Hello, Rex.1998D,

This is not an article draft, it's a talk page comment. Please do not move incomplete pages like this into main space of the project. This does a disservice to our readers who expect well-written articles that are properly referenced, not some film buzz lines from IMDb. Wikipedia is not a platform for you to promote movies you like or have worked on. It's an encyclopedia about notable subjects and people.

If you have questions about article creation, Wikipedia's standards for notability or any questions about participating on the project, please bring them to the Teahouse where experienced editors can offer you advice and support. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:32, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Rex.1998D! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 02:54, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kalkokkho moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Kalkokkho, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. Unsuitable for mainspace. scope_creepTalk 15:36, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Rex.1998D: Don't move this back into mainspace until its done. It is unsuitable in the mess its in at the moment. Please take a look at WP:REFB which is a wee tutorial to show you how to create proper in-line citations. scope_creepTalk 15:40, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Rex.1998D. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Kalkokkho, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DMacks (talk) 07:57, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Debasish Mondal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://nsd.academia.edu/debasishmondal/CurriculumVitae. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Consider this paragraph:
2020-21 has been the saga of an unknown paranoia that left its darkest and deepest scars in each and everyone’s life globally. In this epoch of survival-crisis and indefinite pause to life and living that the pandemic brought in, Aurora Film Corporation, India’s oldest functioning Cinema Producing and Distributing organization since 1906, the 116 years old company took the initiative to produce their new feature film, “KALKOKKHO” (House of Time) after a long break with new generation filmmakers, National Award winning Filmmaker-duo Rajdeep Paul and Sarmistha Maiti, both alumni of Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute. “Kalkokkho” (House of Time) marks the return of the legendary Aurora Film Corporation led by the third generation custodian, director-producer Anjan Bose and also sets the prologue for the new era of cinema in Bengal to keep rolling with the support of best infrastructure of the studio system that Aurora is setting up in the City of Joy. A part of ‘Kalkokkho’ was shot on the new floor of Aurora Studio.
You promoted the company and film using the lines legendary, new era of cinema, best infrastructure, epoch of survival-crisis and indefinite pause of life. This is not how you write an encyclopedic article. You've been given a level 3 warning above and notices od copyvios, but even after numerous suggestions you continue to promote this film. Please write neutrally and without copyvios. Thank you. VickKiang (talk) 07:38, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

House of Time moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, House of Time, is not suitable as written to remain published. It appears there is a WP:UPE or WP:COI conflict. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. As per WP policy, please do not move into mainspace yourself. Onel5969 TT me 15:00, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for promotion or advertising. I think I'm the third editor to point out that your edits are promotional, and that you likely have a conflict of interest, and may be a paid editor. The last is hard to prove, but the first is not: the draft that User:KylieTastic just declined was incredibly promotional. If you cannot start editing in a neutral and encyclopedic manner, using reliable and acceptable secondary sources, you are likely going to end up blocked. Thank you.
