Gelb Consulting
[edit]Speedy deletion nomination of Gelb Consulting Group
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
A tag has been placed on Gelb Consulting Group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add hangon
on the top of Gelb Consulting Group and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

The pain of the inscrutably removed ˤayn
[edit]Is there some reason you took out the ˤayns in Šāfiˤī and replaced them with glottal stops (alifs)? Seems silly to have it spelled wrong, especially when the ˤayns are so readily available. em zilch 22:39, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
Please add categories!
[edit]Hi! I see you are creating a lot of stubs on towns in Chechnya. That's good, but will you please add at least two categories to all these articles: and . It is of great importance. Thank you. --Anthony Ivanoff 19:06, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Masjid_Shajarah.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Masjid_Shajarah.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: TemplateName
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have questions about copyright tagging of images, post on Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags or User talk:Carnildo/images. 05:09, 27 February 2006 (UTC)
Arabic
[edit]Hello,
My name is Chris Brennan. I'm in the process of trying to learn Arabic right now and I'm looking for someone that can maybe give me some advice based on their own experience in learning the language. Right now the only book that I have is Awde & Samano's The Arabic Alphabet, and I'm currently looking around for a decent textbook that I can use for self study, but I seem to be getting mixed reviews for almost every book that I'm looking at and I'm not sure what would be the best choice for what I would like to do. My original intent was to learn Classical Arabic, but I'm starting to realize that resources on learning Classical Arabic are much more scarce and it would make the process much more difficult to start there. So then I was thinking that perhaps I could start with Modern Standard Arabic and then once I had a decent grasp of that it wouldn't be such a big leap to get to Classical Arabic. I'm unsure as to how divergent MSA is from Classical Arabic though, so I'm not sure if that is a viable route to go, and I'm still not sure which text book to go with. Do you have any advice? I would really appreciate it. --Chris Brennan 08:16, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Hamid Algar, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to be a direct copy from http://www.alumni.berkeley.edu/Alumni/Cal_Monthly/June_2003/QA-_A_conversation_with_Hamid_Algar.asp. As a copyright violation, Hamid Algar appears to qualify for speedy deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Hamid Algar has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message. If the source is a credible one, please consider rewriting the content and citing the source.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GFDL, you can comment to that effect on Talk:Hamid Algar. If the article has already been deleted, but you have a proper release, you can reenter the content at Hamid Algar, after describing the release on the talk page. However, you may want to consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you, and please feel free to continue contributing to Wikipedia.
Hello, when you want to link to the article about something Bosnian, please do not link to Bosnian, as that is a disambiguation page (which nothing should be linked to). Instead link to the one of the options found on that page such as Bosnia (region) or Bosnia and Herzegovina by writing out Bosnian. Anthony Joseph Zerilli
[edit]A prod template has been added to the article Anthony Joseph Zerilli, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with db-author. J Readings 05:45, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Saddeka Arebi
[edit]I see you added Saddeka Arebi to the List of University of California, Berkeley faculty. This is list is for notable faculty, is Prof. Arebi notable? Perhaps she should be added to the Category:University_of_California,_Berkeley_faculty instead? I question the notability of Prof. Arebi, usually to be notable a person needs to have some sort of published biography or at least a biographical article. The reference "New Voices for Women in the Middle East, Ragai N. Makar University of Utah" mentions Prof. Arebi, but is not biographical. Cxbrx 03:02, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Sirte logo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sirte logo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Fair use disputed for Image:CERTVLOGO.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:CERTVLOGO.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:46, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Turner logo.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Turner logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Image source problem with Image:AlexRudaj.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:AlexRudaj.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:57, 22 April 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 00:57, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Dominicans Don't Play
[edit]A tag has been placed on Dominicans Don't Play requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Seba5618 (talk) 03:51, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Spam in Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc.
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc., by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc., please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Speedy deletion of Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc.
[edit]A tag has been placed on Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon

Speedy deletion nomination of Administradora de Fondos de Pensiones-Provida
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
A tag has been placed on Administradora de Fondos de Pensiones-Provida requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Ollie Garkey (talk) 00:29, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Sir192! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 7 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. if you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 7 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the list:

[edit]Greetings. I would like to let you know that the section you created "Slave Revolt of 1522" in the article Islam in the Dominican Republic appears to violate Wikipedia's guidelines for copyright infringement:
The section is nearly identical to the content from the published book Black Crescent: The Experience and Legacy of African Muslims in the Americas. The section will need to be re-worded or removed in order to meet Wikipedia guidelines. Thank you. Djrun (talk) 16:30, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
Sources on Amir ibn Abd al-Qays
[edit]Hi Sir 192,
The article on Amir ibn Abd al-Qays, which I realise you basically wrote, has been the most informative source of info on this early Muslim ascetic that I've been able to track down.
And I've been trying to follow the references, but I can't. I can't work out, for example, which of Abu Nucaym's books "11 87-95" refers to; or which Safadi is being cited. If there was more info, that'd be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,

Speedy deletion nomination of International Association of Islamic Banks
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on International Association of Islamic Banks requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://islamicbanking.asia/about-us/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
