[edit]Hello. Your recent edit to List of chocolate-covered foods appears to have added a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link. Hello Rex Villaflor. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Rex Villaflor. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Rex Villaflor|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. bonadea contributions talk 19:18, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you and I categorically state that I am not in any way or form expect or receive compensation for my edits. It is a pursuit of fairness and partiality as to why some of the entities are allowed to be included in Wikipedia while others are not given a chance. As you review my edits, I initially did not intend to add an article but just to include an item in the lists that I deemed a certain entity might belong, along with entities with the same criteria. - You will need to understand better some of the policies at Wikipedia before this stuff will start making sense to you.
- You need to respond to the conflict-of-interest query about your connection with the Muddy Bites brand.
- You may need to request a change in username, since your current username could be interpreted as the name of a company.
- You need to learn more about the kinds of sources that can be accepted on Wikipedia to establish a subject's notablity. Press releases and other company announcements, social media, or storefront sites that sell a product are all unable to help. For the most part, blogs and niche websites are also useless for the purpose of establishing notability.
- There is some good advice at your first article. Learn from that and see if you can find sources that will allow you to create a draft. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 02:30, 10 September 2024 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Cebuproducts2023. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Ad Orientem (talk) 03:37, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
Your username
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Cebuproducts2023", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Ad Orientem (talk) 03:39, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
Muddy Bites
[edit]Rex, I see you've taken care of the username problem, so now we can address the issue about Muddy Bites. It's clear you want the world to know about this product, but please remember that Wikipedia does not exist to promote your product. However, if Muddy Bites is a notable product, you can try to create an article about it. I would recommend that you start by creating Draft:Muddy Bites. Flesh out the article with neutral facts about the product, and use reliable sources to cite your article. Once that's done, you can submit the article for review through the Articles for Creation process. Independent editors will evaluate the article, make suggestions for improvement, and eventually either accept or reject the submission based on their evaluation of the notability of the content as demonstrated by the sources. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 11:29, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for the kind words. I am not to promote a product. I just want to have a fair contribution to the community and knowing that other products of the same category exists in Wikipedia, why not have this product also listed as one of those. That being said, I am now being cautious and hesitant on how to draft an article and not being tagged as spamming as this has never been my intent. Rex Villaflor (talk) 12:14, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- You'll be given more latitude in the Draft space, unless you create a draft that is just a blatant advertisement. Your draft submission may be declined if editors perceive that it is "spammy", but you'll have the opportunity to fix that and resubmit. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 12:26, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Rex Villaflor I have declined it based on the language/tone only, I have not yet determined if the topic even meets our notability requirements. Qcne (talk) 15:37, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Rex Villaflor After looking further, I do not believe Muddy Bites meets our notability requirements. None of your sources meet our golden rule. Qcne (talk) 15:42, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Please enlighten me about the issue at hand. I am comparing the entry to other entries like in this following link: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Abbey_Crunch
- Is it really not worthy for this Muddy Bites product to be included in Wikipedia? Thank you. Rex Villaflor (talk) 15:56, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Unfortunately not, no. We would need significant coverage in independent reliable sources. Qcne (talk) 16:54, 10 September 2024 (UTC)

- @Rex Villaflor Wikipedia has tens of millions of articles. Many tens of thousands of which are poor quality and may not merit an article any longer, but no one has gotten around to removing or improving them.
- You'll notice many of the examples you listed already have maintenance tags on them, pointing out they are in poor condition and should be improved.
- Do feel free to improve any of the above existing articles, or nominate them for deletion if you feel that is more appropriate. Qcne (talk) 17:18, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. I tried to propose a deletion in one of the articles to see the fairness of the Wikipedia community in dealing with new contributors. Rex Villaflor (talk) 17:34, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- @Rex Villaflor to note, this isn't a matter of fairness- we just judge new drafts on their own merits not in comparison to existing articles. We certainly don't want to add more poor quality articles to the project. Qcne (talk) 17:36, 10 September 2024 (UTC)

- Thank you. Rex Villaflor (talk) 22:10, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- World Record Academy does not appear to represent independent reporting of the sort that can confer notability. For the most part, it looks like it would be considered user generated content. If you were to find more general press coverage from reliable sources that took a WRA record seriously, we'd have to reconsider this assessment, but it'd be the press coverage and not the original listing at WRA that supported notability. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 04:54, 11 September 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Muddy Bites
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Muddy Bites, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. bonadea contributions talk 19:15, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
