I'll take a look at it soon. I'll probably be busy tomorrow and Saturday, but hopefully I'll have some comments by Sunday. Zagalejo^^^ 04:18, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:WikiProject Nintendo articles, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:WikiProject Nintendo articles has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:WikiProject Nintendo articles, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 06:11, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Scorpion0422! The lead of the List of monarchs of the Muhammad Ali Dynasty has been significantly expanded as you requested. Your comments are welcome on the article's FLC page. Regards. BomBom (talk) 12:57, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Scorpion, forgive the intrusion, but I saw Gimmebot's run today and wondered if there was a reason that you or Matthew didn't promote/archive yesterday (insufficient need, forgetfulness, a different date for FLs, etc.). If you have already discussed this with Gimmetrow, then please forgive my bothering you. Thanks, Dabomb87 (talk) 05:15, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Neither of us were available or online until after 00:00 UTC. I've done some promoting, but it might be a few days before the bot runs again. Just leave the talkpage as is so as to not stall the bot, though you may add {{FLC}} to the actual page if you wish. Regards, Matthewedwards (talk contribs  email) 06:57, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's fine, I was just wondering. Dabomb87 (talk) 14:01, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Medalists

[edit]

Hi Scorpion! Many thanks for your message. I am very happy that you are interested to bring up this list to featured status! So I try to do my best to support you. As you see there is not very much feedback from the WP:Olympics... (I have also added same questions there with no reply) For a long time it looks like that this project defacto do not exist... And yes, I think I can help you, please see this link [1] I think this is want you need? Feel free to ask me if you need anything else. Kind regards and :) Doma-w (talk) 22:37, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, I wanted to ask you the same. :) If you want we can try to bring up some more lists to featured status. My problem is still, that my English is not good enough. But I can help with statistics. Kind regards Doma-w (talk) 22:53, 5 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

World Tag Team Championship

[edit]

Hey, WWE says that it's ECW gold, so why do you keep removing it. Kalajan 19:34, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well it can be defended on Raw and SM but it's actually ECW, remember the talent exchange? Well the title belongs to Morrison and Mizanin, and they're on Ecw, so... It's logical. Kalajan 20:38, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Harriet Nahanee's death and re Skwxwu7mesh/Squamish

[edit]

I suggest you read the article on her, although the death-attribution there remains unsourced; but it was current in BC media for a long time and remains an issue for native rights activists and also for anti-Olympics groups; I'll see if there's anything in The Tyee about it (The Tyee is an independent online magazine on BC current affairs. As for the Skwxwu7mesh/Squamish link the mention of the Squamish was already there, it's just the Squamish link goes to the District of Squamish, not the people....and actually "Coast Salish" isn't quite right either, because the Lil'wat are Interior Salish...it may have been easier to make the "West Coast" reference into Indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast or to use Northwest Coast art as the pipe/target, though there's also Coast Salish art, but no Interior Salish art or Salish art....Skookum1 (talk) 16:39, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In fact, I'll simplify it for you, though it was easy enough to search "Nahanee" at The Tyee - here is one article and here is another which should satisfy the citation for both articles...here is the "Nahanee" search at The Tyee]. I submit it's a valid addition to the Olympics article, and either or both of those can be used for the citation request at Harriet Nahanee. Me, I've got to have my shower and get ready to go out....Skookum1 (talk) 16:43, 7 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Well, as I said, parts of the analysis section need further paraphrasing. There are long phrases taken right from the source, without quotes.

Lists

[edit]

Hi Scorpion! Maybe you have not seen, that I have answered your question on my talk page? But no problem, here is now the answer:

For freestyle skiing: Youngest medalist Yelizaveta Kozhevnikova (18 years and 48 days - Silver 1992 Moguls) and oldest medalist Tatjana Mittermayer (33 years and 197 days - Silver 1998 Moguls). Interesting that both won the same medal in the same event...

For short track speed skating: Youngest medalist Kim Yoon-Mi (13 years and 85 days - Gold 1994 women's 3000 metres relay) and oldest medalist Cathy Turner (31 years, 323 days - Bronze 1994 women's 3000 metres relay). Interesting that both won their medals in the same event in the same year... And also the second oldest medalist Sylvie Daigle (31 years, 88 days) won her medal (silver) in this event...

