Vivek Nagul

Whats wrong with the article? It is 100% true. I will improve it in the coming days once I get more information directly from him. He has a UEFA 'A' and AFC 'A' license which many other coaches dont have but still those others have a wikipedia page. Why not a wikipedia page for Vivek Nagul? Dont delete the article please!! I am Richie Gooner feel free to discuss about the article but dont delete it please. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Richie Gooner (talkcontribs) 04:34, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi Safiel My name is derek Kreckler. Some time I set up a page about myself. I now have my own web site and plan to reduce my web presence outside of my site. The reason is simple, I cannot keep up with up-dating everything. I am asking you to reconsider my request to have my page deleted (Derek Kreckler), and that the page is deleted asap. Thank you in advance derekKreckler (talk) 06:07, 19 January 2015 (UTC)

I noticed that an IP user deleted your PROD tag on the subject article. I am not sure, but I think no notification of such deletions of tags is given. An editor has to watchlist the page. Since you gave a well-stated rationale, I thought I would let you know right away. Donner60 (talk) 04:26, 4 February 2015 (UTC)

Duke -NUS Page

Hi Safiel - I'm the associate dean for learning technology at Duke-NUS (https://www.duke-nus.edu.sg/content/starmer-c-frank ) The director of our Communication group has asked me to delete the Duke-NUS wikipedia page as its out of date, contains incorrect information etc etc. I set this up in 2006 when I first came to Singapore and gave the page to Comms. After some time, our own website was developed https://www.duke-nus.edu.sg and Comms lost track of the wikipedia page - and only last week was it discovered. Last week, our head of Comms asked me to delete it which is what I"m trying to do this morning. The primary editor other than me was gmswee (Wee Lai Ming) - a member of our Comms group.

So - tell me what I need to do to delete the page. Thanks - Frank — Preceding unsigned comment added by Starmerf (talkcontribs) 02:35, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

frank (talk) 23:56, 4 February 2015 (UTC) Hi Safiel - I'm surprised at your response to my request to delete the Duke-NUS page as I was the one that initiated the page. I'm just asking simply how to delete the Duke-NUS page. If its impossible, then I'll pass that back to our Dean and Comms group. Thanks

Middle name of Sophie Hunter

Hello there! I just want to ask a favor. You see, the middle name of Sophie Hunter in her page has been removed without explanation even with proper sources. Her full name is SOPHIE IRENE HUNTER and this reflects on her engagement announcement referring to her as S.I. Hunter (Image here: https://timedotcom.files.wordpress.com/2014/11/btcumb.jpg?w=225&h=300).

It is also in the Burke's Peerage, Baronetage & Knightage, 107th edition It's not available online (under subscription).

  • Screen capture here (I have double-checked this in the library (it's a big book), and her middle name is indeed "Irene")

Further proof online:

Can you please be so kind to amend her page for her middle name to be included. Burke's book has been used as a reliable reference in Wikipedia regarding peerage, ancestry and those in the aristocracy. Thank you very much!80.109.107.210 (talk) 05:10, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Hey! Sorry I'm bothering you again. Thanks for the edit but I don't think her middle name should be included on the top of her infobox but instead on the birth name parameter? The pages I have visited here on Wiki always indicate the whole name in the start of the body but only the name they're best known of is on the top of the photo in their infobox. Anyway, thanks. It's just an observation for my part.80.92.117.189 (talk) 06:33, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
Safiel, I would be careful, this is more than likely a sock asking you to do their editing since they have been banned. See Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Fairyspit/Archive. They have an obsession with Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter. LADY LOTUSTALK 12:08, 5 February 2015 (UTC)
@Lady Lotus: Thanks for the heads up. The one edit I did on that article simply involved adding the middle name of the subject and the references seemed solid, but I will certainly take care. Thanks. Safiel (talk) 17:53, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Copying within Wikipedia

