Awards format
[edit]Hey there buddy!! I noticed that you were also interested in adding nominations to other award ceremonies apart from Filmfare. For that reason, I decided to format the Apsara Awards like that too. However, do you actually know a site that has all the previous nominations from the previous years? Filmfare is done. Apsara and Star Screen is still going on. IIFA, Zee Cine and Stardust are left. -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 04:04, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Hi. Can you put this on your watchlist. I think the 33 political point thing is too tedious reading to be suitable. Maybe it could be broken down into proper prose I don't know, but the ip keeps reverting it. But its extremely difficult to read in the ip version plus it is against MOS to have a filmography in the centre of the article. I disagree with the point section, we do not need to know every single policy of his ever do we?♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:37, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
Hi there. Can you please show me where in the official website the list of all past nominations is (especially those since 2005)? I must be missing the obvious link. --Muhandes (talk) 12:05, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

filmfare
[edit]Yeah, that looks good. Question: why does the documentary one not have 'critics' in the title? Is it really a critics award? Also, do you have any desire to contribute an opinion to the ongoing struggle with box office #s for Enthiran? I placed a question to various projects and to Talk:Enthiran itself asking for other opinions. Someone "new" came along and changed the figures and the article got locked with their edits in place. filmfare Debut Awards
[edit]Please use the Box itself, because it is more arranged and perfect. The already added years are wrong as well. The years which I updated is right. For exapmple, QSQT was released in 1988, so award was given for 1988 only, not for 1989. Similarly Maine pyar kiya was released in 1989, so award was given for 1989 only, not for 1990. Moreover, Salman Khan was never given Best Debut award in 1989, instead it was given to sooraj Barjatya. Filmfare said that, Salman has already acted in Beevi ho To aisi, so "debut" award cannot be given, but they intentionally forgot that, Aamir Khan, winner for 1988 has already acted in Holi before QSQT. Anyhow Filmfare understood their mistake and awarded salman the trophy after 10 years. Rajeshbieee (talk) 17:20, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- Modelling, acting, business (IPL), television and now production - Zinta has done it all. We need to update her article pronto... -- Bollywood Dreamz talk 19:45, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Yes, Dil Se will be tough though.. Wow have a look at some of the images of West Chinnock and see it on google street view. Its such a gorgeous part of the country, I adore rural Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and Dorset. Its like stepping into a Famous Five novel!♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:25, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
Enthiran
[edit]Enthiran page is being owned by hard-core Rajinikanth fans User:Vensatry, User:Bollyjeff and User:Eelamstylez77. They have a conflict of interest in keeping this article neutral. They claim Enthiran is the highest grosser in India (not Sholay and 3 Idiots).
The neutral version is this. Taran Adarash even gives break up. Please help protect wikipedia from such vandalising criminals. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kollyfan (talk • contribs) 16:15, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
Debut
[edit]Rajeshbieee (talk) 07:02, 21 June 2011 (UTC) Yaar, the years which I updated was correct only. See Ranveer Singh has been given award for 2010 release only and not for 2011 ( which is still running). It is true that, all awards would be presented after the completion of specified year. That does not mean that, it was awarded for the current year. See QSQT was released in 1988, Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989, Similarly Phool aur Kaante was released in 1991. So the awards also counts for years 1988, 1989 and 1991 respectively. It is not counted as 1989, 1990 and 1992. So please make corrections and note that, it was for "SOORAJ BARJTYA", the sensational debut was awarded and not for Salman. FILMFARE then rectified the mistake by presenting Sallu the award after a decade. So as per list 1989 has 2 Sensational Debut; Sallu and Sooraj.
- Ranveer got the award in February 2011. Shahid • Talk2me 07:42, 21 June 2011 (UTC)

Hi. I just wanted to say that I hope that the experience there wasn't too distressing. It's unfortunate, but some people do question "good faith" when you tag copyright problems. They are understandably upset about losing content they care about, and they "shoot the messenger" as the saying goes. I've been encountering this in all my years of copyright work on Wikipedia, but I just try to remind myself that I am right and focus on the issues, ignoring the anger on their part. It usually settles down with time.
