Government Boys Higher Secondary School Ichigam moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Government Boys Higher Secondary School Ichigam, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Handling citations when you change the data
All material in Wikipedia mainspace, including everything in articles, lists and captions, must be verifiable. All quotations, and any material whose verifiability has been challenged or is likely to be challenged, must include an inline citation that directly supports the material.
You made this edit to the article on Budgam district where you changed the population from that stated by the cited source to something else. You left your new numbers next to the existing citation. That is not OK. If you have a new source to support the new number, you need to cite that source next to the new number.
Regarding the old source that supported the old number - one option would be to delete it. A better option would be to put a sentence into the citation giving the old number.
- The existing citation is:
<ref name=districtcensus>{{cite web | url = http://www.census2011.co.in/district.php | title = District Census 2011: Badgam District | access-date = 20 August 2020 | year = 2011 | publisher = Census2011.co.in}}</ref> - You could amend the citation to:
<ref name=districtcensus>According to the 2011 census, the population was 753,745.<br>{{cite web | url = http://www.census2011.co.in/district.php | title = District Census 2011: Badgam District | access-date = 20 August 2020 | year = 2011 | publisher = Census2011.co.in}}</ref>
-- Toddy1 (talk) 09:43, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
You have now trashed the existing citation with your edit to the article on Budgam district.
- The existing citation was used several times in the article - hence <ref name=districtcensus>. It was used at all the places marked <ref name=districtcensus/>
- Your new citation has a new URL, but the description in words for the citation is for the old citation.

Wikipedia and copyright
Hello Kamilalibhat! Your additions to Ichgam have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. All other images must be made available under a free and open license that allows commercial and derivative reuse to be used on Wikipedia.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 10:57, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Government Boys Higher Secondary School Ichgam requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://schools.org.in/badgam/01040900603/bhss-ichigam.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Review your Change
Dear editor, I noticed you have undid my edit on Chillai Kalan in which I have fixed the Kashmir link to Jammu and Kashmir (Union territory) you have changed it to Kashmir again stating that these cold waves are only in Kashmir not in Jammu. By giving link to Kashmir you include Jammu also. Peerzada Iflaq (talk) 05:43, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- Dear @Peerzada Mohammad Iflaq: Thanks for the information. If Kashmir includes Jammu also, then we may add Kashmir Valley in place of Kashmir in the Chillai Kalan#Weather. Thanks you. Happy editing! Kamilalibhat (talk) 06:21, 21 January 2021 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Ichgam, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. You have edited Page Ichgam in which you have mentioned "This data is as per the actual survey done by the publisher before publishing it." This is not the correct way to support your edits. Kindly, Add reliable sources in future. Happy Editing and Enjoy Sheen. Syed Iflaq (talk) 16:36, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as at Wikipedia:Teahouse, (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 17:39, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Kautilya3. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Srinagar seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Hello. I wanted to let you know that in your recent contributions to Ichgam, you seemed to act as if you were the owner of the page. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to Wikipedia. This means that editors do not own articles, including ones they create, and should respect the work of their fellow contributors. If you create or edit an article, remember that others are free to change its content. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. - @Cordless Larry: Thanks for providing information. I have added those templates just because that data is accurate and by doing so Vandalism may be prevented. Otherwise I know that I'm not the owner of the page, Ichgam. I know other editors are also free to edit. But why edit the accurate one, where there is no need to edit. That's why I have added those templates. Hope you understood my reason. Thanks. Your guidance has always proved to be good for me.– Kamilalibhat (talk) 17:30, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- There's only really a need to add such a note to a figure such as the area in the infobox if there's a history of vandalism to it - otherwise we'd be adding notes to everything saying not to change it. You also added notes to the festivals and roads sections telling people not to change anything. What if someone wanted to add a reference, or to add updated material? Cordless Larry (talk) 18:27, 22 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Cordless Larry: Actually at the time of adding those templates, I had forgot about if anyone had to add a citation. I'm sorry for my mistake. Now, you may remove those templates from the places where you think they should not be cited. – Kamilalibhat (talk) 18:34, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for January 23
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Baloda Bazar, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bilaspur. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:16, 23 January 2021 (UTC)