Hello, Safiel. I'm helping correct some attribution errors in the "List of United States Senators in the Xth Congress by seniority" series and found that on at least one occasion ([1]), the content was added by you. I just need to stop by to be sure that you are aware that content on Wikipedia is copyrighted. While you are free to reuse it, one of the conditions of reuse is that you must give attribution for where you found it. This is not hard to do; at minimum, we require a note in the edit summary with a link to your source article. As Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia notes, a note on the talk page of the article is also recommended. Without attribution, I'm afraid that content copied from one Wikipedia article to another violates copyright. I have added the minimum attribution in this case - while I'm not sure which article specifically you copied the lead from, I have attributed it to what I believe is the oldest in the series - but need to make sure you are aware of these policies so you will follow the procedure going forward. If you have any questions, please feel free to drop by my talk page. Thanks! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:19, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

Your gar for Stephen Breyer

Hi Safiel; Your gar comments from 2 years ago on Stephen Breyer was to delist the article. After some small support you then left it unchanged. After 2 years the article has not been adequately maintained and the situation is getting no better, even retrograde. He has been on the Supreme Court for over 6 years and no one has been making the relevant updates for at least the last 2 years. If you wish to do the delist or something comparable then I would support. LawrencePrincipe (talk) 14:58, 17 February 2015 (UTC)

your edit in Jesse Merz

The was clearly a newbie. In order to make wikipedia a friendlier place, you should have helped him out, rather than simply reverting his mistake he made because he does not know the ropes. He tried to follow your advice, but failed again, thanks to our arcane procedures. Anyway, I did this for you and for him (I am not a smartass running around and teaching others how to :-). 18:43, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

Family tree of Jahaniyan Jahangasht

Hi, thanks not to remove speedy tags to Family tree of Jahaniyan Jahangasht. The article should NOT be merged as it is entirely based on OR and is in fact a promo. It has already been deleted from Wikipedia several times anyway. The reason of having a "cluster" of CSD templates is bugs in the {{db-multiple}} template (e.g., impossible to append a custom AfD URL to G4). I am restoring the tags. Speedy delete template on Hapa

Hi. No, I am not claiming an attack page. Please see the talk page. There are two issues; the G10 issue is fro pages that disparage their subject or some other entity, and serve no other purpose. Also as G3 for obvious misinformation. I am not claiming it as an attack page on an individual but as disparaging several living people when created and still disparaging entire groups of people based on ethnicity. it is not a real English word or phrase.--Mark Miller (talk) 05:02, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

But if you still feel this must be taken down could you please explain your reasoning?--Mark Miller (talk) 05:03, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
OK, I went ahead and asked at WP:AN if an admin could check it out to see if the criteria is not met.--Mark Miller (talk) 06:26, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
@Mark Miller: The article has existed since 2004, so I believed speedy deletion in any form to be inappropriate at this point. However, I have no problem whatsoever if you wish to WP:PROD or WP:AFD. Safiel (talk) 16:58, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
Length of time has no true bearing on speedy delete criteria, but an admin stating they do not feel it meets the standards does, of course. Before any attempt to AFD after a speedy request, I feel I should attempt some form of rescue to the article by checking the strength of the sources, claims etc.. it does appear that this is an attempt at creating an English language neologism. I also note that the original article did actually disparage a list of living persons by labeling them as an "fringe" ethno-slang term. It is possible that this may need to be handled through one of the noticeboards, such as the original research noticeboard, (not admin notice boards) and possibly COI notice board. I am not in a huge hurry as I am not trying to right great wrongs, but Wikipedia is indeed showing an article that appears to be referenced to very weak sources at best. A student thesis that itself admits the paper is discussing new categorizations and labels. Her theories do not appear to be the main stream academic consensus and the source was misused by not attributing the author and publication as the opinion it is. However...the author herself may not be the best to be quoting since her ideas are so new, and she does not appear to be well known in the field of ethnic studies. Another one of the first sources used is a student services articles from a university. Its an article on student organizations and advertising. It is possible this is beginning to form a pattern of student based content. If so, a near complete re-write may be needed for accuracy and sensitivity to the ethnicities this article is discussing.--Mark Miller (talk) 19:08, 2 May 2015 (UTC)
This is the IP that created the article: [2]. A look at their website shows that they are advocates (says it right on the website). --Mark Miller (talk) 19:16, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Frederick William Birrell

Why would you bother listing it at RfD? Someone, who is not an admin and can't fix it himself, pointed the full name of one politician to an article on a totally different politician. In the meantime, we've got a bunch of clearly misdirected links in an area I'm trying to clean up, and you're putting a completely uncontroversial fix through one of the most sluggish processes on the project.