What's important, though, is that you did a good service for the project. You found a legitimate problem, and it has been cleaned up because you pursued it. Wikipedia and our reusers are the better for it. Thank you.
And I am crossing my fingers hard with the hope that we can get CC-By-SA permission for the other list. If you need help talking to these people, please let me know at my talk page. We can push the e-mails into the Wikimedia Foundation's OTRS system. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:28, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Can you please take a look at this article, that I would like to get to GA ranking? I am getting a couple of opinions instead of doing a formal peer review (at this point). I already got the opinion of Mike Lynch, who said its about ready, and Dr. Blofeld, who thinks its not ready, but he said that you may have a differing opinion. Here are the questions I asked him, and the answers I received. I made a few changes since then. I think it is sufficient for GA quality, just not as complete as needed for FA, or as complete as it could be if lesser quality sources were allowed. What do you think? Hey Shahid I noticed you commented at the singer CFD. I think its time we split actors into actors and actresses, what do you think? E.g Category:Hindi film actresses?? E.g Helen Mirren categorized as Category:English film actresses just seems right don't you think? I'm considering addressing it to the project based on the tlak at the CFD. Re: Another link (National Film Awards)
[edit]I have seen this link and I have already started working on it. I started with 1st National Film Award and reached till 30th. Its a HUGE task !! Still need to go till 51st National Film Award because after that we have pages associated for each year. I would really appreciate if you can help me out on completing the remaining one. Let me know how we can do that. Thanks. Vivvt (talk) 18:33, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
- If you check 22nd NFA, even lead actors were given a medallion for acting in any award winning film. This is then discontinued and was only given for that year. Most of the regional awards mentioned in Wiki as of now are wrong. This needs to be cleaned out. Thanks. Vivvt (talk) 19:00, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
- ...and, Amitabh Bachhan never won any award for best newcomer. I donno who discovered that award. There was no award like that ever created. More surprizingly, he himself says he got it !! I wonder who gave him that award. :O Thanks. Vivvt (talk) 19:16, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
- Check this. 17th NFA. It does not mention anything about this award. Thanks. Vivvt (talk) 19:25, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
- and its not about doubting him. I just dont believe it. :) Same thing happened about NFA for Best Male Playback singer where Gulzar had mentioned in his interview in Filmfare that Lata and Bhupinder both got the NFA for "Beeti Naa Bitaayi" Raina from Parichay and he even recited the incident of song recording, of which I gave a reference in the wiki page for NFA Male singer. Now the archive says Bhupindar never won any award !! Its not that Gulzar is lying. He probably does not remember well who won the award as he was the director of the movie. Thanks. Vivvt (talk) 19:30, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
- Couple of them are not there or corrupt. I had reported this to DFF. I hope they will take care of it soon. Thanks. Vivvt (talk) 19:47, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
- I could not find it by myself. I read the complete document. Please check if I have missed it. But I still dont think there is any award like that. Thanks. Vivvt (talk) 19:53, 19 July 2011 (UTC)
- URL manipulation ;) Vivvt (talk) 20:00, 19 July 2011 (UTC)

Aamir Khan Children
[edit]Hey shahid,
Regarding this reference, Khan stated that despite the fact that his children come from an interfaith marriage, they will only follow Islam.[1]. I was going to look for a better one, but the article cites the interviewer and everything. Do we really need a better reference? There's plenty of claims referenced by articles like this one. Elgin222 (talk) 17:20, 27 July 2011 (UTC)
Is this better or acceptable? : Khan stated that despite the fact that his children come from an interfaith marriage, they will only follow Islam.[2][3][4]
If not, I'll leave the issue alone until a better source comes along then. Elgin222 (talk) 19:54, 28 July 2011 (UTC)

Some GARs that I nominated
[edit]Could you have a look at these? Hardly anyone commented and one guy thinks everything is fine and many editors are making up criteria that do not need to be there. If you look at the GA criteria strictly speaking, he is right. However, in my opinion, these three articles do not measure up to the other Indian cinema GAs at all. I also need to know why the sources are not good.