Can you please stop adding Ichgam to Category:WikiProject India? It's a maintenance category and articles don't belong in it. Speedy deletion nomination of Rairangpurians
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Rairangpurians requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Your edit
Hello, I just noticed that you have reverse my edit for Bo Yang. My edits are actually correct as they are supported by the original citation. In addition, the person in question passed away in 2008, and therefore is not considered a living person. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by CSG8711 (talk • contribs) 12:45, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- @CSG8711:I don't think Bo Yang is Chinese poet. You just removed everything related to Taiwan and added China in its place. You removed Categories, etc. I think that was possible disruptive editing. Assuming him as a living person was a mistake. Thanks! - Kamil Ali Bhat 🍥 ( 💭 • ✏ ) 12:59, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
@Kamilalibhat:I wrote he was a "Chinese poet, essayist and historian based in Taiwan." I didn't remove everything related to Taiwan. A person of his background will also considered himself as Chinese, given he was born on the mainland and moved to Taiwan when he was 29. Plus, the source cited does not mention him as Taiwanese but rather that he made his name in Taiwan, which is what I put: "based in Taiwan." Finally, all of Bo's works are intimately related to the struggle of modern China and the Chinese people, which he considered himself a member. CSG8711 (talk) 13:15, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- @CSG8711: I see you removed many categories. You may see the difference here [1]. And if you think those edits are good, you may revert them.
- @Kamilalibhat: I will make some changes then, thanks!

Hi, I was trying to revert vandalism and not to vandalize, so why did you revert my edit as "vandalism"? User3749 (talk) 13:51, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

Please stick to one account
Hi there. You appear to be using two accounts to edit articles such as Baramulla district with, and as far as I can tell you don't have a valid reason for doing this (see WP:VALIDALT). Unless you can articulate a good reason for using multiple accounts, can you please stick to using one and retire any others? Cordless Larry (talk) 15:08, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
- Cordless Larry, that account is my old account. I have no intention to disrupt Wikipedia. I just revived it few days ago. And I wanna keep that as my alternate account. –Kammil (talk) 15:57, 9 February 2021 (UTC)

Your comments on this discussion.
Hi, maybe you could give your opinion here(https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Zeyan_Shafiq). Basically if you might know about (Sheikh Asif), (Sardar Nadir Ali), (Thames Infotech), those people and other people related to them have been doing disruptive edits and deletions to Zeyan Shafiq in the past by ip’s and new fake accounts. Few more suspects are (PanunKoshurBoi) and (HACKER KASH), this is because maybe i have been reporting them, they’re targeting my articles. I would really seek your opinion on this article since you’re among the genuine kashmiri wikipedians i know, and since this article is related to kashmir, your opinion would count here. Rollback granted
Hi Kamilalibhat. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 17:14, 24 February 2021 (UTC)

Shek Chung Au
I have recreated the Shek Chung Au article. Obviously does not meet speedy. Totally disagree with your move to draft. Let's discuss it if you like, but I believe that you are abusing the draftification process. Underwaterbuffalo (talk) 18:55, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
- Underwaterbuffalo, I thought you left the article that's why I moved. I didn't meant to disrupt Wikipedia or misuse the tool. I saw, it was unreferenced so I draftified it. By the way, I'm sorry to disturb. –Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 19:09, 28 February 2021 (UTC)
- It's OK. No big harm done. Thank you for your understanding. You literally moved the article while I was working on it, probably less then 10 minutes after I had created it. Underwaterbuffalo (talk) 19:11, 28 February 2021 (UTC)

Karl Väli and move to the draft
I have seen yesterday that you moved the article to the draft. It was actually not a good idea. The person is clearly notable (member of the body equivalent to the legislature), the source is reliable, and, as far as my Estonian goes, every single fact in the article has been confirmed by the source. You may not like the fact the the article is too short, and that there is only one source, but this might be a reason to add tags but not really to move to draft. Please be more careful in the future.--Ymblanter (talk) 20:00, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- The good @Ymblanter, already said it all, but to expound on what they said, this move indeed wasn’t exactly good draftifying my main concern being that you performed the move just 6 minutes after the article was created(the bar is usually set at 1 hour) without any sign of improvement & more perplexing is that the subject of the article was clearly notable as they met a criterion from WP:NPOL. Could you be more careful about this in future? If you come across an article on an individual who is notable but the article is unsourced or under-sourced, rather than move the article to draft, you could perform a WP:BEFORE, obtain the sources, then add the sources to the article, after which you then proceed to leave a note on the talk page of the article creator explaining to them the importance of using multiple sources (at least three) in their articles. Celestina007 (talk) 20:15, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- Celestina007, as Ymblanter had already asked, I will take this into consideration. Thank you. –Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 04:04, 2 March 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for your review on https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Draft:Jane_Waterous
Hello! I just wanted to thank you for your speedy and high-quality review. I am rather new to Wikipedia so appreciated the friendly suggestion. I have revised the section you pointed out (Early Life and Education) per your suggestion of re-writing in my own language and I have added some details from another source. I don't know if you or someone else will review the article again, but I'd like to say thanks in any case. Take care! CaseyJL (talk) 13:27, 2 March 2021 (UTC)CaseyJL
- CaseyJL, Welcome to Wikipedia. As you can see the draft was declined again. If you think that the subject is Notable and there are sources present about it on newspapers, websites and journals, etc, then add them to the article (in your own words). Follow the comment added by the recent reviewer and then resubmit it. Anyone of the reviewers may accept it and move it to the mainspace. Let me know if you have any questions, I'm just a ping away. Thank you. –Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 15:35, 2 March 2021 (UTC)
Hi Kammil,
I saw that my submission for this draft was declined on account of needing more verifiable sources. Could you help me understand what I can do when there don't exist many verifiable sources online regarding a rather obscure southern california rock band active between 1987-1993 who's material is out of print and who's only "official" page online is a Facebook page? I had two newspaper articles from the LA Times in my external link, which should be verifiable...
UPDATE: on the Teahouse, a user told me that:
"I took a look, and Decibel and LA Times are reliable sources and seem to me to provide enough coverage of Tender Fury to support an article. (I note the lead singer, Jack Grisham, already has an article.) It might be that the LA Times links were missed because they were in "External links" and not "References" (with Decibel). I would just raise the question at the reviewer's user talk page and see if they missed the LA Times links, and maybe they think it's a pass on a second look, or maybe there is some other issue with the sourcing. Levivich harass/hound 19:04, 6 March 2021 (UTC)"
I have added an LA Times article as a cited reference, and the Decibel Magazine interview is also cited. I have resubmitted the draft for review, and I would very, very much appreciate if I could humbly request your time for a second review.
Ramborose (talk) 19:43, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
- Ramborose, thank you for your contributions. As you can see that this version of the draft had only one citation. That is why the draft was declined. I'd prefer you to read WP:YFA, WP:RS and WP:NOTABLE (if you haven't already read them) because you seem to be new here.
As GoingBatty has already explained, reliable sources are not only online material. Newspapers, journals, magazines are also reliable sources. You can add them too. –Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 03:46, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Ishq Mein Marjawan 3
Please do not create hoaxes on Wikipedia, as you did at Ishq Mein Marjawan 3. Doing so is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.
Draft:The Indian Sentinel
Dear Kammill,
I received the message that you have declined my draft on the Indian Sentinel for copyright reasons. Could you clarify where your concerns lie? I wrote the text myself and cannot find out any copyright concerns at this moment.
Thank you!

