, it should be in the body of the article.

As you had suggested, I removed the international Aff and cultural wing. I am suggesting that Student wing and Youth wing should be consolidated into one,youth wing, and if a patty has more than one they can be individually added. Also the Labour wing and Peasants wing should be consolidated into Trade Union. Farmers are labourors and physical labour is their trade. So these organisations can be listed under trade unions.

I understand by this edit summary: [1] that you assume that anytime someone tags an article for deletion, they must have a hidden agenda personally against you. That is not necessarily the case. For this article, the fact that you note in the edit sumamry, that this was a party that was well represented in a national assembly, is not mentioned in the article, nor is there a single external reference in the article at all. While I understand that your ability to read minds must be fantastic, you cannot assume that the rest of us can actually know things that are not explicitly written in the article. A good course of action would be to actually WRITE the facts that make it worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia INTO the article, and to also cite your references, rather than to make wild assumptions about the motives of people that mark the article for deletion. This issue is related to WP:UNDUE. A few units - a rough estimate of few % of total membership, at best - accepted German proposals of ceasefire with the coming of the Eastern Front (Soviets were quite anti-AK and there were constant clashes with the Soviet partisans and troops and AK). I do not think that this issue of relevant to the lead, and as I showed in the section "lead", such accusations do not appear in any but the most detailed discussions of AK (hence they can be mentioned in the article, but not in the brief summary that lead is supposed to be).--_{Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk} 07:07, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

Soman, the spelling Govinda is correct in this name according to election commission of Nepal. I just have the hard copy and dont know whether they have this document online. Actually, it is wa or व as used in Sanskrit. In Hindi and other Hindustani languages, it has transformed to be more "ba" or ब form for this particular case. In Nepali or Nepal Bhasa, it is used as व or ब and pronounciation as any is correct. However, in writing form, traditionally, va has been adapted with bha reserved for भ. I dont know the precise rule governing this transliteration but there are several forms used in several parts without a central rigid rule. So, the norm of a particular place is the way things are spelt at that region. Other examples are Vikram/Bikram/Wikram, Bijaya/Vijaya/Wijaya and so on. Thanks for the update! BTW, have we found out yet whether the seats will be nominated by the present or the new government? As I recall, we first found some sources which stated "the present one", but all the ones I've read since then stated that the new government would appoint the seats...

Two other questions: Is there a fixed date for the first CA session yet? And is there a fixed procedure for adopting the new constitution? I only know that the term is limited to two years or so, and that new regular elections under the new constitution will have to be held in 2010, but what's the procedure for adopting the constitution in the CA? —Nightstallion 13:42, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