What is the point of trying to go through this stuff with a fine-toothed comb if getting an obvious error fixed takes weeks? There are about five different general CSD criteria concerning "obviously created in error". The Drover's Wife (talk) 17:38, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

@The Drover's Wife: Actually, I might just turn that into an article stub on Frederick William Birrell, as he seems to satisfy the Politician notability guidelines. That would solve both our problems. Safiel (talk) 17:45, 10 May 2015 (UTC)
I have a to-do list as tall as the Eiffel Tower, and I really resent having to redirect my time to write articles on subjects I'm not interested in because it's so ludicrously hard to get erroneous redirects deleted. Unless you'd like to write it, or you have a plausible counterexplanation for that redirect besides "oops, wrong person", can you please just delete the thing so it correctly shows a redlink? The Drover's Wife (talk) 17:47, 10 May 2015 (UTC)

Bit of common courtesy from you would be nice!

Please can you communicate with me before acting like a bull in a china shop and motoring on with your methods. There was nothing improper about it. With that page deleted, I can rename Badults (TV series), an article which I incidentally created, as Badults. That which you stipulate to be or not to be prudent is not something that I hold in any high regard. David-King (talk) 23:48, 12 May 2015 (UTC)

@David-King: That is EXACTLY what I am trying to accomplish. A move request has been submitted and Badults (TV series) will be moved to Badults shortly. I am not trying to be rude, but I was clearing a whole series of improper speedy deletion requests. In any event, the article will be at Badults soon enough. Safiel (talk) 23:52, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
I want to be credited with having created the article. I poured more effort into creating this article than I should've done so it's the least I can ask for. David-King (talk) 23:54, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
@David-King: I would note that you WILL still be shown as the creating editor when the page has been moved. My name will not appear in the edit history at all, unless I subsequently edit the page at some point in the future. Safiel (talk) 23:59, 12 May 2015 (UTC)
Well, you've heard what I want and I'm kindly asking you to not let me down. David-King (talk) 00:02, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for reversing speedy deletion=

I must thank you for coming to my rescue. One "Joseph2302" has been on my neck even after being sincere with him. He has nominated all my created pages for deletion on the ground that I'm an undisclosed editor. I told him the truth when he asked because I never know about the issue of disclosing paid status. here's my response to his question " ARE YOU A PAID EDITOR. I'm a freelancer in Elance.com and Freelancer.com. Clients pay me to help them create pages. I also make sure I follow the wiki guidelines in creating them. Some clients that want to promote their articles/companies via wikipedia, I use to tell them that, such is not allowed.. I really love writing wiki pages. It keeps my alive aside from the compensations. Please, how do I disclose my paid status? Am I contravening wiki rules by editing articles for clients via freelancing? I would like to know. Thanks againHilumeoka2000 (talk) 00:12, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Valid CSD criteria

The Wikimedia Terms of Use clearly state that a paid editor must disclose themselves- not doing so is a violation of Wikipedia terms of use. Therefore, it should be speedy deleted. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:14, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

@Joseph2302: A violation of the paid editing policy does not amount to a valid reason for speedy deletion. Take to AfD or PROD instead. Take the editor to the appropriate administrator's noticeboard and raise the issue there. Safiel (talk) 00:19, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
Personally I think that's a stupid rule, but I've added an AfD to all of them. Joseph2302 (talk) 00:21, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

@Joseph2302: @Hilumeoka2000: I would note that, now and in the future, disputes over paid editing can be taken here Wikipedia:WikiProject Cooperation/Paid editor help. An administrator can then make a determination on whether the paid editor is complying with or violating the paid editing policy and can take the appropriate actions. Safiel (talk) 00:25, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Bob Lynch (comics)

That article is created by Bob Lynch himself, which is a clear violation of Wikipedia policies. Also, no, the proposed deletion has not been declined. Is Bob Lynch your friend? Safiel,

Thanks for the heads-up on the infobox. Where might I find information as to which boxes support which fields? Thanks for any thoughts. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bluedudemi (talkcontribs) 22:25, August 11, 2015‎ (UTC)

