Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Knights of Columbus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Roger Baldwin (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Harvard Extension School December 2014 Vandalism

[edit]

I've been engaged in an edit war with user: Steeltrap over the article's header. He/She pulled a manipulative move by reverting back to his changes then requesting a page lock. Are you an administrator for that page? If not, who is? Do you know how I might become one? Like you, I have spent several years asa caretaker on that page. Finelinebilly (talk) 18:14, 12 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. I need your help again. The recent trolls on the HES page are dredging up the Abe Liu scandal from three years ago. I've reverted the changes twice, but they are reverting them. Finelinebilly (talk) 19:24, 23 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Good job on KofC article!

[edit]

Hello, Brian. Good job on the Knights of Columbus article! When you get a minute, can you look at ref name "Keane"? When I was looking at the refs yesterday, that one stuck out. I think you'll see why when you look at it. I also noticed that three other refs are missing page numbers: #10, #69 and #102. I tried to find them online but GoogleBooks didn't show me enough of the book (I didn't see Bauernschub 1965 at all). Thanks, Bro. --108.45.72.196 (talk) 20:55, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

ES

[edit]

Hi Briancua,

The problem is that it's both factually inaccurate, and even the little bit that is accurate is outdated; Harvard College doesn't have a core curriculum any more. Furthermore, you can't "base" it on the core curriculum simply because it's only 8 courses (out of a total of 32). Both schools might have similar "core" requirements, but the phrasing as it is right now is misleading.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with the situation, but I'll let anon know that as well.

Cheers, Λuα (Operibus anteire) 17:34, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know about a Bachelor of Liberal Arts (ALB) in Extension Studies being equivalent to a degree from the College, which is why I won't pass judgment on the topic. All that I am concerned about is:
  • Anon is adding info from promotional material- clearly failing WP:RS;
  • Wording is misleading. Generally, you'd be right that we are splitting hairs, but given ES's history, it's a good idea to distinguish the two rather than try to blur the line.

bios

[edit]

Please never start a bio article, even on a deceased person, without giving at least one reference. It's not good practice and makes work for us overburdened admins, because we have to check back to see that information and references do get added. If I see the reference and preferable the birth and death dates, I can immediately mark the article as reviewed, and not have it add to the very long backlog of unreviewed new articles. The article Bay State Conference has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

High school sports leagues are rarely notable and this does not seem to be an exception. Subject matter fails WP:GNG and any other notability measure I can find. References appear to be local in nature and/or not third party and have no measure to establish notability.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Categories must be supported by article prose and WP:RS

[edit]

Hello, I noticed that you added a category to a number of articles recently such as this one at Pope John Paul II]. I just wanted to let you know that it is not permitted to simply add a category without any support in the article text. You must write about why the person is a member of that category and you should ideally cite a reliable source which supports it. At any rate, the assertion should be verifiable. I have been removing the Category:The Society in Dedham for Apprehending Horse Thieves category because it is not supported by those articles. I did also notice that a list of members is provided in the article, but there are no sources provided there either. A list of sources or a membership page would be most helpful at this point. Thank you. Elizium23 (talk) 06:04, 8 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Columbian Squires

[edit]

The Columbian Squires article is unsourced and unnotable, thus the redirect to the "category" article. Please join the discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Scouting#minor organizations. Spshu (talk) 14:50, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article is tagged for having no references for 2 years now, which doesn't make it qualify for an article. Spshu (talk) 15:07, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You do understand that just adding primary sources will not help the article's notability. Spshu (talk) 22:49, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Bill Adamaitis for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Bill Adamaitis is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

Cut and paste move

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give 2014 Extraordinary General Synod of Bishops a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you.
