Hi, and welcome. Please see my comment at sunbird, but thanks for the interest anyway. If you want to sign your comments, you can do so by typing three tildes ~~~. A fourth tilde adds the date and time. Thanks, jimfbleak 06:43, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Interesting that you found my sunbird/hummingbird comment USA-centric, since I'm a Brit who regularly lambasts the Americans for that fault! jimfbleak 08:22, 17 Nov 2004 (UTC)
Well, I took it as assuming everyone will know what a Hummingbird was, and that the Sunbird was the European version of this, which (in my view) make the article look like it was aimed at 'mericans only (rather than anyone who speaks English, which I think is the only bais that is meant to be inherent in wiki.riteme.site). Some interesting points have been raised about the use of the word 'American' (think it was on List of Americans) which points out (amongst other things) that Spanish use of the term America refers to both North and South America (and presumably the people who live in both continents), while in many (won't say all) English-speaking countries the term is practically analogous to those from the USA (much to the chagrin of Canadians, Mexicans, et al). Perhaps a case of those who shout loudest getting there way? - Sheridan

To elaborate "it's" expands to "it is" which makes your sentence complete gibberish, that is "and used in the same way as it's source words." means "and used in the same way as it is source words." -- Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 03:15, 2004 Dec 13 (UTC)
Oops, Bob doesn't actually cover "its" and "it's". "its" is always the possessive and "it's" is always a contraction of "it is". silsor 03:19, Dec 13, 2004 (UTC)
I didn't say that "it's" was a contraction though, I said it was a possessive, as is backed up by Bob sheridan 03:44, 2004 Dec 13 (UTC)
"It's" isn't a possessive. "Its" is a possessive. Fnord. -- Cyrius| 23:23, 13 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I've been working on the Gormenghast article, and related articles. I saw your name on that article's talk page, in the edit history, and you mention here its your favourite book (good taste!). Maybe you'd like to have a look and improve my work? Uberisaac 10:56, July 12, 2005 (UTC)

Just a minor comment re: an edit you did in April which I only just noticed today. "Flubbed" isn't actually a typo for "fluffed" — it's just a usage difference between Canadian and British English. "Flubbed" is actually more normative on this side of the Atlantic, so this would have to fall under Wikipedia's policy of permitting the usage that prevails in the country most directly pertaining to the article. Orphaned non-free media (Image:PlanChaos.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PlanChaos.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 19:04, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of PRB

[edit]

A tag has been placed on PRB, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD A1.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Brianlucas 00:46, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:25, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