Filmfare Awards and missing facts in WP
[edit]With respect to Filmfare awards, currently WP lacks couple of less known facts about winners refusing or sharing their awards. I have updated a fact about Reena Roy refusing award for Apanapan. Hey. Need a break from wikipedia at the moment, fed up with a whole number of things on here.♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:07, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
Hi. Yes I will read this shortly, after I've done another GA review. Did you see the big improvement to Ponnar Shankar (film) which I had down as a failure until the last day before the formal review?♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:00, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
Sorry to hear about Shammi. I actually consider GA to be arguably the most important process on wikipedia if its done properly. It a] Gives an editor an incentive to work towards something and better their article b] It provides a formal checklist in which articles can be measured against and assessed which is how every encyclopedia entry should be; one which has been checked and evaluated. c] The GAR itself often leads to major improvements in an articles and gives the editor feed back on how to get it over the mark, advice on a possible FA in the future, and indeed how they can go about developing other articles in the same fashion and learn "the formula". d] I know just what is needed for it to be of GA quality (unlike some of the reviewers we have passing Indian films with shoddy sources and quality). However much work I do on stub building, my real goal on wikipedia is to get most of our articles improved, sourced and at GA. The biggest thing for my on wikipedia is you browse articles generally which are mostly neglected and in desperate need of work and whch have actually been checked. The biggest thing as a reader of wikipedia you want is for every article you visit to have been written properly and which has actually been checked. The GA marker at least indicates it has been checked.. Unfortunately though we lack content contributors routing out notable topics fairly around the world which is why I devote most of my editing time to that. Its a balance between quality and quantity. If you read my User:Dr. Blofeld/Stub philosophy you'll see what I mean. P.S User:Palltrast wonders why I've accused him of being a sock puppet when he's been here barely 4 weeks and knows every rule in the book and brandished tags and policies most of us had forgotten about!! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:47, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
I would remove the bold text section if I was you.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:07, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
Oh I thought you only wanted advice on that emboldened lol. I'll reread this shortly, I'm just wrapping up the X Files nominations.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:24, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
The purpose? So anybody curious at my intentions can actually see what my ultimate goal is on here. To look beyond stubs and that I most certainly care about overall quality and site improvement. And gives me a chance to view my feelings about the negligence towards what matters most on here. If the foundation are serious about wanting quality improved, they should be doing far more to promote methods to achieve this. At least they are now doing something in regards to certain schools and museums collaborations, something I suggested back in 2006 or 2007 and was ignored. Of course its just a website and at times any one of us can take it all a little too seriously, but anybody would be lying if they told you they wouldn't want to find an article on any topic and to read a decent reviewed article. The overall quality is so bad that something massive scale is needed if it is to be overcome.♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:36, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
Mostly OK, but "magical realism" and "she creates an alternative reality in order to survive" I don't follow what you mean.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:30, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

Hehe yeah mine is strangely almost entirely correct too.. Taurus the bull if you provoke the bull he will pounce if you leave him to peacefully graze he is mild tempered.. I would just say "In this realist film, Preity Zinta plays the leading role of Chand, a young Indian Punjabi woman who finds herself in an abusive arranged marriage with an Indo-Canadian man, played by theatre actor Vansh Bhardwa. Zinta had long expressed a desire to work under Mehta."♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:27, 15 August 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hey buddy, sorry for the late response. You have brought up some valid points and I do agree with most of them. To begin with, celebrities' appearances on KWK (and other chat shows), as well as donating your winnings from game shows can easily be removed; I have no problem with that. However, as for the "walking the ramp" part, I am on the fence about that. IMO, it doesn't really hurt having it. Think about it, an actor is mainly known for their work in films; outside of that if they do decide to walk the ramp, it is something slightly outside of their work-related field, and hence it does kinda deserve a mention. Mmm Jack Nicholson or Anthony Hopkins I think, Greatest Living Actress? Mmm Meryl Streep or Judi Dench? ♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:10, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
Yeah Brando as well has to be rated as possibly the Greatest Movie Star. Obviously my favourite actor is Clint Eastwood but he's way off being the best of course. I still think Humphrey Bogart is the best overall though. His expressions are priceless. Actually the most sexually attractive actress I've ever seen is neither a Latin temptress nor a brunette. Veronica Carlson. Pause at 1:39 here. Unless you really see her on screen you can't get the full force of just how mesmerizing she is. I could gaze into her azure blue eyes forever!! National Film Award for Best Actor
[edit]Hi, I see you reverted my edit with a weird reason "The awards are originally presented in English like probably every other award in India". I wrote its Hindi name because this is a language used [beside English] on the award ceremony, award has its Hindi name, official name is also in Hindi (Rajat Kamal), Directorate of Film Festivals publishes its brochures in both languages, etc. So, there is no reason that it shouldn't be written in Hindi. — Bill william comptonTalk 13:29, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

- answering to User:Shshshsh for query left on my talkpage,
- Firstly do not consider it as an edit war.