Please have also a look here [2]. What do you think about the idea to add a column "Notes"? Kind regards Doma-w (talk) 23:50, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I don't want to get into an edit war, but I think it's really silly for the episode title reference to be stated twice just so it lines up with WP:LEAD. If it's going to be cited in the "Production" section (which I still think makes no sense), it shouldn't be in the lead. JuJube (talk) 22:30, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Amendment To Be.png)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Amendment To Be.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Wikicup and FLC

[edit]

There seems to be a flurry of over vote-stacking and such because of the Wikicup. Just so you know, here is the discussion. There was a related question at WT:FLC also. Dabomb87 (talk) 05:10, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think that the !votes to watch for are those that are not accompanied by any actionable comments, such as
Support This article is the best or
Oppose Doesn't look good.
Also, as you said, the situation is different because you and Matthew are both in the Cup. Hopefully, nothing much will come out of this, although there will probably be a spike in FLCs, as we saw with the FLC contest. Dabomb87 (talk) 22:28, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Capitals

[edit]

Lots of websites use capitals in a way that we don't. For example, many universities will write "there are two main campuses to the University." Simply becasue this is how they write, and is a reasonable style, it doesn't follow that we need to deviate from out house style. Rich Farmbrough, 18:17 31 January 2009 (UTC).

Can one editor nominate two lists around the same time

I have a question about the nominations for list at freatured list. At Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Seinfeld (season 2) somone pointed out that same editor might not place two lists at FLC. Is that corerect? --Gman124 talk 19:31, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Scorpion. I was wondering if you saw the question I posted on the talk page for the Simpsons episode "Lisa the Drama Queen" and, if so, what you thought about it. Sideshow Bob

[edit]

Hey there. I notice the FAC for Sideshow Bob is facing some objections because of prose quality. I'm a big Simpsons fan, and I'd be happy to look at the writing if the current revisions don't work out. (I looked at some of the copyedit being done and some of it seems sketchy.) I can't promise I'll have time before the FAC runs out, but let me know and I'll see what I can do. Good luck! Scartol • Tok 20:31, 2 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

For example: Risker made this edit which I feel makes the prose more awkward in spots ("Arrangements were made to have some of the Frasier producers review the original script"), and doesn't revise writing that needs work (I will change "It was written by Ken Keeler, who had been assigned to write an episode featuring Sideshow Bob." to: "When Ken Keeler was assigned to write a Sideshow Bob episode, he was inspired by episodes of Frasier...") Cheers to Risker for taking on the task, but I think the writing still needs a thorough review. I'll see what I can do today. Scartol • Tok 14:40, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
All done. Hope it helps! Scartol • Tok 19:28, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for the woodpecker award. I do indeed have several copyediting barnstars, but of course I never mind getting more. =) However — and I truly hope I don't seem ungrateful — I would really fancy one of those Simpsons barnstars. But the woodpecker box is also lovely. Whichever. Cheers! Scartol • Tok 01:49, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I'll be happy to help with Bart Nancy Cartwright. Gimme a week? Scartol • Tok 16:16, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here's the exact quote from Silverman: "It's a great gag (the laser removal of the tattoo) that Rich Moore did in the storyboard. Rich Moore did the board for this episode. He designed Flanders really, because he had a great drawing in the storyboard." So we know for sure that Moore did the design of Flanders, but not if he did it in the storyboard for "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire". TheLeftorium 19:34, 3 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The nominator of this article transferred the content to a new article, List of wind farms in Romania. In effect, he/she wants to transfer the FLC to the created article rather than just withdraw. I noticed that you reverted a user's edits in order to readd some images. [3] However, the user had done a huge clean up and major overhaul of that page, and you removed it all just to restore a minor part. That is called blind reverting, and it is an extremely bad habit to get into. I also suggest you catch up on wikipedia's fair use image policy. List

[edit]

Dear Scorpion0422, I faced some problems dealing with lists. I'm involved with the DYK process, but for the FL process, I think one needs a more collaborative approach. :-)

What should we do with Wikipedia:Featured list removal candidates/List of Nobel Peace Prize laureates? Should we close it? We have to fix some rationales on List of Nobel Peace Prize laureates, but we can fix them. Should we close the FLRC?