@Bluedudemi: When you are in edit mode on an article, look at the top of the infobox template. For Kathryn M. Dominguez it reads Infobox officeholder. Therefore, you would go to Template:Infobox officeholder. There, you should find out everything about that particular infobox, including what fields its supports. Safiel (talk) 02:43, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Tremendous. Thanks for the info and for the speedy reply. Much appreciated. Bluedudemi (talk) 00:51, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Mario Parga

Could you be more specific in how this article follows the guidelines for notability? I don't see anything. Please outline. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SwettLossy (talkcontribs) 13:57, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

@SwettLossy: Whether the subject is notable or not is not relevant to the reason that I removed PROD. Proposed deletion cannot be used on an article that has previously undergone the Articles for deletion process, with rare exceptions. In this case Mario Parga was previously taken into Articles for deletion, with no consensus being reached for keep or delete, with votes and arguments for both sides. The article is therefore not eligible for deletion under the Proposed deletion process. You may seek deletion by using the Article for deletion process and attempting to gain a consensus for deletion. That process is described at this link WP:AFD. Hi Safiel,

I'm not going to move Draft:Kenneth Mahood to mainspace this week -- that was a note to other AfC editors, who have been reviewing the page (I'm an AfC reviewer which is how I started editing it).

I understand that you created the MfD in order to respond to the user's request and are trying to safeguard that process! Aside from the user's request, I see nothing to suggest that deletion is the right path. Especially since the requesting user doesn't seem familiar with incubation!

It doesn't seem to me that deletion meets the user's concerns/interests, expressed in extensive commentary and replies regarding the article on User talk:Vfrickey; the article talk page; and now the editor's comments in the MfD (e.g. "I'm choosing to disengage from this particular project, in the hope that another editor will revive it at a later date").

Anyway, we'll wait and see how the MfD turns out -- and next time this comes up I'd suggest starting a policy discussion. Jodi.a.schneider (talk) 20:50, 18 November 2015 (UTC)

A favour?

An IP has removed the prod that you supported on Explosive Pro Wrestling but has done nothing to address the notability issue. I feel the UMA award is at least as prestigious as many "awards" that the community in AfD discussions has found sufficient to merit notability (the Urban Music Awards at least has their own article!). Feel free to initiate a full AfD discussion if you wish. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 13:37, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

Please delete this file: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Jonah_Bryson-Profile.jpg -- I put it up and do not have full permission. I originally had it in the public domain, but it no longer stay on Wikipedia. Please remove. Thanks. MrBean65 (talk) 21:41, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

@MrBean65: It is under a deletion process and will be deleted within a week. Safiel (talk) 23:04, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi! I understand your “technical” decline of Speedy deletion of subject article failing the “stated” clauses of WP:G5. But I found out that Nitishkumartn (SM) has edited WP from Sept 2013 to Feb 2014 and Nehapant19 (SP) has been operating from Nov 2013 to Feb 2014. Our SM was blocked on 19th Nov 2013 for a week and that’s when our SP made her first edit some 7-8 hours later. The article was created in Jan 2014 by SP while the both accounts were active and that itself is violation of Wikipedia:Multiple accounts and I feel that such articles should also be included under G5. What do you think? Should G5 be tweeked to include such cases?
Btw, I did not mention this in the CSD rationale as I had not found it then, but you might want to have a look at User:Dharmadhyaksha/Promotional cases by which WP:G11, as in advertising, is also a possible speedy rationale. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 04:17, 8 December 2015 (UTC)

@Dharmadhyaksha: I actually would like to see CSD G5 tweaked to include sockpuppetry edits that occur before a user is blocked. It would probably be very difficult to get such a change enacted, however. As for G11, the article is clearly promotional. However, for G11, it has to be blatant promotion and I don't quite see that level of promotion. Hopefully, the article will be deleted under the PROD. If somebody declines the PROD, I will take to Articles for Deletion. Safiel (talk) 03:22, 9 December 2015 (UTC)
I have endorsed the PROD now adding the case of socking involved. I wanted to start a discussion on G5's inclusion of socking cases. But turns out that Wikipedia talk:Criteria for speedy deletion is full of other discussions related to G5 itself. So now won't be a good time to begin this or else many editors might simply shun it thinking everyone is now coming and objecting G5! §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {Talk / Edits} 03:41, 9 December 2015 (UTC)