- Secondly the statement in the section Dialogues and Lyrics
- Dialogues are usually written in an unadorned Hindi that would be understood by the largest possible audience.
actually what is this unadorned Hindi?? this is not an encyclopedic tone, confusing the researchers or readers.
- thus unadorned Hindi is specified as either Hindi-Urdu, Hindustani or sometime Hinglish, and this need to be written in specific manner. As this is an encyclopedia, We cannot leave the statement confusing. thus for this purpose I had specified it as Hindi-Urdu obtained from source which is already present there.
- Thirdly I don't think what i did was wrong or against WP police. Infact you had avoided the policy to discuss on the talkpage before reverting my first edit in this statement.
lets make it a better and proud article, regards--Omer123hussain (talk) 18:31, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Oh yeah. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:42, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
LOL why did you remove your post?♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:57, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
Ouch. Born in the same hospital as me!♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:04, 24 August 2011 (UTC)
Appointment with Fear (film). See the film on youtube if you have time. Ah 80s B horror movies..♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:31, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
No, I'm not trying to show off the crappy article I started, I thought the plot might intrigue you to watch it, that's all.♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:49, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
I have to say though the actor who most impresses me in terms of believability in the roles he plays is Dominic West. Amazing actor. So amazing in fact that his recent portrayal of Fred West the people who used to know West couldn't look at him and talk to him on set because it took them back 17 years and said it was literally like Fred West in their presence.♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:28, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
Not a fan of him I guess. Zinta article looks good BTW. Ciao!♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:43, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
Yeah you probably aren't familiar with him. Great actor.♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:01, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
Jennifer Connelly FA nomination.
[edit]I replied to your concerns and assessed your concerns on the nom. page.--Gunt50 (talk) 20:53, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
- I've working again on your concerns. It'd be great if you could check especially the punctuation mark things since nor me or the other user working on the article are exactly grammar geniuses.--Gunt50 (talk) 02:05, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
Mala Sinha
[edit]Dude Mala Sinha is not a Bengali but Nepali. But she is part of Bengal Cinema as well. So her name is to appear in Actress from Bengali Cinema, Hindi Cinema and Nepali Cinema. She has acted in these three languages. Also you have been again and again removing her landmark films from the intro for no reason, afterall its matter of mentioning 4 more landmark films.Joshejawani (talk) 03:15, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
Aamir khan personal life
[edit]Dude shahid, why are you supporting removing such a essential and referenced material on Aamir khan's personal life. What's wrong with this?: Khan is a Muslim as well as a follower of spiritual leader J P Vaswani.[5] This information is on most actor personal life sections. Thanks. Demetriusss (talk) 00:47, 28 August 2011 (UTC)
PZNZ
[edit]I disagree. She is notable, but notability is not transferable. she may own a cat, but that wouldn't merit a wikipedia subject. There is no notability asserted. It was founded this year, and has made no films yet. It also did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts or show that it meets the notability guidelines. IMDB is not an RS source because it can be self-edited. As it stands, it looks as if the article was created to promote the company, although I'm sure that was not the case. Since the company may become notable in the future, I've recreated as a redirect to Zinta's article; all the content is there anyway Jimfbleak - talk to me? 18:11, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- incidentally, her article is excellent Jimfbleak - talk to me? 18:15, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut
[edit]Hi, I have updated the Male debut page with reference link. It is 100% true. Please do not revert it as " from 1989". It is wrong. I would send you the filmfare page for your reference, if you wish. Please send me a hai mail to "rajes434@gmail.com" for the same. Regards.. Rajeshbieee (talk) 12:21, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
Male Debut
[edit]Man...I appreciate your contributions, but it is too disappointing to note that, you are still making wrong updations in this category. I have the filmfares with me. moreover a film released in 1988 wont be talked as " 1989 film". Naturally all awards "in this world" would be presented only after the running year gets completed. You might be confused about the years, as 1988 and 1989 nominations were mingled by filmfare and award was given for 1989. See.. 2011 is still running and how come Ranveer Singh is credited for 2011 Debut? Ajay Devgan won for Phool aur Kaante which was 1991 release, then how come " Not awarded " for 1991. Bobby won for Barsaat, which was 95 release, so how come " Not awarded " for 1995. Man..Please understand and make necessary changes. ( websites always do not give 100% accuracy ) Rajeshbieee (talk) 12:58, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
Sridevi.....