Have a nice day. AdjustShift (talk) 16:49, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Could you do me a massive favour. I have been working on tweaking the Premiere (The O.C.) to an FAC level. Your name sprung to mind and I was wondering if you could do this for me. I am willing to bribe (another of Dabomb's suggestions) and will offer my services to peer review any of your articles, review more FLCs or help you out wherever I can. I was just wondering as I am working on the SPOTY topic presently, and currently submitting the next list after the old one is promoted. I don't mind doing this as it keeps the review backlog down, but I happened to note that currently the Royal Society medals topic has 3 lists at FLC currently. Is that allowed? I think you're missing Golden Globe Award for Best Director – Motion Picture, or is it not on because of the FLRC that's happening? -- [[SRE.K.A.L.|L.A.K.ERS]] 05:25, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: List of Simpsons Episodes edits

[edit]

How come you keep undoing my edits? Is "snpp.com" not a good enough source? It mentions on said site "Treehouse of Horror XX" which, should be the Season 21 THOH episode. The Ultimate Koopa (talk) 16:52, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Female Nobel laurates

[edit]

Why did you revert the edits I made on that list? Those images were free, I took them for the pages about the respective winners. Aquila89 (talk) 21:33, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Because the author is unknown, the photos should not be used? Then they should be removed from the pages about the winners as well. Also, the images about Dorothy Crowfoot Hodgkin, Betty Williams and Toni Morrison have author information, and I see nothing wrong with their licensing. Thank you for your answers. Aquila89 (talk) 22:05, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Homer's Barbershop Quartet

[edit]

I just saw your comments at User_talk:Theleftorium#Homer.27s_Barbershop_Quartet. Do you have that info to add to the article? Gary King (talk) 22:00, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hm okay, I dropped a note to Left. Gary King (talk) 22:23, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Question

[edit]

Are you promoting/archiving today? I may be reviewing quite a few FLCs today, but if you aren't, I will let up. Dabomb87 (talk) 23:59, 17 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I need to revisit the older FLCs real quick. Hopefully, I can finish in time. Dabomb87 (talk) 00:06, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Real life has been busy, and the date arbitration case has sapped most of my Wiki time. I shouldn't be long, there is only a couple FLCs that are ready for pr/ar that I haven't revisited. Dabomb87 (talk) 00:10, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
When you read through, it looks like Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of awards received by Michael Jackson's nominators want to withdraw. Dabomb87 (talk) 00:20, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm done, but there are a lot of FLCs that need revisits from other reviewers. Dabomb87 (talk) 00:31, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Rufus Wainwright discography

[edit]

Hello there, and thank you for all of your work you do here on WP, especially with the FL nominations. I was disappointed to see that the Rufus Wainwright discography was denied promotion, even though I had 2 people supporting and 1 opposing only because the album table had 3 too many chart columns and he felt too many sources were used. In NO WAY am I offended or unwilling to make edits to the article, but I was hoping another reviewer would add another point of view on the sources issue. Perhaps I am writing to the wrong person, but I still do not know how the article can be improved, as far as sources go, because the issue was not settled. I guess I will just have to re-submit the article for FL status at a later date. Any advice or suggestions? -Another Believer (talk) 02:34, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the advice. -Another Believer (talk) 02:46, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Olympic Games Info Box

[edit]

Hey, good job on the info box for the Winter Games, I'll post a comment at the Olympic Project talk page as well. I'm wondering if you might have time to generate something similar for the Olympic Games article? User:Tone has suggested it, and I think it's a legit suggestion but I don't have any expertise in that area. I would certainly be indebted to you if you could help out. I don't think it has to include every year of every games but perhaps links to the summer olympics, winter olympics, ancient olympics, youth olympics, and paralympics pages, along with the IOC. I'm not sure what else would be appropriate there. Thanks for any help you could give. H1nkles (talk) 16:01, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That info box on my talk page is great. If you can add the Olympic flag at the top of the box that would be perfect! Thanks so much. H1nkles (talk) 17:48, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!!