Category:German heraldrists

Why did you change the tag? The category is at Category:German heraldists. There's no need to discuss this.Zigzig20s (talk) 05:34, 23 December 2015 (UTC)

@Zigzig20s: I didn't create a discussion. I merely changed the speedy deletion tag from uncategorized to CSD G7, which is deletion requested by author. It is still a speedy deletion tag and will be speedily deleted. Safiel (talk) 06:24, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
OK. Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 06:33, 23 December 2015 (UTC)

Revert

See here I made the redirect and it's malformed. Anyway, you are mistaken that redirects are only supposed to have maintenance categories: where did you get this idea? —Justin (koavf)TCM 02:54, 27 December 2015 (UTC)

Incorrect warning. You are right. You were the victim, not the attacker. My bad. I retract what I said I apologize for my error! 7&6=thirteen () 00:06, 5 January 2016 (UTC)
FYI, if you use the format [[User: 7&6=thirteen]] I get message. Ping only works sometimes. Sorry for the inconvenience. 7&6=thirteen () 00:07, 5 January 2016 (UTC)
(talk page stalker). User: 7&6=thirteen. Many templates won't work with '=' in them. The solution is to do this: {{Reply to|7&6{{=}}thirteen}}. Maybe. I will give it a try below, which should give you a ping to the next thread too. Cheers! {{u|Checkingfax}} {Talk} 01:06, 18 January 2016 (UTC)
(talk page stalker). Testing ping with '=' wrapped in '{{ }}'. Ping: @7&6=thirteen:. Let me know if this ping worked. Cheers! {{u|Checkingfax}} {Talk} 01:08, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

I got two separate messages. Cheers. 02:52, 18 January 2016 (UTC)

What have you done?? O Lord!

please check this video >>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXf8Wi3tR9M please rechange the title to lux new face of year WikiBriefed (talk) 07:06, 25 January 2016 (UTC)

Why remove the sponsor name???

If you want to remove, then remove it from each and every page where "LUX New face of year"has been used not just here. please dont think me to be rude. its just that im frustrated with all nagging here. WikiBriefed (talk) 07:59, 25 January 2016 (UTC)

@WikiBriefed: I didn't realize immediately that Lux was a sponsor name. I initially thought it might be some Hindi term. When I realized it was a sponsor name, I thought it best to remove it from the article name for consistency, as none of the other Filmfare Awards articles include any sponsor name in the title. In any event, generally, it is best NOT to include a sponsor name. There are exceptions, such as the NASCAR Sprint Series. But generally, the sponsor name is given within the article, but not in the article title. And in the case of the Filmfare Awards, consistency with the naming of the other award articles would point to omitting the sponsor name. I did make sure that the sponsor's name was given in the lead of the article. Safiel (talk) 17:17, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
i am ok with changing the title and removing the sponsor name but then i also want you to take the effort to remove "lux" from every wiki page where "lux new face of the year" has been used. say on wiki page of juhi chawla, bhagyashree, sonali bendre, all filmfare award ceremonies yearwise. You cant just come and randomly remove sponsor name and change title on the main page and leave all other pages. thats such an easy way out. so you want me and every other editor to make the effort and change each and every related page too?? NOT DONE so not done sorryWikiBriefed (talk) 05:31, 26 January 2016 (UTC)

Relists

Hi, The relist templates shouldn't ever be removed .... and it gives the impression you've closed it without even relisting it (hence me reverting you) so I would strongly suggest you stop otherwise you could be blocked for disruptive editing, Cheers, –Davey2010Talk 23:44, 31 January 2016 (UTC)

Ghana road accident

Hi, Safiel. You endorsed my PROD at Ghana road accident. The prod was removed, and I opened an AfD discussion for this and four other similar pages at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gujarat road accident. You may want to participate in the discussion. ubiquity (talk) 15:46, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

Re: Judicial nominations for 3/15/2016

Glad to help! You may be right about the Texas nominations. I looked to see if I could find any articles or press releases regarding nominations and only came across the one referencing Sweet. I'll keep a look out to see if I spot anything. Rumors are circulating that a SCOTUS nomination may be made on Wednesday as well.