- Ctimene, hello. You may have a look here. –Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 09:27, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
- Ctimene, this doesn't mean that your draft will be rejected. All you need to do is to check whether the subject is notable and look for the reliable sources to verify the information provided in the article. Writing the text in your own words is necessary; Wikipedia cannot accept material that is copied from other sources. Thanks, –Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 06:35, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

- Hello Ashleyyoursmile. I'm sorry for my intervention. I didn't noticed that the draft was already reveiwed. Maybe there was a glitch and the draft was shown in drafts waiting review in page curation tool. I'm really sorry! –Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 06:17, 11 March 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for the explanation. The one-minute span between the two reviews explains the glitch. Ashleyyoursmile! 06:26, 11 March 2021 (UTC)

@Kammill, I see that you have just improved Draft:Rajat Verma. Do you think it's notable and why didn't you accept it? 223.238.213.235 (talk) 15:38, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hello 223.238.213.235 (talk · contribs · WHOIS). Yes, I tried to improve the draft but you see it is salted means the title Rajat Verma is protected so that only sysops may create an article with the exact name. I think it probably meets WP:NACTOR. - Thank you Ohnoitsjamie. I think Rajat Verma is notable per WP:NACTOR as he has appeared in the multiple TV shows. I'm not much experienced and I seek your advice on it. –Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 16:40, 13 March 2021 (UTC)
- The criteria is actually significant roles which is not the same as "appearing." It's not clear to me how signficant his roles are. On the other hand, the coverage in India Today and Republic World may be sufficient for WP:GNG. I'd suggest that someone more familiar with Indian sources review those. - I'd recommend you to create an account if you have decided to stay. Since I'm not familiar with the subject, I won't make any change. And one more thing there is no need to change the name because Rajat Verma is his WP:COMMONNAME. You may approach the admin who salted it, and tell them how Rajat Verma is notable. –Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 16:15, 13 March 2021 (UTC)

Pieces by Rain edit removal
Hi, I removed a large chunk of the Background section because it had little to do with the EP (Pieces by Rain) and the creation of it, instead talking about his previous EP. In fact it's literally copy and pasted from the Background section on the page of his last EP, hence why I removed it and called it as waffle - because that's exactly what it was, a copy and paste waffle that had nothing to do with his newest EP 'Pieces by Rain.' The last paragraph is the only meaningful paragraph that talks about Pieces by Rain and nothing else. Let me know if anything else is wrong. 146.199.22.46 (talk) 16:21, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hello IP, we don't appreciate unexplained removal of content from articles. The reason for the warning was that you didn't raised the issue on the talk page of the article from which you removed content. Talk pages of articles are meant to discuss the issues, proposals, etc about the article. Instead of removing content directly you should have raised the issue on the talk page and seek consensus of the community, first. I'd suggest you to do so. –Kammill ⟨talk⟩ 16:36, 14 March 2021 (UTC)