The Template Barnstar
Because the thought of infoboxes and tables makes my eyes glaze over and you jumped right in to help with the Olympic Games info box, I hereby award you this Barnstar. Please continue the good work! H1nkles (talk) 18:12, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I know you really don't edit at ER, but can I get your input in this discussion to revamp the process of ER. Thanks.--TRUCO 19:53, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FL limit

[edit]

I have a question, would List of current champions in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling be an exception to the 10 limit rule?--WillC 20:53, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I was told to ask a director first. Just wanted to make sure. I asked both of you, so after I get a reply from Matthewedwards, I'll decide if I should take it or not.--WillC 21:00, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I just passed Treehouse of Horror VI, nice work! And sure, I'll review Nancy Cartwright; I actually read her book a few years back. As far as my own GANs, everything I've nominated currently has either been reviewed or is being reviewed, but I plan to bring a few nominations forward in the next month or two, so maybe I'll take you up on your offer to review one of mine later. Thanks! --Hunter Kahn (talk) 01:03, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Source fo Olympic hockey medalists

[edit]

Over at WT:HOCKEY I mentioned I would look for a book that had a source, and thought the IIHF had one. While that book didn't have anything already used, I just found a different book at my university library that has rosters for every Olympic hockey team from 1920 to 1994 (it was printed in 1997). If you want it added as a reference, just let me know and I'll add it. Kaiser matias (talk) 02:23, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll go ahead and add it then. And the Czech roster is listed as follows: Adolf Dusek, Karel Hartmann, Karel Kotrba, Josef Loos, Vilem Loos, Jan Palous, Jan Peka, Karel Psek-Kada, Josef Sroubek, Otakar Vindys, Karel Walzer. Kaiser matias (talk) 02:34, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Led Zeppelin

[edit]

However, Page's quoted defenses against plagarism are included- Why? Especially when they fall short of a full explanation, especially for contemporary, non-blues songs and singers. I think, objectively a "laundry list" would speak for itself. A list of simple original song titles and artists might sufice. I don't expect it to be acceptable to you, but as time goes by I think eventually a full long list will find its way into the article. I don't mind, I can wait. ;) Cuvtixo (talk) 04:00, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I beleive you really are trying to be evenhanded, I appreciate it. A much better place for musical comparisons was YouTube, but a number of videos that compared songs to various possible sources have been taken down because of music label lawyers complaining of copyright violation (That's irony for you!) Anyways, keep up the good work! Cuvtixo (talk) 04:08, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Boy-Scoutz n the Hood"

[edit]

Hey Scorpion! The episode "Boy-Scoutz n the Hood" (that I'm working on) is mentioned on page 164 in Nancy Cartwright's book (see here). Could you take a look if it's something worth mentioning in the article? :) TheLeftorium 18:10, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Awesome, thanks! TheLeftorium 18:17, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

my edits to Marge vs. the Monorail

[edit]

Thanks for telling me about the various rules that I have violated. I have now added more information to the "Cultural references" section in the article, and I hope that you agree with them! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Edp318 (talkcontribs) 00:09, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Could you please explain why you just overturned my edits?--Edp318 (talk) 00:22, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

With all due respect, Scorpion0422, I disagree with your decision to revert my edit. In my opinion, the edits I made are not a violation of policy. Therefore, I would like to bring the discussion to the talk page so that we may begin the dispute resolution process as outlined in Wikipedia:Dispute resolution. Also, I have recently filled in a blatant gap in your edit, if you don't mind.--Edp318 (talk) 01:06, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Promotions

[edit]

You promoted the Yankees team record FLC as I commented. I was likely to support anyway, but still... Dabomb87 (talk) 15:26, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see that Giants addressed most of my comments. Never mind. Dabomb87 (talk) 15:28, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I was actually addressing them as you were posting to my talk page. Good thing I was on here at the time. Giants2008 (17-14) 15:34, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Good timing. Scorpion, are you doing another round of promotions today? I just capped/supported at your FLC. Dabomb87 (talk) 22:58, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

FAC: Premiere (The O.C.)

[edit]

Hi, I was just wondering would it be possible for you to comment on a featured article candidacy for Premiere (The O.C.). I am asking as it has been open for over two weeks but is short on reviews and I know you took a look at the article during its peer review. Many thanks, Rambo's Revenge (talk) 16:10, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
