The article Alan Engel has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
No real indication of notability, only sources are routine 'match reports' on poker news sites and a stats database. Doesn't meet WP:NBIO.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. UtherSRG (talk) 10:25, 11 June 2024 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 12
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2021 World Series of Poker, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Jack Oliver. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 20:26, 12 August 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. Your recent edits to Pollak and Aram (given name) appear to have added a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 17:50, 18 August 2024 (UTC)

September 2024 articles for deletion
[edit]Hi. You have created many recent articles about poker players. Most of these seem to be about people who do not appear to meet our WP:GNG or WP:NPEOPLE guidelines for biogrpahies; they are mid-ranking players who don't appear to have won any major tournaments and don't have any significant coverage from independent reliable sources outside niche poker sites. I strongly suggest that rather than creating such articles straight into mainspace, you create them instead in draft space and use the WP:AFC procedure to have them checked. That will help pick up issues with the articles too, such as poor spelling and grammar - "...is best knowned for" is included in many of the above.
Likewise, redirects you create should be logical. Very, very few people are going to enter "Mini Super Turbo Bounty Freezeout" into the search bar, and fewer still would expect that to redirect to an article on one poker player. Regards, BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 17:55, 2 September 2024 (UTC)

Deletion discussion about Ruslan Prydryk
[edit]Hello PsychoticIncall, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Ruslan Prydryk, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Ruslan Prydryk.
Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Vanderwaalforces}}
. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Santhosh Suvarna.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Santhosh Suvarna.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file licensed as "for non-commercial use only", "no derivative use", "for Wikipedia use only", or "used with permission"; and it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:
- state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
- add the relevant copyright tag and if necessary, a complete fair use rationale.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Replaceable non-free use File:Santhosh Suvarna.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Santhosh Suvarna.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. voorts (talk/contributions) 23:13, 2 October 2024 (UTC)

I have sent you a note about a page you started
[edit]Hi PsychoticIncall. Thank you for your work on Martin Kabrhel. Another editor, Voorts, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:
I see that you write your articles in a pretty formulaic, cookie cutter way. There's nothing wrong with that per se, but one issue with using basically only two sources (Poker News and The Hendon Mob) is that you end up missing important things about a person, such as that they were part of a cheating scandal just last year. I encourage you to search outside of the small universe of poker sources when you write articles.
To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Voorts}}

@Voorts: I've added a note about the cheating allegations. Is it free to remove the notability template? His poker results speaks for themselves. PsychoticIncall (talk) 12:26, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- I still haven't been able to find much significant coverage outside of the cheating allegations. Poker results don't establish notability. voorts (talk/contributions) 12:47, 3 October 2024 (UTC)

License tagging for File:Simone Andrian.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Simone Andrian.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:30, 12 October 2024 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Santosh Suvarna.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Santosh Suvarna.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:12, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
Non-free rationale for File:Santosh Suvarna.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Santosh Suvarna.png. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 07:13, 16 October 2024 (UTC)

November 2024
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Alex Foxen, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 22:31, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