[edit]Why are you deleting factual statements? The fact that Sri and Jayaprada were arch rivals and acted together in over a dozen films is well know. Refer to Jayaprada Wiki + list of their films. Also, Sri has done a nose job early in her career. Just google nose job and Sri...there will be several articles. Also look at her pics early in her career and then later on in hindi. If you keep deleting, I will have to report your actions. Do not block facts from reporting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rob dayton (talk • contribs) 13:54, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
Voice
[edit]What do you think of her voice. Its so pure, love it. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:39, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
She studied at Berklee College of Music which is the world's most prestigious jazz university. Julliard I think is the most overall. Eric Marienthal and Al di Meola studied there. Have you heard Marienthal? He achieved the highest proficiency rating at Berklee which is testament to how amazing he is. I'll find you a clip. Here. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:10, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
Hot? Bit of a slapper, I mean she was at the centre of the Ryan Giggs controversy but I'd find it hard to say no too! The four hottest Welsh chicks are Catherine Zeta Jones, Danielle Lineker, Imogen Thomas and Katherine Jenkins. Chicks would probably think Steve Jones (presenter), Gethin Jones, Gavin Henson, Tom Jones and myself were the hottest blokes LOL. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:00, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
LOL. My nearest lookalikes I think are him and him. My sister agrees on both. Sort of a cross between those two, very similar hair and features as Eastwood's son although my hair is more slicked back and my eyes are bluer like the first one! I personally would vote Danielle Lineker as the hottest (famous) woman in Wales, followed by Zeta Jones I think. Funny thinkg is, Lineker and Imogen both look like Zeta Jones look alikes!! And the hottest woman in India? Mmm I think Bipasha is close!! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:43, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Why does it need a rewrite?♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:03, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
OK. Would be good to see you though write a few GAs on some of her films of course..♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:30, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
LOL I am actually wearing the very same military shirt as this today too!♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:31, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Yeah I love western type clothes, I love those western type shirts, denim and check, muscle fit t shirts black, grey or white, faded ripped blue jeans, tan leather/suede jackets and suede/brown cowboy boots/trucker boots! Anything which looks like it could have been worn in an old western! I see a lot of the Bollywood stars where similar things. Who would you say is the style icon of Bollywood cinema? From what I've seen Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Abhishek Bachchan usually wear pretty cool clothes.♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:57, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
I'd forgotten about him. Is he half English or something? He really doesn't look like a full blooded Indian. Lucky guy having Bipasha! Also Akshay Kumar seems very stylish. Has Salman khan got something wrong with him like Diabetes or something? He always looks washed out, pale and drawn under the eyes in interviews. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:05, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
- Last bit of a Bollywood film I saw was the hot "towel" pool scene in some film.. Has Zinta lost interest in films or something LOL, she seems to be into businesss and now TV more..♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:15, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
It was restored to User:Shshshsh/PZNZ Media. Maybe it was a little early to start I dunno but a google search shows you could probably make it a start class if you wanted.♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:25, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Sounds fine.♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:05, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
What was the film again?♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:28, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
